I have been doing this routine for over a year now. Every time before playing anything else I play this and two other of your routines. I have now noticed the importance of finger practise and my playing has improved more than ever. I owe you big time, your videos are so helpful. Thank you BERNTH!
Dear BERNTH, we need more workouts like yours on RUclips. It’s so much more fun and encouraging to practice along with someone. Almost no one else does them. Please consider doing a: -Full Rhythm Workout -Vibrato Workout -Chords Workout -Hybrid Picking Workout -8 Finger Tapping Workout -Slapping Workout -Harmonics Workout -Muting Workout I would happily add all of these to my practice routine, and I’m sure they would be very helpful to a lot of people. Keep shredding, you’re the best teacher on RUclips when it comes to anything technique-related!
@@Johnnysmithy24 afaik there are already some nice workouts - staying close to the fret board with the left hand -> “Economy in motion” - chord theory (afaik plenty of them, I created a playlist for that based on Bernth’s videos ruclips.net/p/PLInB9bZfaMEhFgPOdjG6CuNX-nsyJ6d3W) Regarding the rest of your list: 🤝
Not only are you a beast when it comes to playing the guitar, your teaching techniques are insanely spot on. After playing for almost 10 years without using my little finger on my fretting hand (injury related, and never really got confident enough to use it!), it took no more than 5 days to play your workout at 100 bpm ... have a long way to go, and am nowhere as smooth as you are, but I feel super confident that i'll make good progress. YOU ARE THE MAN!!!
BERNTH, my man. I can’t thank you enough. After 13 years of playing guitar with plenty feelings of stagnation, I was able to reach level 11 after practicing for half an hour! That’s way better than I thought I’d ever do. Whatever blockage I’ve had all these years has finally been broken. Thanks to you, I have hope again, and the world seems a lot brighter. Much love!

Hi Bernth, i'm from Ukraine, now i work in the rear, and guitar become a way to distract from the war. Wanted to learn something like a shred and accidentally got on your channel and very like it, you show cool things in good way, thank you! And i was also surprised by your video about the concert in support of Ukraine. Thank you and all people for support, it is really important to feel that we are not alone
After a few days, my plateau around 90bpm has me practicing this all over the fretboard. I've learned it by ear and this workout has expanded my improvisation skills so much already. Thanks for sharing!
Day 1:90BPM Day 2:100BPM Day 3:110BPM Day 4:110BPM Day 5:120BPM Day 7:130BPM Day 9:140BPM Day 10:140BPM Day 11:150BPM Day 12:150BPM Day 13:160BPM very sloppy Day 14:160BPM still very sloppy Day 15:160BPM slightly better Day 16:150BPM Day 17: back at 140
Day 1: Problems memorizing patterns.... 20 min practice, I finally passed through level 1(50 bpm). Decided to practice 20 min more. The wrist of the fretting hand hurts a bit, probably because I'm not used to it. Made it to 90 BMP without a mistake. Had a quick look and 100, seems easy, but enough for today. I think I should focus on my pinky and just generally minimize movement. Day 2: I had a few mistakes on 50 bpm, then it went good till 100 BMP, I couldn't stay in sync with the video so I closed it and started to play with a metronome. Passed 100 bpm but was not very consistent at it. I need to be more precise.
Thanks Bernth for this very useful workout video.🙏 It's part of my daily routine for more than one month now!Your challenges are the core of my training as I'm trying to become more focused and more regular to be able to reach a better level especially on lead guitar! 🙌
Between you and Ben Eller's great exercises I might just be the best guitar player in the world, but we'll never know because I spend 4 hours a day doing cool picking exercises instead of playing guitar ;)
That's fun. I'm no shredder (yet), so I had to work my way up from 40 bpm with a metronome until I could play along with the first round. 60 defeated me instantly! 😅 Still, I love that this is a musical workout and not just a chromatic exercise. and I'll try again tomorrow morning.
