- "The church is alive, it is a living gospel. The way to know the difference between a live houseplant and a fake houseplant is that the real one has brown spots and dead leaves. There's going to be imperfections in anything that is alive and growing and living. It's just a fact of life. We are all human and make mistakes and the church is a living organism."

I love the analogy that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is a living organism. There will be brown spots along the way, but if we can focus on the beauty instead of the the brown spots, we will truly see we are a part of something beautiful and full of light!
The Church is hoarding billions instead of taking care of the poor with the excess they have. Read Mormon 8 and you can see it is clearly evil.
I AM SO HAPPY I stumbled upon this!!!! I went to high school with Brooke and loved that we were name sisters ;) Always fun passing in the hall, "Hi, Brooke!" " Oh hey, Brooke!" LOL. I mourn for her sisters....This was an incredibly faithful family whose comments in seminary always inspired me. Thankfully they have infinite opportunity to reconcile themselves to Christ in this life. I've seen it again and again!!❤ I was approached by a fringe group during the pandemic even more subtle/ cunning. Deception is at the core of these groups. Somehow, depending on how subtle they are, "obvious" doesn't feel so obvious anymore.... You really do find yourself having to rely wholly upon the fruits of the spirit to know what to do-- It's crazy!!! And yes, SO CONFUSING like you said. When my husband and I were approached, we felt a very distinct spirit, and later each expressed that spirit was UNfamilliar... On one hand, we didn't perceive it to be dark, but on the other hand, it felt nothing like the Holy Ghost. It was new and different. We realized it was a deceiving spirit and knew to stay away!!! I'm grateful we knew God's voice enough to know THAT was NOT it. Also grateful for the commandment to immerse ourselves in God's word each day & I believe doing this brought discerning power necessary to detect that deception. So crucial to know and hear God's voice!!! I'm really glad Brooke did, too!!!
Thanks for sharing your experience, old friend❤
Thanks so much for your post. I just added a post too.
GOOD for _both_ you AND your husband - NOT giving heed to "SEDUCING SPIRITS" abroad in the Earth in these LAST of the LATTER DAYS , sent to "deceive , if it were POSSIBLE - _the very ELECT in Christ"_ !
Its GOOD (!) that you held FAST to the truths you perceived through the power of The Spirit _and_ the GIFT of *discernment* you received as part of your Temple Covenants , which discernment helped you hold ON to _the LIGHT_ of Christ IN YOU that you can hold FAST to the Restored *_Gospel of Jesus Christ_* !
Brooke, you already are an amazing missionary. Don’t step off the Rock! Your foundation must be so firm, that when Satan comes to whisper sweet nothings, you will be able to identify truth from error and will be able withstand his darts with the firm knowledge that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to bring light to this world and happiness for you. Don’t ever doubt, the Lord will guide you always.
The Temple Initiatory Ordinances pronounce a blessing in this regard.
There are so many fringe groups invading our church. Very grateful for this!
Or going back to the roots
The Mormon Church is hoarding billions instead of giving it to the poor. They are not living up to their own scriptures including Mormon chapter 8.
I’ve heard of numerous fringe groups that have led members away over the past few years. What really blows my mind is when it happens to those who have been in the faith for many years, when they should know better. I have a sister who is one of those individuals. For a long time, she had been dissatisfied with the General Conference talks and obsessed with the Second Coming. It was as if she was expecting dates and other vivid details from them. When she got into social media, she found others just like her, who were looking for teachers who could give them further light and knowledge, so to speak. Calling it “deeper doctrine,” they claimed to have an advantage over other saints because they were having supernatural experiences with angels and even Jesus. It was leading them down a dark path, and they were completely blind to it. She has completely left the Church, and constantly posts negative articles and videos on her page. It’s a shame. 😢
Thank you, Brooke, for speaking out. It’s happening to so many families. So glad you made your way back!
Is it a shame? She has her own faith journey to walk. And she could be right!
