    You should specify that you need a glass pane that is not two pieces of glass. Otherwise you will get double reflection, making it impossible to read the text.

      I believe the glass they use in teleprompters is beamsplitter glass. But if you can find a thin enough piece of glass it might negate the double reflection too.
      I also managed to make a functioning one using a thin sheet of (easily scratched) clear plastic from a large picture frame.

    Great show, finding you & others just saved me what could have been a 900 dollar spend for a "pro" unit. RE costs, in Australia; glass frame, about $7, bits... Tape I'd use gaffa (NASA black tape), the electric tape might fail. Has it? Roll of Gaffa $20, but you'd only use less than a 1000th of a roll, I have a roll of gaffa in my tool bag that's been slowly scrolling off over 30 years. I'm very conservative with my tape. That bit of wire in hardware store; $1. The folder $2.
    I'll be copying your method, fantastic.
    4:00 if you don't want to see the preamble. A good preamble, but internet is all about speed now sir; the hook, straight to the point is a win win. Maybe do the discussion at the end not the beginning... so that viewers are energized to watch the content, as after the preamble I felt distracted & tired of the show. Regards, the police.

    • @RogerAVHansen
      @RogerAVHansen  3 года назад +1

      I made a stand for the teleprompter by turning a cheap third party gorilla pod (bought on eBay) up side down and taping it to a regular light stand. Then I placed the teleprompter on the legs of the gorilla pod. The advantage of this is that you can move the legs of the gorilla pod around to balance the teleprompter in front of the camera.
      Hope this was explained in a way so you understand what I mean 😊

Quick question, what do you think about using powerpoint in a teleprompter? with ppt-mirror.com tool slides can be mirrored-flipped for a smartphone to be used in a teleprompter, in control of BT remote or pedal page flip, Would this option leads my speech to your level ( naturalness) :-)

      I’ve never used PowerPoint with the teleprompter, so I’m not the right person to answer unfortunately. But if you know the program, and feel comfortable with it, just give it a try 😊 If you haven’t been in front of a camera that much and you feel like you’re struggling to sound natural, my best advice is to just practice, practice and practice 😊 The beauty of RUclips is that you decide what to upload for others to see. In the filming process you can mess up, try again as many times as needed and just cut out the bloopers in the editing process 😊 Practice is the key 😊

    • @RogerAVHansen

      I don’t know if you do this, or if I understand your problem correctly, but you need to cover the lens and the back of the teleprompter with something that doesn’t let light through. Something like a black t-shirt, so you don’t get any reflection in the glas... 😊

The thing is that there are two reflections, and I think the one is from the front surface of the gless and the other one is from tha back surface.