I'm consistently on 60 bpm now. 70 works sometimes, but sometimes I'm dropping out from the backing track as well. What I'm noticing is that 50 bpm is now far more clear and precise as well.
@@symphonicdualityband Thanks man. I hadn't done the workout in a while, but today I passed 80 pretty stably and could play along at 90 for a bit. I think it's really a good exercise.
Kinda impressed with myself. 😂. Just found this video three days ago. Hit 90 bpm once lol. I think I did a bad thing and looked ahead to 200 bpm. Disheartening.. won't do that again. Head down focus on beating my own personal record. This is a fun workout though, enjoying it. My 48 year old hands are letting me know I'm doing something. Not sure how fast I'm going to be able to get but I'm up for it. Thanks Bernth. Love your videos
Day 1: started with 35 bpm. I can really feel the strain on both the hands and am trying play with synchronization of both hands. Day 2: did it on 45 bpm. I am feeling more comfortable with the workout.
Hi Bernth, you've over 100+ technique lessons in your channel. Well, thanks a lot for that. But do you think you could maybe help out beginners to gradually learn from those lessons - basically am asking in which order should a beginner follow those lessons.
This would be a great start for beginners. Remember….go slow and do a lot of rewinding to get it down before you move on. It’s hard but with patience and perseverance you will get it. Best of luck on this guitar journey.
Check out Ben Eler! He has an awesome series of videos called “this is why you suck at guitar” that goes over a bunch of techniques! Rock on brother!🤟🤟
Still struggling with Levels 1 and 2, but also for total guitar noobs like me it is a lot of fun. Isolating the hands (picking transitions only playing dead notes or just trying to hit the frets with the other hand only) along with this video is a great beginner workout, too. Thanks Bernth !!
A few things I'd like to point out with this exercise - which no-one else seems to have mentioned - the degree of difficulty also depends on what kind of guitar you have. I have a 1960's Strat - so obviously I can't do this exercise on that - I have a Les Paul - which again makes it pretty hard to get to the 22 fret easily ( at least with my small hands!) - I dug out a modern LTD guitar which I rarely used and then hey presto the exercise was much easier. From that I take it that a "shredder" type guitar is much more suitable for these exercises?
Jan, 25, 2023. Level 1. Been playing bass guitar for 10 years (just my fingers). Picking has been challenging. This workout is a part of my mornings in the efforts of improving my playing. Thank you very much!
Jan, 29, 2023. Definitely made progress. I can comfortably play this workout at 70 bpm. Noticed a positive change in the way I play string instruments in general.
day 1: 100 BPM day 2: 110 day 3: 120 day 4: 120 / 130 day 5: 120/130 day 6: 130 day 7: 130 day 8: 130/140 day 9: forgot to play day 10: 130/ 140 day 11: 140
I like doing broken third or sequence exercises of regular 3NPS scales at the 12th fret using my first three fingers and not the pinky. Really forces the 2nd and 3rd finger to stretch apart. Also that fast "tapping like" riff in the tornado of souls solo really helped me stretch a lot. I worked on it for months and was ready to give up in the first 4 weeks :D
I like this so much that I beat it, and decided to keep going... Today is the 4th day and I got up to 240bpm \,,/ Thank you Bernth, you are a true master!
After about a week I've gone from my first day being at 80 to today being at 130. Definitely love these workouts you've been doing hoping to keep working on these and become a way more precise player
31.12.2022 - still learning the pattern, convincing 60 bpm 1.1.2023 - 70 bpm 2.1.2023 - 80 bpm 8.1.2023 - finally at least average 90 bpm 18.2.2023 - after not practicing since tuesday last week and playing again after a week at least sloppy, but listenable to 100 bpm (i also lowered my string action today) 23.2.2023 - 110 bpm 22.3.2023 - another week long break, also switched to 0.009 strings, 120 bpm
Me yesterday night: “Ah, this can’t be that hard, I’ll try it tomorrow”. Me today: Struggles to even do the stretches. Hahaha Edit: I needed to warm up first. Now I’m doing it lvl 1 🤘 I simply can’t play this without pain in my hands with classical technique. I might be in trouble as I get faster, but I’m much more comfortable with my hands slightly slanted.