@@Kristy_not_Kristine she does have her own faith journey to walk that is true but when "a faith journey" creates a need to become negative or tear down other people's faith...it is no longer about faith ... And it is a shame. My hope for her would be to build her own peace of mind and happiness in her life wherever it leads and not the emptiness that comes from tearing others down.
I am touched by your story- and I'm so sorry to hear about your sister. There is hope still. Keep your covenants and keep her name in the prayer roll!
Self gratification is self distraction.
No one knows the exact time, and yet looking for someone to tell you lies???
Sad for them.
Vision, visitation of angels, and hearing God words can make you wise, nevertheless it won't be an assurance you will gonna be save. It is how you obey the messages with all your soul, leaving no doubt or fear, that Heavenly Father will guide you as you wholeheartedly pray, fast in all humility, and with all sincerity study His words, and fill your soul of His Spirit, then you will have what you asked for.
😅 she could be right...good one 😂
I’m so proud of you for being the white sheep of the family! You’re testimony is so powerful and important and thank you for your honesty! My whole family thinks I’m insane and it bothered me when I was first converted and I even tried to please them with how I hadn’t changed but god convicted me and I’m so grateful and I could care less about what anyone thinks about my faith! You are both precious and this was a great interview!
You're amazing thanks for the awesome comment

I was lucky enough to receive a miracle priesthood blessing, just before I joined the church...
I have had my faith challenged by the weakness of men, and my own, but can fall back on personal miracles. I praise God for that foundation.
Thank you Brooke! I love your faith and testimony in the face of uncertainty. You're fulfilling that mission you always wanted to serve. Let your light shine!
I’ve listened twice and cried through it both times. There are many tests of our character and faith right now and one that really stands out is whether we can hold on when we are the only one holding on.
When I was young I heard that there will come a day when we will have to stand on our own testimony. That could go so many directions- and it has.
Thank you both so much!! These testimonies remove the feeling of “standing alone.”
I love the phrase, “faith wobble,” so much more than, “faith crisis.”

Brooke is an amazing young woman! Way to listen to the Spirit in your mind and heart!
This group sounds a lot like one that a family member has joined up with. The leader was very convincing and would mingle truths of the gospel with his own theories on things that are kind of warped. I’m so glad you were able to discern the truth.
One year on … these fringe groups remind me of the one that involved the murder of those two innocent children in Idaho. Didn’t realise that so many in the USA could be so sucked in!!!
I never had a faith crisis, though some anti-lds material bothered me a bit more than a decade ago. Being a stubborn guy, I always doubted my doubts. But thanks to you sisters for sharing, for I am learning more about members that struggle in the faith and I’m becoming less inclined to judge.

Any group or person that tells you that you don’t need a prophet is a HUGE red flag , but i am glad to hear this sister is okay now !
You are aware of the scriptures that warn about false prohets, right? Your testimony must be in Jesus, not man.
It's odd how people quote scripture given from prophets that they use to claim that we don't need prophets...
@@stephaniehilton2858Amen!
Most in society would say its the other way around
Any group that needs to hoard 100’s of billions in dollars saying they need money for a rainy day is a huge red flag. Read Mormon chapter 8. Money is supposed to be given to the poor not the church. Christ never asked for anyone to give money to a church. He asked that you give it to the poor and than come follow him.
Thanks for your detailed, clear analysis of the gradual process by which we can be led away from the gentle covenant path! I think you've Always had faith, because you always prayed and recognized the truth about the deception when it was revealed for your consideration! Acts 2 shows us that part of the Lord's pattern for guiding His disciples is, indeed, through apostles and prophets, in addition to inviting us to seek Him personally.
Thank you so much. Thank God for the woman in the church who stand faithful in the church because of their testimony in Jesus Christ.
