A lot of these tips will work for any air fryer that you have, even though they are geared towards the ones built into some convection ovens. If you liked this video, you might like my review for this range, also: ruclips.net/video/_1Yax4m-wok/видео.html
Thank you, Joe, for this information! I just got a Frigidaire range with an air fryer and can't wait to use it. Now I'll be better prepared to avoid the smoke!
Let me know how it works out for you. For me, doing this stuff cut down about 75% of the smoke I was getting otherwise... I still get a little bit, but nothing like before.
I want to know, is it best to use convection or regular bake to cook steak and potatoes and carrots in a covered pan? On my old stove, I used bake to get all temperatures. Help me with this new stove...Air fryer range.
Hi, Hellestine. If you are going to bake using a covered pan, I would just use the regular bake. The convection is really useful when you have a lot of stuff in there and want to try to get everything cooked as evenly as possible, but if it's in a covered pan, I don't really think it's needed.
@Joe's Phenomenal Thank you. I'm really confused about using my new air fryer range. I have the JGB735 and not use to the convection cooking. Is there a website with temperature and cooking times for air frying?
Hello, I have a gallery air fryer and the last two times I’ve used it the food has burnt because the broiler came on after a while. Why is this happening?
Hmmm... That's interesting. Have you contacted Frigidaire about that? It sounds like maybe it's not maintaining the temperature and the broiler is coming on to compensate? Just a wild guess, though.
Hi Joe. I have the same range. Have you used self clean on yours? Can you use oven cleaner in this range? Mine smokes so bad out the oven vent even when I’m just baking a chicken. I’ve used it enough to burn off any manufacturing residue.
I've used the self clean. It works pretty decent. Don't use oven cleaners though. The chemicals are bad of the oven wall surface unless you get a brand that is specifically made not to damage that. It will usually say it right on the front of the can if it's safe. What kind of oil to you use when you bake? That will make a difference too.
This is why I stopped using this feature so I'm looking forward to watching this video. I actually bought a Ninja air fryer and find it's a lot better. No pre-heat required is a big plus.
I use the ninja for the smaller air fry jobs still. Usually the external vent comes off the top so if you look in the cabinet above the microwave, the vent hose might be visible there if it's run that way.... Typically if it's really loud, it's circulating.... Also you'll be able to feel it venting out of the top front if it's circulating.
Hmm... There's gotta be something in there to burn to produce the smoke though. I have heard that you can get some smoke on brand new machines due to some sort of oil the use on the inside of the oven to make them easier to clean. Not sure how true that is, though. What I heard it that you run a good self clean cycle on it and it's supposed to clear that up. Might be worth a try.
I'm just putting it inside it. But if I'm air frying, like with those wings I showed there, the pan below the air fry tray is just lined with no lid on it.
@@JoesPhenomenal Great thanks for the responses and the video. We got rid of our countertop air-fryer when we bought this oven, and have only air fried twice because of the smoke, so we really want to fix these issues so i am going to follow your tips to the letter. I am getting avocado spray to replace the coconut oil spray too, and getting the broiler pan and doing the foil/parchment trick.
Let me know how it works for ya. I still get a little smoke depending on what I air fry, but before I had to open a door or window or something and hope nobody called the fire department. Haha.
@@JoesPhenomenal Same! Its been very off-puting! We have an open floor plan and the entire room billows with smoke and fog - we have to open the slider door and the windows on the other side of room and turn ceiling fan on. I can't believe this oven made it to market like this. We are also vegan, and not even cooking meats like chicken wings, its literally happening for things like potato slices with olive oil - so now we are using avocado oil
@@RyanHipp the avocado oilnisna big deal... Another tip is to keep the air fry temp at or below the burn temp of the oil... It's in the video but I think it's 450 off the top of my head.... Smoke comes from burning, so if we keep that part down, it helps tons.

Yay! That's awesome. Hopefully this helps!
Very helpful and well explained. Thank you
Thanks, Miss Mimi!!
Thanks Joe you had some great ideas.
You're welcome! I hope those help you out!
Thanks for the info. 🤩
I'm going to have to try the combo of aluminum foil and parchment paper in a broiling pan. Thanks.

I came across this.... Hopefully it helps you out. www.airfryeryum.com/air-fryer-cooking-chart-printable-cheat-sheet/
Doesn't the paper fly around with the hot air circulating?
Not really... It flutters a tiny bit until it gets wet, but not enough to worry about it moving.
It’s has cotton in the oven

Wait a minute... I just realized that my microwave might actually not be venting outside...

@@JoesPhenomenal It was vented right, it's just shitty on my builder grade whirlpool! Can't wait for it to die! LOL.
Lol... It's always something, isn't it?
My has smoke since day without anything in it.

I was told this model of oven you should not use aluminum foil?
Heya Ryan... They are talking about putting foil directly on the oven surfaces. You can line your pans though.
@@JoesPhenomenal Thank you!
Any time.
at 3:39, are you putting parchment paper over the top of the broiler pan top as well as inside it?

Does the air fryer work with gas or electric? thanks
It's all electric. The range requires a 240v outlet with a minimum of 40 amps I believe.