I have the same problem with the hand position. It just means our left hand is weak. Keep practicing it with consistency and it'll get there before you know it.
I've been putting in the practice for the last four days and it's awesome to be reminded of what it was like when I first started playing guitar nearly two decades ago: practice pays off and you can see the results. I was getting stuck at 100 BPM a few days ago but now I'm pretty comfortable at 120. Awesome videos.
Sir….you are my hero! If I could play like Sodo from Ghost or Herman Li from Dragonforce, and add my own touches to it, I’m bowing down to you. I already know how to bend the strings and do the tapping, but as a return guitarist re-learning everything, this is golden.
Wonderful workout. I'm not a metal guitarist, but this just helps everybody's picking technique to advance, no matter what style someone is into. Thank you!
Day 1 06-17: Learn + reach 150. Sloppy left hand e-string work. Thumb wasn't behind fretting fingers. Now more comfortable to stretch. Will apply tomorrow. B**ch to unlearn. Day 2 06-18: 160 barely. High E string still problematic. Did some ring+index finger separation practice. Helped. Day 3 06-19: 170, touched 180 then went back to a semi-clean 170. 160 is virtually clean now.

June 28th 2023- started workout. had to start on 0.5x speed on the first exercise then 0.75x, memorizing the notes as to not rely on the tab. After an hour of practice, I was finally able to play the first round. Been playing guitar since COVID
Hey BERNTH, I’m a recent subscriber and this was my first time watching the video and attempting the workout. And I have to say… this is honestly one of the most fun, challenging, and useful workouts I’ve ever done. I made it to 140 on my first try through and can already feel my fingers improved. So many workouts become uninteresting after a few attempts; this one however makes me want to keep at it again tomorrow. Thank you for the great content!
My fingers somehow get tied in a knot every time I try to play something else than power chords in drop D, so I figured this would help. Wish me luck. Day 1: learned the first 2 bars at 25 bpm Day 2: completed level one at half speed Day 3: completed level one at 75% speed Day 4: completed level one at 75% speed Day 5: first played level one at 75% speed, then tried to play it full speed. Day 6: went back to level one at 75% speed, paid extra attention to my thumb placement. Also having a bit of trouble reaching the 22nd fret with my pinky. Day 7: first played level one at 75% speed, then tried level two at 75%. Day 8: first played level one at 75% speed, then played level two at 75%. Somehow forgot everything I've learned in the beginning. Day 9: first played level one at 75% speed, then played level two at 75%. Went a lot better than yesterday. Day 10: first played level one at 75% speed, then played level two at 75%. Mainly focused on other things like rhythm today Day 11: Finally got up to full speed on level one. Day 12: level one at full speed again Day 13: level one at full speed again, tried level two. Day 14: Couldn't practice due to my birthday Day 15: Got to level two again Day 16: level two, tried level three for the bantz but failed Day 17: Couldn't get passed 50 bpm today, despite grinding for 20 minutes Day 18: While I was struggling again with level two, it went a lot better than yesterday Day 19: Level two, no problems again Day 20: Still level two, probably gonna be a while before I get to level 3 Day 21: Still at 60bpm Day 22: ya guessed it, 60bpm Day 23: Struggled with 60 bpm again, not feeling well today as well Day 24: 60 bpm again Day 25: Stayed in bed due to sickness Day 26: New guitar finally arrived, I still have to get used to it. But for this