I’m a convert and joined the church at 16. I’m going to be 69 next week. I have never questioned my importance in the church or my relationship with my Savior as a woman. I do know many do though. That is not to say I haven’t had some disagreements with some men in the church or some leaders. I guess my attitude has always been if a man in the church thinks I’m less as a woman then I think he’s not really grasping the truth of the gospel. Or maybe he’s arrogant enough to think he’s is so much better. I’ve definitely seen the split in some relationships where the man says he’s the leader in his family and he should not be questioned. Those families don’t seem as happy as the ones where husband and wife view themselves as a team. Ignorant people don’t get to decide my testimony or my faith in the gospel. I’ve told a few male members off in the church over the years. There are many things I don’t understand but I have faith I will one day. That we all will. The truth of the gospel will never change. How we deal with it in mortality might though. Things in the church have changed over time, but the gospel never has. Timing is everything. Some of the changes I’ve seen over time would not have worked in a earlier time or with a earlier generation. I do not ever want to dismiss anyone’s questions or doubts or make them feel less if they are struggling with their faith or testimony. Unfortunately I’ve lost a few friends because I would not let them demean my faith or testimony. One of my favorite parts in the Book of Mormon is when Zeezrom questions Alma on how he knows there is a God. And Alma says he has all things as a testimony, the universe, the planets. We do have all things as a testimony and more will continued to be revealed.
Thank you for sharing your articulate testimony, Ramona! That was powerful for me to read.
53 yr wait. Still no priesthood.
Ramona, I’m 73. I feel the same way you do. So do my friends in our age group. Our challenges were different I suppose. With all the questions the ERA brought up and mid 1970 polygamy questions, with faith and study I was able to put that to bed. To me equality within the church is on full display but perhaps to a younger generation like our kids and grandkids they’ve been taught lies in the world that are hard to break away from. I do know there are generation gaps. At my age I think the best thing I can do is testify of the truth of this gospel and rely on the elders that went before me. The problem for some younger is they don’t accept the experiences and wisdom of the elder generation. Perhaps they really don’t understand the difference between knowledge and wisdom. I admire the guest, Brooke, for her working thru her wobbles as she stands alone from her family of origin and embraces more fully her ward family. She’s a mighty force for good which I believe is a gift she developed in her pre-earth life and is able to stand steadfast as an example for them.

Your post is even worse when read the second time.
Brooke,
There is a poster from the 1970's of a kitty hanging on a rope by one claw and the caption reads, "Hang In There Baby." When I feel like the rope I'm hanging on might give way I remember one huge faith promoting experience I had when I was age 20. Then the two experiences I had when Jesus Christ literally saved me in 2014 and 2017.
The quote paraphrasing Elder Holland grounds me, 'If you pray about something and you receive an answer to be true and don't doubt, hang onto that truth. Doubts will come but remember the truth, hang onto that truth.'
I also appreciate you mentioning looking at gospel principles of 1830 with 2023 eyes. Unless you can go back in time inside Doc's DeLorean and experience the saints of 1830 and get to know their hearts, you can't judge their decisions. Live in the gospel of now, of today, and follow the living prophet. As Joseph Smith, Jr. stated, "Teach them correct principles and let them govern themselves."
God Bless,
Shirlee Graff-Allen

Loved this episode! I appreciated her referencing the temple interview questions. Huge aha moment for me. Thanks, Brooke!
When I got married, I was fortunate enough to have a mother-in-law who was a stalwart in the gospel. Not the church but the gospel. Which made her a stalwart member of the church. I learned very early in my testimony that I had (have) value. Real value. And men or policies or challenges or even failures don't change that. She taught me so much more than I can write here, but you each can be that stalwart woman for your families. Because you already are. Thank you for a wonderful episode! I will have to come back to this again.
Being stalwart in the gospel vs the church… a powerful and important distinction. I’ve never thought of it that way before, but it is an important mindset shift!
This was an amazing episode. I love the idea of "faith wobbles" being ok, that we don't need to have a testimony of things like polygamy now, and that we need to share our concerns so we don't feel alone in them, etc. Brooke made such a good point about trusting that people who are struggling, are looking for more light. I hope that after this wonderful General Conference which focused so much on the Savior, that it will not give Satan a way to draw people away from prophets, the temple, and eventually even convince them that there is no need for our Savior, like it has done with Brooke's family. Thanks Brooke and Ashly for your wonderful podcast and guest.
