Thank You for this video. I just bought a Frigadare stove last week. I am still learning how to use the oven. I was excited it had an air fryer and convection. But seriously I chose this stove for the price, it was on sale and met all my wants. The only difference I can see from yours and mine is I have a griddle, which I love. I have not purchased the air fryer so seeing what you did helped me make my mind up. Thanks again.
My stove has a griddle too. I've only used it a couple of times because I also have a Blackstone griddle outside. It's been a couple of years since I made this video & I still love this oven. I'm glad that you found this info helpful and was able to save you some money. Thanks for watching & commenting!
Hi, TJ! Thanks for doing this small experiment. I have never heard of an oven having air fryer capability, so this was really interesting to see. What really caught my attention was that although the cheesesticks seemed to be about the same when you examined them, you definitely noticed a difference when you ate them. That's interesting for sure. Thanks for sharing!
I still have plenty of practicing to do with the air fryer. It is fun to play with and getting to eat all my experiments is a plus too. Thanks for watching!
That's a pretty neat function to have available! The air fryers seem to be popping up everywhere and I wasn't aware that they incorporated the functionality into a standard convection over! Great review!
I've always avoided an air fryer because I didn't want to give up the counter space so this was a perfect solution. I still need some practice with it but it is pretty fun. Thanks for watching!
I love how quiet the air fry setting on this range is. Not any louder than standard baking and much quieter than a countertop. I'm in love with mine! Mine is model GCRG3060AF if you are curious.
@@CulinaryUndertaking I honestly thought mine wasn't working either but it indeed is. I got some clips of mine running when the kitchen was absolutely silent so you can hear that it is working. Check it out! ruclips.net/video/vW5Gd5Ayw7k/видео.html
Been scrolling thru different vids about this oven with air fryer. Just had ours installed today. I believe having the air fryer basket without the tray being a 1/2" under food would make a much bigger difference, since the tray is impeding air flow circulation. Haven't cooked anything on or in it yet, so can't really comment on the funtions yet. Thanks for vid.
It's been three years now since I made this video and I still don't have the fry basket lol. Still just use the flat sheet pan. I do love the oven though and am happy that I bought it. Good luck with yours and thanks for watching!
@CulinaryUndertaking ordered basket yesterday. I did notice big temp swings when testing it with my thermoworks ambient temp probe in center of oven. It was +/- 25°. Will see what happens when I break it in. Noticed temp probe is located in top left corner of oven, thinking center top would of been more ideal. But I'm no engineer lol.
@@t-reyh5937 I have never uses a thermometer to check the temp but I have never noticed a problem. I also keep a pizza stone in it so maybe that prevents any temp swings from being noticeable. Also I'm not sure if which version would make any difference, I have gas. Electric might act different? I probably shouldn't have ended that sentence with "I have gas" haha.
Thank you for reviewing this oven and actually using the air fry mode. Many reviewers have stated, they can’t use the air fry mode because the oven smokes profusely. I’m now realizing they’re probably not putting anything under the basket. Also, many reviewers mentioned oil on their air fried food. I thought the purpose of an air fryer was to move away from oil, so again it’s my unwarranted assumption that the oil is also contributing to the oven smoking.
I do not use any oil when I use the air fry mode and have never had a smoking issue. I think you're right, because I use the baking sheet. I hope this review helped you. Thanks for watching!
They should be paying you! I was today years old when I learned that you can get an air fryer oven!! I wont go throwing my oven out, but I am moving some time this year, and I will need a new one, so Ill def make sure I get one with that feature. Thanks Tj! Samsung has an air fryer oven that we just installed today. I did notice something about your cut pizza doughs. The baked pizza dough at 6:13 compared to the fryer pizza dough at 6:59 look very different. I like the larger holes in the fryer dough. Also, do you think it would help to rotate the pan halfway through, like a conventional oven? I can't wait to try our fryer!
I don't think it is necessary to rotate food on the air fryer setting because that fan is circulating the air really fast. I haven't noticed hot or cold spots on the air fryer setting. I have found that following the air fryer directions on packaged food doesn't translate to this oven. I just follow the baking directions & temps but set the oven to air fryer mode instead of bake. A little experimenting & playing around and you'll get the hand of it pretty quick. Enjoy your new oven & thanks for watching!
Nice review and oven TJ, love using the convention setting in my old stove. This one does not have so I miss it. The fan goes faster on the air fry setting, I’d like to see that new broiler handle your favorite steak.

Great video. Where did you get the screen that you used for air frying? I just bought the Frigidaire range that has the air fryer function and it didn’t come with anything, especially information about how to use it.
Frigidaire sells an air fry basket that is made to fit the oven but I don't have that. It is not included with the oven. I used a baking sheet with a drying rack which works just the same and I already had it. As far as instructions, they don't help with that either.