day I got to 50 bpm. Day 27: Getting used to it. Although, holy mother of fuck, I can't get my fingers to synchronize. It has never been this bad. Day 28: Finally back at 60 bpm. Day 29: Felt sick again. Day 30: got to 70 bpm. Day 31: 70 bpm, but not as good as yesterday Day 32: Getting better at 70 bpm, making less errors Day 33 to 35: Was too busy to practice Day 36: back to 60 bpm Day 37: 60 again Day 38: 60 Day 39: Almost 70, but still 60 Day 40: 60 Day 41: 70 Day 42: 60 Day 43: 70 Day 44: 70 Day 45: 70 Day 46: 70 Day 47: 70 Day 48: 70 Day 49: 70 Day 50: 60 Day 51: 60 Day 52: 70 Day 53: 70 Day 54: 70 Day 55: 70 Day 56: 70 Day 57: 75 Day 58: 80 Day 59-61: took a break Day 62: 70 Day 63: 70 Day 64: 70 Day 65: 70 Day 66: 60, it's getting cold and I'm having trouble moving my hands Day 67: 70 Day 68: 60 Day 69: 70 Day 70: 70 Day 71: 75 Day 72: 60 Day 73: 60 Day 74: 70 Day 75: 80 Day 76: 70 Day 77: 70 Day 78: 60, trying out jazz picks for the first time Day 79: 70 Day 80: 70 Day 81: Christmas Day 82: 75 Day 83: 70, Some days I can't seem to hold a steady straight 16th rhythm and accidentally play a swing at higher speed Day 84: 75 Day 85: 80 Day 86: 75 Say 87 & 88: Day off, celebrating new year with some friends Day 89: 75 Day 90: 75 Day 91: Break Day 92: 75 Day 93: 70 Day 94: 80 Day 95: 75 Day 96: Break Day 97: 75 Day 98: 70 Day 99: 80 Day 100: 75 Day 101: 80 Day 102: 75 Day 103: 80 Day 104: 80 Day 105: 82,5 Day 106: 90 Day 107: 90, tried 100 Day 108: 75, practice genuinely went so ass, I had to puke Day 109-117: Took a break due to illness Day 118: 75 Day 119: 80 Day 120: 75 Day 121: 80 Day 122: 80 Day 123: 80 Day 124: 80 Day 125: 90 Day 126: 90 Day 127: 90 Day 128: 90 Day 129: 90 Day 130: 90 Day 131: 90 Day 132: 80 Day 133: 90 Day 134: 80
never believed in those. reached 80BPM. after 2 weeks i am on 110BPM at a clean play. 120BPM is not rly clean so i have to push it forward. THANKS BERNTH! my fingers getting faster in such a short time. "thumbs up"
November 17th Stuck at 130 for a week Anyone got any tips on how to break a speed barrier? It’d be much appreciated! And as always thank you Bernth for another amazing workout video!
Day 1 - Totally Begginer with this kind of exercise lmao, get 50 bpm Day 2 - Got the 60 and 70 bpm, I'm proud of myself Day 3 - Got the 80, and struggling a bit with the 90 Day 4 - 90 bpm more easy, but struggling a bit yet Day 5 - Trying a differente picking approach, now all the bpm became more easier to do, 90 way more easier Day 6 - 90 bpm finally caughted! Now in 100 Day 7 - SKIPPED Day 8 - Got the 100, now trying 110 in another picking approach
This is quite fun! I started it Day 1: lvl 5 clean, lvl 6 unclean, lvl 9 impossible… Im on fire getting this challenge! Day 2: lvl 7 got cleaner Day 3: lvl 9 clean, lvl 10-11 unclean 🤯
An interesting variation to this workout is to play the second pass at each velocity one octave lower. That way, the stretches get a little larger and you can cover more of the fretboard.
5/22/23 Day 1: Got to 80 (fingering is weird and completely not how I'm used to playing fast or how i normally play scales) Day 2: Got to 90 but a bit sloppy Day 3: Made it to 100 made sure 90 was clean first Day 4: Still at 100 Day 5: Pushed to 130 but sloppy. Will clean this up Day 6: Still around 120. Day 7: 120 Day 8: Stuck at 120 with hand cramping and poor accuracy
Playing along a little over 80 Playing on my own I’ve gotten up around 110 The trickiest part for me is the middle finger positioning definitely not something I’m used to but I can see how it all flows together
Dec 13, 2023 I am well over 5 minutes and have finally just learning the notes to do without needing to follow video. Pretty positive I did not even make the 50 bpm. HOLY CRAP DEC 27TH WE HIT 70 BPM!