Brooke, thank you for sharing His light through your testimony! I loved this episode.
I love the comparison to a house plant. To know it’s real, it will have some brown spots. Perfect analogy. None of us is perfect!
Amen! Amen! And Amen! So many great points. I love the idea of the plant with brown spots.
This is a great episode. I've heard of that group she is talking about. Love that she has such great discernment.

Thank you Brooke. This was an amazing story of faith.
Brooke, this was an amazing journey you took us on as you talked about your experiences. I know this will help many people. Thank you.
Thank you Brooke for your spirit. Continue to hold to the iron rod and focus your eyes on Christ. I love your analogy of the plant. Thanks for your strength to make the right choice even when it was an unpopular choice in your family.
Thank you so much for sharing this experience and your beautiful testimony! ❤
Thank you so much for inviting this young woman to share her story. For me, it reinforced the fact that when we dive into the “deep, dark mysteries” that aren’t doctrinal, it opens the door for Satan to lead us away from the truth.
This is so helpful to me...thank you!!

Thank you for your beautiful testimony testimony! 🙏 you are loved!
I find it really fascinating that her family was initially interested in the fringe group because of the potential for a deeper relationship with Christ and Heavenly Father--which is lovely; but by gradually rejecting modern-day prophetic guidance, this fringe group (or at least her family members) eventually became atheists. Wow.
Thank you, Brooke, for sharing your experience. It was interesting to me to note how many times you said confused, confusing, etc.
Joseph Smith Matthew- 22 For in those days there shall also arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders, insomuch, that, if possible, they shall deceive the very elect, who are the elect according to the covenant.
Yes! Such an important scripture! The saints don't see it as possible that their prophet could be one of these false prophets... blinders on big time!
Thank you for another faith promoting episode. I listen every day for strength.
Thank you Brooke! You are amazing and I have been touched by your testimony.
I thank you for sharing the things that challenged you and the things that helped you to cling to the truths that you felt that you did not want to lose. We mortals have a lot of choices to make. I am so grateful for a loving Heavenly family, who are patient as we learn to make wise choices.
Ashley, what I have to say has nothing to do with this particular podcast, but as I listened to your own personal story on Saints Unscripted, it occurred to me that the rest of your story and that of your guest is yet to be untold. I'd like for you to consider another element to add to your podcast. You're providing a remarkable venue for those who have left the church as well as family and other loved ones for whatever reasons, who have found themselves traveling down the rabbit holes of life, and ultimately realizing the missing element in their life was the restored gospel, the Atonement of Jesus Christ, and the church, and eventually they decided to return.
You are allowing us to hear from those who return, BUT NOT the stories of those they leave behind when they are going through a faith crisis in their lives. I would love to hear the stories of YOUR parents and what THEY went through, especially your father. Those stories deserve to be told as well, because other families are also experiencing these things, and it is very devastating for those who are left behind wondering what went wrong, and why?
It would be nice to know how they felt, what they did, how they struggled, what price they had to pay as parents or siblings for a wayward son or daughter, sister or brother. You need to let those who are hurt, confused, and feel hopeless to help a struggling wayward child what they can do to show their continued love for that child who in essence rejects them and their beliefs, and sometimes treats their parents as outcasts who are no longer worthy of their love. I would dearly love to hear what your parents have to say about what it was like for them as they watched you going through your own faith crisis and what advice they would give to others, as well as any encouragement or advice you would give to those who are left behind. With this podcast you also have the ability to help families share their experiences that would provide much needed healings.
My personal experience…. My Dad knew my heart and he also knew my struggles and weaknesses. He let me know every day how much he loved me. He left the door open and let me know he was there for me when I was ready to talk. I’ve kept every letter he wrote me during my seven year absence from the Church. Had I not known and felt his love and his faith in me to find my way back, I’m terrified to know where I would be today. I truly believe Love is powerful in helping those of us who have left and come back.
