      if you end up wanting to use it often and you have the space an air fryer is great! I don't use it often enough so for me this works perfectly :) I use the rack all the time though I wish I got the bigger size or the one in my description where it fits into my oven better and slides in/out, good luck with the cooking!

    A lot of air fryers are basically rebadged convection toasters. A real air fryer, however, does have significantly elevated airflow

    I love to cook. Convection Oven is fine. But the fan in an Air Fryer moves 2-3x faster than a standard Convection Oven/Range in a space that is 5x smaller. The hot oil circulating in the air fryer “fries” the food. It’s not perfect. But it uses less energy, cooks 30% faster, and is much easier to clean (not to mention it doesn’t heat up the Kitchen during the Summer months). Since I bought one, I use my Convection Oven/Range 70% less. Well worth the price and convenience.

    I have both a convection oven as well as an air fryer. What I really like about the air fryer is that it takes less power than a actual oven and it also cooks the food quicker. One of my favourite things to cook in the air fryer has to be fish. I live alone so it is perfect.

    Same thoughts. I have a gas oven but my microwave was very very old( a 32 years old Panasonic micro+grill that is still working as new, imagine this)

      can't compare, because i never had a convection oven, but i'm happy with it.
      and i use a lot the crisper pan; these ferrite bottom pans are a game changer for microwave; for example i like more the fries made in crisper pan (micro+grill) than the ones done with convection.
      i bought a smaller size version, Panasonic NN-CD575MEPG ( ruclips.net/video/d1MCKtyPzsk/видео.html ) , but still has a large plate - 34cm. Probably Panasonic NN-CS88LBEPG is even better, but i had no room for it.

      AAWWW! Finally! So happy someone had my same experience. I have got a 22 year old 40 litre Sharp (R84STM) that is Microwave/Convection and Top and Bottom Grill, plus a tons of set programmes (pizza, jacket potatoes, fries). It was the most expensive gadget we bought at the time as we were renovating a kitchen and thus we cooked everything in it. To say that I am madly in love with this appliance is a real understatement. And in 22 years I have never used the Dual Cooking mode. But I have started now, as my thinking was: can this functions mimic the airfryer?. In short: YES. It's difficult and complex stuff, because one has got TONS of combinations possible. By adding the lowest settings of a microwave (10% and 30%) the cooking time is amazingly reduced. BIG TIME. We are talking food that is ready in less than 10 minutes. From frozen. I am still experimenting and want to explore more, but I am truly impressed. My old friend has got even a bigger place in my heart now. Certainly Sharp didn't make a profit with my purchase. But they can be really proud of their product.

    • @cometahyakutake9375
      @cometahyakutake9375 2 месяца назад +1

      Besides, the oven reaches 250 degrees Celsius and airfryers don't get that high, and pizza and bread need a very hot oven. So my suggestion is: put the money for an expensive multifunction combi microwave and problems are solved.

      it does have its benefits I'll give you that. It's smaller, less power, faster, you can easily take the basket out and shake it mid way for cooking, easy to clean, but it takes up more room, is another appliance to manage. I have debated about getting one myself but I don't know if realistically I'd use it all that often and with limited counter space, it would be stored away making it even less convenient = less usage.

    I would say that I have had oil annoyingly stick to my silpat mats, which I didn’t like. But I don’t mind my pana turning brown and forming a layer of oil. This is actually good as it seasons the pan and makes it more non stick, and just like cast iron and carbon steel pans, shouldn’t be washed with soap/detergent, which will make the pan sticky. Just hit it with hot water and a chain mail a scrub. Don’t worry about “bacteria” or “growth”. Next pre-heating you’ll be burning everything off anyway. Also don’t worry about that oven door getting funky either!
    People who obsess over their pans etc. Looking brand new don’t realise that the seasoning not only is helpful but also shows that they’re making use of their tools. A browned pan looks great imho.