Hi I have returned Dec, 14 and I can pretty much do 50 BPM its alittle sloppy though and my pick hand messed up the cords BUT I can do 50 BPM so we beat yesterday!
Dec 15 I am annoyed because I can do it but my fingers like to mess up the last two notes. It doesnt sound clean enough either so super frustrating. I can pretty much do the speed of 60 but it doesnt sound good :/
Dec 19th extremely annoyed still at 50 BPM its like my fingers wont move or I like try to have a relaxed picking hand then baby tap the strings so I dont actually play a note. I can see why people quit in the first year I am frustrated.
Thanks for this really cool technique workout. Starting from yesterday I added it to my daily routine. Day 1 just get the notes correctly :-D . I was wondered by mself that the hardest part was the jump from 17th fret on the e-sring to 20th fret on the b-string. But now I managed this and will go on. Achievement for tomorrow mastering 70 bpm. Even if it sounds not really fast it is not as easy as I thought. So I need patience to get not frustrated :-D .
Day 1: 130bpm Day 2: after practicing molto perpetuo by Paganini all night by recommendation of Bernth I reached 150bpm. Day 3: 160bpm but it was quite sloppy. After a bit of practice it was more coherent. Day 4: Not much progress today, still 160bpm.
Took a break and circled through a bunch of different exercises and riffs but have checked back in regularly, now hovering around level 11/12 after 7 months
Started: APRIL 7TH 2024 day 1 : Getting used to the pattern can do 50 BPM but not perfectly day 2 : Close to perfecting 50 BPM , attempting 60 whilst polishing playstyle day 3 : Perfected 50 BPM , comfortable at 60 BPM pushing for 70
I realised something that first you need to decide where your goal is. Today i can learn a 200 bpm solo grinding 5 months but if you dont practice for 7 days, your hand will keep getting worse. So you need to keep the guitar playing in check during your whole life. You leave it for some days or vacation, you lose very much progression with it. If you can keep your calm and dont get frustrated while re-adapting the practices, then its fine. Otherwise if you dont seek to train insane, its really hard for you to nail these exercises or infact fast guitar playing. Its some next level things.
Sep 2 - Took a while to learn the lick in the first place, but then felt more comfortable at 60bpm than 50. 70 was almost doable but not cleanly. 80 was not really possible. Sep 3 - Disappointed by a lack of progress, still kind of stuck at 70. Sep 4 - Still not great progress, but practiced the lick a lot without and with playing along. Ended up almost clean at 70 but not completely satisfied. 80 was possible to attempt but very sloppy. Sep 5 - Not mcuh progress, 70 almost, 80 bpm a bit better but not really clean. Sep 8 - Coming back to it, it's suddenly much better. 70 pretty clean and 80 almost clean, needs a little work, still happy with some progress. 90 quite a struggle, 100 impossible.
Progress so far: week 1-3 could not play the exercise through at all at any speed! Little pinkie did not behave at all for a long time. Week 3-4: finally got on the board and could do 50 consistently.. whoop! Week 5-6: now up to 70 reliably. Stuck on 80 currently...
Playing rhythmguitar for over 15 years now, my leadguitar player convinced me to do solos as well... i don´t feel at home shredding but play more soulful and melodic stuff. I tried to learn the solo from seek and destroy for two months but couldn´t do it anyway near. I tried this lesson for two weeks now almost daily, but i can´t get over 80 bpm without mistakes... maybe shredding is not for everyone!