When we love we do not judge, we want to help and understand why they feel or think or believe that way, then we can give guidance according to what we feel inspired to tell them.
I'm 2/3 through the video. You just spoke of your time just after meeting with your Bishop. I have known for a long time that the day will come when all faithful women in the Church will listen more carefully in the Endowment, especially at the Veil, and come to learn what a Priesthood "Queen and Priestess" is. Can you be a Priestess, and not hold the Priesthood? No. My Religion Professor at BYU gave this definition of a Priestess. You should memorize it. (I did as soon as he said it; this is word perfect). "A Priestess is a female Priest." You could remember it everything you go to the Temple and put on the Garment of the Holy Priesthood; put on Priesthood Robes; and receive Priesthood signs and tokens. What is this all for? To prepare you to be a Queen and Priesthood, to rule and reign in the House of Israel, over your own posterity in eternity. You can be made a Queen and Priestess in this life. It is done through a Final Anointing in the House of the Lord.
I should add for clarity, that D&C 107:1 says that "There are, in the Church, two priesthoods . . ." (Notice there is a qualifier: "in the Church." Why the qualifier?) These are the two Priesthoods that operate the Church, (including it's ordinances and blessings). D&C 84 (begin reading about verse 31) says that these are MALE Priesthoods (SONS of Aaron, and SONS of Moses). No women will ever hold these two male Church Priesthoods. However, as you continue reading D&C 84, it speaks of another Priesthood, (often called the Fulness of the Priesthood, or the Patriarchal Priesthood). This Priesthood is called the SEED OF Abraham. "Seed" is BOTH Male and Female. This is speaking of a Priesthood that includes women as much as it includes men. When a man and woman (as a couple) receive what President Joseph Smith called "those last and more impressive ordinances," it makes their Calling and Election sure. Through these Temple ordinances, they are are sealed up to Eternal Life, and if they continue faithful to the end, will be exalted in eternity-with the promise of an endless posterity. This Priesthood does NOT operate in the Church, (hence the qualifier in D&C 107), but in the Home and Family, (including the House of Israel in eternity). Those who receive this Priesthood become members of The Church of the Firstborn, mentioned in the Scriptures.
I have given you enough that you can learn more by yourself through the revelations and whisperings of the Holy Ghost.
Note: Every single Endowment session begins with an Introduction which speaks of these further ordinances. Listen carefully. They are available in this life, (and are also given by proxy for the deceased.)
These are sacred subjects, and are not spoken by the Church Authorities often. Elder Theodore M. Burton spoke of one of these Final Ordinances in a General Conference Address in April 1977, entitled, "Neither Cryptic, nor Hidden." I commend it to you.
Those who prove true and faithful in the Gospel and their Church membership, will eventually receive these Final Blessings. God bless us all in this Spiritual Quest and in enduring to the end.
I love Brooke sharing the example of Nephi asking for deliverance so that he could accomplish something. Great point! I will definitely use this in my prayers as I seek revelation.
I love her faith. What a great woman.
Thank you for sharing your story! Personal revelation is possible anytime and anywhere when we open our hearts and ask God questions like "what are you trying to teach me today, and what do you want me to know from/throug this," but especially while studying the scriptures and attending church services. I know the spirit can teach us what we need there and then, but it's up to me! Then I will never be bored in any meeting, but I will hear the voice of the Lord guiding me through life!
I just love her examples and her metaphors about the church and it's imperfections and how to cope with them. I still beg that you have me on your podcast so that I can tell my story. But thank you so much for doing these podcasts. I just keep watching until you are completely exhausted of it which I hope never happens.

Thanks for sharing! Great example. I have made a Comment you might enjoy reading.
I really liked Brooke’s comment about a living church will have flaws because a living plant has brown spots.
The word of wisdom and keeping the sabbath day holy is an easy out / a huge sign these fringe groups are phony .