  • @neoduke007
    @neoduke007 7 месяцев назад +2

    I think why everyone loves the air fryers is that they are just easier to clean and you can also put a basket full of fries for example, whereas in an oven you can't cook the same quantity of fries and "flipping" the fries is easy in an air fryer you just take the basket dump it out into something and dump it back into the basket, there are even air fryers out there that have a built in automatic rotation function (basically a bottom on the fryer that stirs the food during the cooking so you don't need to flip it
    But going back to the basket style air fryers, flipping a basket full of fries you literally just take the basket, shake the fries and pop the basket back in
    On an oven you can't cook that quantity of fries and flipping many fries is a nightmare with ovens. I've been there and done that never again 🤣
    The reason it is called an air "fryer" is because you can use more oil than you can with a fan oven. Because of the design of the heating element, the splatter of food is contained within the basket rather than going everywhere in your oven. In an oven if oil splatters it will go to the bottom/top/sides of the oven which are burning hot and then the oil will burn and smoke up and ruin the food and foul up your house
    An air fryer as the oil is contained within the basket and the heating element is far enough away with only the air coming into contact with the oil and not the burning hot oven walls, you don't get that effect
    Some air fryers even have oil drips that you fill and it will release oil into the food during the cooking process. A fan oven simply doesn't do this
    There are air fryers out there that are literally just mini-ovens, but the basket style air fryers, the self stirring air fryers and the ones with oil drips offer actual benefits over an oven and really are a different way of cooking that you can't do with a fan oven

I bought wire baskets and frankly the food took nearly twice as long to cook and I could never get as crispy as in an air fryer. I know they're not as easy to clean as the basket style but I think it would be hella versatile. I have about the same amount of space as you have but it's just one room as opposed to having an island dividing a larger space (ooooolllld house). My air fryer replaces many device and it is 32 quarts so it can do massive amounts of food. Who even uses their oven anymore? Takes too long and cost to much money and energy to heat up especially if you just want a small quick meal using an oven makes no sense. Especially when heating costs are through the roof this is a big deal. Not to mention heats up the whole house in the summer. Ovens are like VCRs they will go the way of the dodo bird. People think air fryers are new but they've been around since the 1940s. Time is precious and air fryers save time. Anything that saves time is a must have item in my book as nothing is more important that the limited time we have on this Earth. Plus you can them for fairly cheap so no reason to cheap out and end up wasting time you will never get back trying to save a few pennies. Plus no thawing or preheating in most cases. Plus some can even use delay timers and set temperature and timer automatically through an app and you can control and watch your air fryer remotely so you won't forget or burn your food. Also some will shut off automatically if you use a temperature probe and it the temperature is reached it will shut off by itself so you never burn or over cook your food. I only use my oven to store pots and pans in. With an air fryer you can cook outside or near a window so you don't have to deal with cooking smells inside your house. Some houses and many apartments don't have a real exhaust vent to the outside an only an oil vapor catch filter which isn't really good at getting rid of all the smoke and odors.
    Plus anybody that has to clean an oven know it is a pain and really hard as you have to bend down and break your back. With a air fryer it is at the right level and you can move it to whatever level you want so you don't kill your back cleaning it like the oven which is often very low. You can also move it around the house and put on the dinner table if you want or in the backyard and have the family cooking and talking together more which is priceless. You can run an extension cord. You can't do that with your built in oven. You don't have to be alone in the kitchen away from everyone else. Always look at the totality and the big picture when making any decisions. I use my air fryer multiple times a day and hardly even use the microwave expect for the few occasions. Never used my oven at all. My air fryer can roast a 14lb chicken or small turkey. If you want to cook more just get air fryers. You can cook two different things at different temperatures at the same time you can't do that in one oven. Plus even with two air fryers going it is still using less electricity than an oven as it more efficient and still heating less area and cooking faster so less electricity is used.

      I do cover that in the video! 😉 The main difference is the air fryer is meant for that specific use, smaller, uses less energy, you could also shake the basket, could be easier to clean.

      @@GadgetsGearCoffee Get a Ninja Speedy airfryer. It is more versatile. Or Ninja grill which is basically an airfryer.

    Interesting video, I am mostly looking for healthier fries. I dont like the idea of spray oil, probably expensive and shit quality. Better put the potato in a bowl and mix it in some oil.

    One of the silliness video I’ve seen about the subject, for small quantities there is no comparison, an air fryer is much faster. For someone who hasn’t got an air fryer she is in no position to make such a video!

    I have a big enough kitchen to have 2 air fryers when im cooking on my own or me n wife its quicker and perfect if you have young kids and not a lot of time, anything bigger goes in the oven

      you use 2 air fryers at the same time with the same food in it? why not use the oven in those instances?

      @@GadgetsGearCoffee no usually 2 different things, just quicker than preheating, my old oven takes a while, but agree an oven is fine for most people

      @@SamJonesMediaHUD that's a great point you bring there, old oven VS a newer oven that may heat up faster

    You could probably use parchment paper instead of the mat. You can just throw it away instead of cleaning the mat

      1. Don't need another appliance
      2. Don't use it enough

      Funny you should say that. I am getting something on pre order, so will me months, but am planning to include some light ASMR because it's quite relevant to the particular product/hobby category, stay tuned!