Day 1: reached, but not quite perfected 60bpm. It's a start. Day 2: practised 60bpm and reached 70bpm. Day 3: managed to reach 80bpm, but have to clean up my playing. Day 4: practised 80bpm. Day 5: back after four practice-less busy days, still practising 80bpm. Day 6: getting closer to 90bpm.
for anyone discouraged they are getting stuck at a certain speed, i was at 90bpm for well over a month (almost daily practice) and finally made it to 100 today!
Day 1: 90 bpm with inconsistency Day 2: stuck at 90 bpm slightly smoother Day 3: pushed upto 100 bpm with minor inconsistencies Day 4: slightly better at 100 bpm Day 5: definitely better at 100 bpm can play upto 110bpm but only halfway through
day 1 : 50 bpm day 2: didnt really have time to practice day 3: 60 - 70 bpm day 4: 60 - 70 bpm day 5: 70 - 80 bpm day 6: 50 bpm lol day 7: 70 -80 bpm day 8 : i didnt really practice day 9 : 80 bpm day 10: 80 bpm

what string size do you use ?
I am already able to play this at 12bpm. I also added some random ghostnotes !
Moooood
Omg. The random ghosts notes had me in tears.
I'm like "That's 20 done, and this one right here must be 22"
Just banging my head very slowly.. Look at the video, look at guitar
My favorite song is at 12bpm! 😆
I got sure didn't see it coming IMAO

Not only are you a beast when it comes to playing the guitar, your teaching techniques are insanely spot on. After playing for almost 10 years without using my little finger on my fretting hand (injury related, and never really got confident enough to use it!), it took no more than 5 days to play your workout at 100 bpm ... have a long way to go, and am nowhere as smooth as you are, but I feel super confident that i'll make good progress. YOU ARE THE MAN!!!

I've been playing guitar since 2015 and started playing seriously for less than a year and your workouts and tips have helped me a lot

That is a very good idea. Thank you very much.
Awesome video man! My guitar doesn't have a 22nd fret so I just moved it down to the 12th fret. Let's rock!

"Using your arm like this, a stiff full arm motion" and grins as the camera cuts away ;)
Saw it and went straight to the comments to see if anyone noticed
road to 69 likes bro
He is a guitarist. He is used to that motion too.
I also skipped the guitar nonsense and went straight ahead to practice my stiff full arm motion.
In a nutshell don’t practice scale while watching porn.
Where’s day 3
Clean 200 bpm today for the first time 😎 Thanks Bernth👍
Level 1, but had the pattern consistent after a while. Perfect timing for this video, I'm in need of some chop building exercises, thanks 🥇

You’re awesome thank you for all these awesome videos.
How did it go? Did you make the video?
Thanks Bernth for this very useful workout video.🙏 It's part of my daily routine for more than one month now!Your challenges are the core of my training as I'm trying to become more focused and more regular to be able to reach a better level especially on lead guitar! 🙌
Between you and Ben Eller's great exercises I might just be the best guitar player in the world, but we'll never know because I spend 4 hours a day doing cool picking exercises instead of playing guitar ;)
I am a new fan of you! Love, love love your music. You are an amazing player and teacher. Thank you so much!
2/13/24
Day 1: 70 bpm
2/20/24 Day 7: 90 bpm (no mistakes🙂)
Stably at 70, bit wobbly at 80. It works, I'm getting better!
Still stuck at 80, but I think my left hand / right hand synchronisation is getting better. I'll keep doing this for a while.
Keep at dude you will get there
@@symphonicdualityband Thanks man. I hadn't done the workout in a while, but today I passed 80 pretty stably and could play along at 90 for a bit. I think it's really a good exercise.
A beginner:
2/16/24 Started 50 BPM
2/20/24 struggling at 90 BPM
3/9/24 hitting 100 bpm
3/26/24 flirting 110 bpm
4/6/24 110 bpm
4/19/24 130 bpm
7/15/24 getting close to 150bpm
10/25/24 160 bpm
Kinda impressed with myself. 😂. Just found this video three days ago. Hit 90 bpm once lol. I think I did a bad thing and looked ahead to 200 bpm. Disheartening.. won't do that again. Head down focus on beating my own personal record. This is a fun workout though, enjoying it. My 48 year old hands are letting me know I'm doing something. Not sure how fast I'm going to be able to get but I'm up for it. Thanks Bernth. Love your videos
Доброе утро, Уважаемый! Благодарю за Ваши упражнения и доброту! Вы помогаете людям быстро развиться в этом деле. Благодарствую за Ваш труд!