The Sabbath is Saturday. The 7th day of the week isn't Sunday.
The WofW is bullshit. Meat should be a main food source and grain should not be. Carbs, sugars and seed oils cause all sorts of health problems. Meat has all the nutrients one needs to be healthy. Plants contain natural toxins to ward off pests from eating them and plants from the grocery stores are sprayed with pesticides and herbicides. Not healthy.
Favorite comment- "The church doesn't have to be perfect to be true." I also love the article-I'm a Mormon because I'm a feminist.
Loved the metaphor of the living church and a living plant vers a fake plant.
I have so much admiration for those who return. We know that there will be a partial apostasy in the last days. The Savior said so himself. Just so glad that some find their way back.

It is a matter of Prayer and personal Revelation. Adoption is not always the right answer. Some couples who have adopted older children, have had disastrous results.
The very CHURCH that Christ _Himself_ founded during His mortal ministry , was BASED upon a FOUNDATION of Apostles AND PROPHETS , Christ _Himself_ being THE *CHIEF CORNERSTONE* . THIS is a MUST for _any_ Church founded in His bane with HIS AURHORITY in _our_ day - as a RESTORATION of tge IRIGINAL Church of Jesus Christ with the AUTHORITY _given by Christ_ to act in THE NAME OF CHRIST . THAT is how you COMMIT to _Chrust_ *FIRST* . THAT is the PURPOSE and _FUNCTION_ of a PROPHET - to _help_ you FIND *CHRIST* - *_YOURSELF_* .
As far as polygy goes it addressed a major problems 1. It seemed like more woman joined the church or were left ypung widiws. In that time period, there were things that a woman could t do. One of my ancestors married an older widow to provide for her.
2. It adresses in fertility. .My Great grandfather's first wife was infertile but he had a large family with his 2nd wife. The 2nd wife was frail so the first wife helped raise the children. She always claimed they were as much hers as their moms. She was always called Auntie. After his death, the 2 woman combined households.
So polygamy had its good points. We look at it with modern eyes not God's eyes.
Wow, what a ride! It began with a claim being closer to God and ended up with abandoning Jesus. Talk about being "led carefully down to hell." And choosing a direction contrary to one's whole family.
QUESTION: What did Brooke mean by "temple polygamy?"
She is talking about men being being able to be sealed to more than one woman but a woman can only be sealed to one man.
@@Come.Back.Podcast I wonder how many women would like to be sealed to more than one man? I had not wondered that before.
Emma was wife 21 to be sealed to Joseph. Fanny was sealed to him before his wife Emma. 🤣. John Taylor was in his sixties when he married himself to a 15 yr old.
Upon an endowed and sealed woman’s death her family can have her sealed to any or all of her deceased husbands. I absolutely promise this will all work out as desired.
Are these fringe groups kind of a “center of Zion” thing? We have lived in New York, California, Maine and Oregon and never come across them. Grateful!
The eyes see what the mind looks for . It is good to be reading the holly Book of Mormon. Where it says what can I say more be wise . The essence or purposes of life is growth and to become and to overcome. A small baby can grow up and become an adult we can grow up and become more like our Heavenly parents. If I new everything I would be a God I am not a God but neather is a baby an an adult. Life is a great loving opportunity to overcome ourselves and our weaknesses. .
Hello, I am a never mo. But I thought it was a belief in the LDS church that even those who do not accept the fullness of the gospel will get a chance in the next life. If that is the case, doesn't that mean that we have more than 'one shot', as Brooke Fracer stated in 42:33?
yes we do believe that you can accept in the millennium or on the other side of the veil.
Y-T not registering LIKES .
☺
When she was 18 . . . How old is she now?
It would be helpful if we knew WHAT fringe group?
I agree. It sounded like Denver Snuffer at first but unsure.
