The string skipping of Blackened's main riff absolutely takes the cake. Even if the speed ain't too bad, it'll get your arms burning eventually. Also match it with the fact that the rest of the verse and pre-chorus doesn't even give you a single 8th note to rest. Through the Never isn't a cakewalk either
The string skipping isn’t even the worst part, I’m doing more than fine with that. The part that messes me up is the tail. Going 7 freaking frets down the board to perfectly hit a single power chord for an eigth note and doing all that cleanly without missing the rest of the tail as well….goddamn
I remember when I decided to learn Master of Puppets. It took my few weeks, working more then hour a day, but now riffs like Creeping Death (which was impossible to me before) are easy
Think that's the way to do it tbh, Puppets is a great song to get your rhythm playing really up there. Was one of the first songs I sat down and learned and holy shit pushing yourself like that pays dividends a few years down the line. Happy strumming :)
Great video! Just for creeping death, know that the B to C is a hammer-on and pull-off and it shouldn't be muted. Also I don't think there should be an E Major chord there 😂
This song heavily employs the E phrygian dominant scale, so resolving to E major makes a lot of sense here and also sounds killer imo. The rest of the riff he is playing wrong tho
Hey man, check out the live video from 89 where they play the four horsemen. It’s played on the lower frets using open strings. Sounds way better this way. Good job though, as I learned from the tab too and was playing that way.
Blackened, and master of puppets are songs I use specifically to practice downpicking. if you’re into megadeth, tornado of souls is good training as well.
I always practice blackened and trough the never then i play blackened the seattle 89 versin and i do the same with the gallops , i play the studio versiom first and then the seattle 89 version it's cool cuz it works D
Я и не знаю с кем сравнивать вашу игру, разве что Браун, Уотерс, даже не знаю кто так четко играет еще (сашка блинов и фред😂😂😂))))... Это невероятно точно, браво!
Been practicing my down-picking for the last 9 months. (Started playing last year) my speed is pretty good but incorporating some of the slides and hammer on sequences in with the down-picking... holy shit its tough
Cool of course, but can u play Dyers Eve? I'd love to hear that shit! Also, what is the hardest or most challenging Metallica song you've learned and why? Killer tho man.
Blackened is the hardest one to play, and is also the end

Holy shit dude, one take? You are a machine! Great video!

You played all the riffs in one take, thats badass
Your playing looks very good visually, it is very relaxed
Right, no tension at all!
He plays some Creeping Death and MoP parts wrong but he's so good
Actually, whole Kill 'Em All great for improving downstroke
Ackchyually, from Kill ´Em All to And Justice For All is great for improving downstroke
At 0:50 I thought you were about to transition into blitzkrieg
It's also a great downpicking song
Great video! Just for creeping death, know that the B to C is a hammer-on and pull-off and it shouldn't be muted. Also I don't think there should be an E Major chord there 😂
James often plays an e major/e minor live between the riffs, Kirk does not. I think it’s an e minor but this guy isn’t too far off
he miss the hammer on pull off.

@@martinferreira9401 Even if it makes sense, it just sounds wrong after listening to the original song for years
@@martinferreira9401 the tab book want you too do the E major.
no remorse is great for down and alternate. Jump in the fire I pick alternate but its originally down picked, down picking that is some exercise
No remorse is just great in general lmao. Love that chorus riff

Sounds good, nice timing! Remember, It's ok to use alternate picking and just get good at making it so no one can tell the difference
You can definitely tell the difference haha. It's still good to be good at both
@@criddlegakes2650 Not in the mix, depends on the riff... I already proved this

Awesome precision man, just the Creeping death is slightly different I feel. The hammer/pull off notes that is.
OMG I had watched a video at double speed before this one and then this started and I just thought how tf is he playing this fast lmao

I really only use master of puppets and some of raining blood to practice downstrokes

Is blackened all downstrokes !?
there is a single upstroke because of a single 16th note but rest is down
Playing most of them just a little wrong and the sound is, well, weak. That being said, you do got skills.
Your forget the blitzkrieg
i am an acoustic player, its much harder
How about improving that deepstroke;)
That wasnt tge riff of creeping death bro