согласен, отличный канал!
@@marinemomma62 Thanks man, would remember your advice :)
Check out Ben Eler! He has an awesome series of videos called “this is why you suck at guitar” that goes over a bunch of techniques! Rock on brother!🤟🤟

thanks bernth this exercise is awesome and it helped me a lot in improving my skills as an intermediate guitarist
your tricks are always useful
I started today to practice with this video, I'm at level 4 today in 1 month I will say my progress.
How's it going now?
He died.
Dude Bernth just helps so much with leveling up techniques on guitars man. Really great teacher and musician.
Bernth you're such an incredible musician and player!!! I am new to guitar and your exercises really help me see progress. Thank you
Still struggling with Levels 1 and 2, but also for total guitar noobs like me it is a lot of fun.
Isolating the hands (picking transitions only playing dead notes or just trying to hit the frets with the other hand only) along with this video is a great beginner workout, too.
Thanks Bernth !!
I just came bck yo this after about a month of practice and before i couldnt play 50 bpm now i can play 80 bpm. Lets gooo!
Still on Level 1, 50 BPM. Practicing making every note really clean sounding.
It's taken me six days to get to 100 BPM and play it somewhat comfortably.. keep it up brotha. 🤘🤘 You got this.
Jan, 29, 2023. Definitely made progress. I can comfortably play this workout at 70 bpm. Noticed a positive change in the way I play string instruments in general.
70 BPM still. Identified several bad habits with my fretting hand, pinky wants to move far away from the fret board.
Finally got to more than 70bpm this morning. Still working on my picking and controlling my pinky and ring finger.
Day 4: finally i'm able to play along lvl 1 at 0.75 speed xD
The reward was watching Bernth in slowmo saying "Enough Talk". Totally worth it 🤣
keep at it brother!
Enough talk. Now shred!!

What I am missing in the “spider exercise” is stretching to be better prepared for e.g. 3NPS runs.
We’ll see how far I can get here 😈
I like doing broken third or sequence exercises of regular 3NPS scales at the 12th fret using my first three fingers and not the pinky. Really forces the 2nd and 3rd finger to stretch apart.
Also that fast "tapping like" riff in the tornado of souls solo really helped me stretch a lot. I worked on it for months and was ready to give up in the first 4 weeks :D
@@Amber57499 but u did not give up: awesome 👌
I like this so much that I beat it, and decided to keep going... Today is the 4th day and I got up to 240bpm \,,/
Thank you Bernth, you are a true master!
You have the skill to reach 240bmp in 4 days yet you don't post a single guitar video? Please show us this mastery.
1:40 I can do this at 500 BPM!
This man just discovered fire
After about a week I've gone from my first day being at 80 to today being at 130. Definitely love these workouts you've been doing hoping to keep working on these and become a way more precise player
Hahaha trying not to smirk after showing the arm movement for the "picking technique". 😅 sometimes it's hard not to be childish
31.12.2022 - still learning the pattern, convincing 60 bpm
1.1.2023 - 70 bpm
2.1.2023 - 80 bpm
8.1.2023 - finally at least average 90 bpm
18.2.2023 - after not practicing since tuesday last week and playing again after a week at least sloppy, but listenable to 100 bpm (i also lowered my string action today)
23.2.2023 - 110 bpm
22.3.2023 - another week long break, also switched to 0.009 strings, 120 bpm
Me yesterday night:
“Ah, this can’t be that hard, I’ll try it tomorrow”.
Me today:
Struggles to even do the stretches. Hahaha
Edit: I needed to warm up first.