Can I ask why that information is helpful? Any fringe group would be insubordinate
Leftist Wokeism fringes, extreme Marxism mingled with Gospel fringes, liberalism fringes, libertarianism fringes, feminist extremism, race based hierarchical extremism, they are all busy at work destroying this tiny church. She states 100% correctly that one doctrinal view can take hold and then the domino affect gets going and you fall for no prophets, you fall for no divinely created male and female spirits and bodies, you start to think that only perfect people (so nobody) can be called by God to lead the world, you start to erroneously think homosexual couples will be sealed in the temple someday, or that extreme teachings of the church of Satan like trans agenda-type beliefs are Christ like or that even marriage and families aren’t needed for exaltation. It gets crazy out there. Be careful everyone. The world isn’t coming to an end any time soon but a world of morals and order IS ending soon. Are we going to be strong even when literal death is the penalty for belief?
@@wendyfoster5579 I would surmise that is true.
I agree!
Whats the name of the fringe group lol
It’s a conservative verses progressive way of thinking . Progressive thinking is good until you start thinking you’re smarter than the prophet .
Both are problematic when they are extreme.
Korrihor and Nehor all over again. Satan is real . I bear my testimony satan is real.
Kind of like Brigham Young being our modern day King Noah.
Satan is real? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Can someone please name this author/imposter? What a really crazy form ofapostasy
Denver snuffer
@@rodneyficklin9281 she never said that. I listened to some of his talks and haven't heard even one thing that is contrary to the scriptures.
@seekinglightandtruth then you haven’t read all his later books or heard all of his later talks. The description Brooke gives of her family’s departure whether because of Snuffer or another is very acccurate, from a desire to have a closer relationship w our Savior to eventually atheism. I’ve seen this pattern play out over and over again. Be careful and cautious in your exploration.
What's all this about?
What fringe group is this
What things did they believe that "weren't true"?

I’m a Mormon.
We should believe the Scriptures, not man.
And the Scriptures testify the Mormon Church is the only true Church of Jesus Christ on earth.
But if something is taught that can't be verified by Scripture, think twice about believing it.
I understand why so many people are leaving the church.
Many false doctrines exist causing countless RUclips videos mocking Mormonism.
False doctrines like grandpa gods, (God the Father has a father), Mormons becoming gods of their own planets, Adam helped create the earth, Christ and Satan are brothers, God the Father has rarely spoken in Scripture, the African Americans were bad in the pre-existence; all of which no Scripture verifies.
And each Sunday the Sacrament is tainted because only Elders and Priests can administer but the Deacons prepare/administer and the Teachers pass/administer the Sacrament. (D&C 20:57)
And the Lord says, He’s bound when we do what He says but if not there is no promise. (D&C 82:10)
…that the scriptures might be fulfilled; for ye shall do according to that which is written. (D&C 24:14)
And we wonder why there’s depression, mental illness and other unspeakable events among us?
And many are leaving the church because if you don't fit the mold the church leaders sculpture you're not a part of the click.
Mormons believe the church leaders over Scripture.
The zealous believers have the church leaders in mind with everything thing they think say and feel testifying to impress others how much they believe the current church leaders are God-inspired.
But the Scriptures reveal the church leaders are the problem with the entire planet.
For example,
In 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 we are informed of a person revealed as the son of perdition
This son of perdition sits in the temple of God making himself God or above all that is called God.
Therefore, if the Mormon Church is the only true church, and I believe it is and will back that belief using the Scriptures, then the only person 2 Thessalonians chapter 2 could be talking about is the current Mormon prophet.
For what other church is the one and only true church with temples?
And Joseph Smith taught a son of perdition can only be a church member holding all the rights of God's priesthood and using the priesthood against God as did Judas.
Therefore, who else other than the current Mormon prophet could the apostle Paul be speaking of?
It's as plain as the nose on a face.
And even God in the Doctrine and Covenants tells us about the current church leaders and how displeased He is saying the end of this world will begin among them. (D&C 112:23-26)
Joseph Smith taught the false doctrine of grandpa gods (God the Father has a father) not over the pulpit as a prophet but as a sermon at a funeral, which should not be taken as Scripture fulfilling God’s sayings to Paul, And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: (2 Thessalonians 2:11)
That they might be damned who believed not the truth….(2Thessalonians 2:12)
And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. (Revelation 13:7) (D&C 112:23-26)
And the current Mormon prophet is the son of perdition because he has all the saints believing God our Heavenly Father was created by a being greater than Himself but Scripture says there is no greater than our God. (Hebrews 6:13)
Therefore, the son of perdition has all the saints breaking the first commandment God gave Moses,
Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
Does it make sense to reasonable thinking that God would command we have no other gods before Him but really there are?
Does He not want us to know this?
Why is it a secret?
There’s a reason He commanded to have no other gods before Him.
Because by believing in false grandpa gods the saints believe our God is an infinitely lesser God putting Lucifer before God.
And the moment we put a god before our God, our God becomes an infinitely lesser God.
Not only that, our God also becomes a liar.
He and the Scriptures says He is the greatest of all.
He and the Scriptures says He is the Most High God.
He and the Scriptures say He created all things.
And in the Scriptures He says over and over there are no gods beside Him. (Isaiah 44:6) (Isaiah 44:8) (Isaiah 45:22) (Hebrews 6:13)
Therefore, the saints believing there are gods before Him is the saints believing the son of perdition or the current Mormon prophet over the Scriptures and calling God and the Scriptures a lie.
And Isaiah warns,
Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter! (Isaiah 5:20)
The saints call the son of perdition (President Nelson) good and good (Jesus Christ) evil.
Because President Nelson says Christ and His Father are liars.
President Nelson says Christ did not create all things. (John 1:1-3)
Matter/energy cannot be created or destroyed the scientists say therefore the son of perd. or President Nelson says the grandpa gods created these calling Christ and the Scriptures a lie.
Well did Abinadi warn the wicked king Noah and his priests,
Have ye taught this people that they should observe to do all these things for to keep these commandments? (Mosiah 13:25)
I say unto you, Nay; for if ye had, the Lord would not have caused me to come forth and to prophesy evil concerning this people. (Mosiah 13:26)
And what is the commandment Abinadi taught that the people do not obey?
Thou shalt have no other God before me. (Mosiah 12:35)
Know ye not that I speak the truth? Yea, ye know that I speak the truth; and you ought to tremble before God. (Mosiah 12:30)
And it is a false doctrine to say God our Heavenly Father has rarely spoke to us in Scripture.
(3Nephi 27:26), (3Nephi 24:1). (2Nephi 31:20), (2Nephi 31:11) (D&C 49:20), (3Nephi 20:29) (D&C 49:5), (Moses chapters 1-2)
Beware of the doctrine of the scribes and Pharisees. (Matthew 16:6-12)
Regarding Sunday School being boring ..if you want to experience true boredom...try listening to a long winded Denver Snuffer talk!
Haven't heard a boring one yet, just amazing ones, but I've only heard 2 so far.
Takes the man two bloviating hours to get to a point. I think he likes to hear himself speak. Just my opinion.
Mormonism is boring in general. No matter the break off group. The LDS temple ceremony is even more boring.
I don't find it the least bit boring. That said, so many today think they exist to be entertained. And that's why you have video games and tiktok...
Thank you both Ashley and Brooke! This was for me:) I believe that polygamy is just what the Book of Mormon calls it "an abomination". I cringe at some of stories in the Saints books. I have ancestors who practiced it, but I don't hold it against them. I think we all are doing our best. I don't believe that 132 is pure. When I read it, parts don't ring true at all! The early members of the Church didn't even follow 132 as it is written. I'm grateful for Gwendolyn Wyne and her site. When I found her, I didn't feel alone anymore in my thoughts about polygamy. I pray that polygamy will just be added to Brigham's long list of doctrines that have been denounced and done away with. I believe The Book of Mormon, Joseph, Emma and Hyrum all taught and teach against it.
Negativity?
Because they are questioning?
Better than your credulity.