Now I’m doing it lvl 1 🤘
I simply can’t play this without pain in my hands with classical technique.
I might be in trouble as I get faster, but I’m much more comfortable with my hands slightly slanted.
I have the same problem with the hand position. It just means our left hand is weak. Keep practicing it with consistency and it'll get there before you know it.
You are a practical and idealist teacher. I admire you..
My girl is gonna be all over me after I learn this.
Thie REALLY helped me to not only develop better alternate picking but picking technique in general.

November 17th
Stuck at 130 for a week
Anyone got any tips on how to break a speed barrier? It’d be much appreciated!
And as always thank you Bernth for another amazing workout video!
I'm started in may 30, I'm in 80 bpm, thanks for all your content.
Day 1 - Totally Begginer with this kind of exercise lmao, get 50 bpm
Day 2 - Got the 60 and 70 bpm, I'm proud of myself
Day 3 - Got the 80, and struggling a bit with the 90
Day 4 - 90 bpm more easy, but struggling a bit yet
Day 5 - Trying a differente picking approach, now all the bpm became more easier to do, 90 way more easier
Day 6 - 90 bpm finally caughted! Now in 100
Day 7 - SKIPPED
Day 8 - Got the 100, now trying 110 in another picking approach
This is quite fun! I started it
Day 1: lvl 5 clean, lvl 6 unclean, lvl 9 impossible…
Im on fire getting this challenge!
Day 2: lvl 7 got cleaner
Day 3: lvl 9 clean, lvl 10-11 unclean 🤯
An interesting variation to this workout is to play the second pass at each velocity one octave lower. That way, the stretches get a little larger and you can cover more of the fretboard.
Good lord! You’re killing it, Bernth!!
5/22/23
Day 1: Got to 80 (fingering is weird and completely not how I'm used to playing fast or how i normally play scales)
Day 2: Got to 90 but a bit sloppy
Day 3: Made it to 100 made sure 90 was clean first
Day 4: Still at 100
Day 5: Pushed to 130 but sloppy. Will clean this up
Day 6: Still around 120.
Day 7: 120
Day 8: Stuck at 120 with hand cramping and poor accuracy
Playing along a little over 80
Playing on my own I’ve gotten up around 110
The trickiest part for me is the middle finger positioning definitely not something I’m used to but I can see how it all flows together
GOOD JOB DUDE!! keep going u got this!
Day 1: 130bpm
Day 2: after practicing molto perpetuo by Paganini all night by recommendation of Bernth I reached 150bpm.
Day 3: 160bpm but it was quite sloppy. After a bit of practice it was more coherent.
Day 4: Not much progress today, still 160bpm.
its been a year

day 1 : Getting used to the pattern can do 50 BPM but not perfectly
day 2 : Close to perfecting 50 BPM , attempting 60 whilst polishing playstyle
day 3 : Perfected 50 BPM , comfortable at 60 BPM pushing for 70
I don't think y'all realize how RIDICIOULUS this shit on 200 BPM! Bernth has reached GOD like levels of technique and precison...😵💫
Stuck on 80 currently...
day 1:110/120
day 2: 110
day 3: 110
day 4:110
Playing rhythmguitar for over 15 years now, my leadguitar player convinced me to do solos as well... i don´t feel at home shredding but play more soulful and melodic stuff. I tried to learn the solo from seek and destroy for two months but couldn´t do it anyway near. I tried this lesson for two weeks now almost daily, but i can´t get over 80 bpm without mistakes... maybe shredding is not for everyone!
i wanna say the melody is full of emotions !!! amaiznggggggg
Thank you for this lesson! I'll be doing this every day!
10.07 day 1 70 BPM
11.07 day 2 80 BPM
13.07 day 3 100 BPM
I love the "YOU DID IT!" at the end - yeah right...
Day 1: 70BPM clean, 80BPM with a few mistakes because of my fretting hand. Lots of room for growth here, I'm looking forward to it!
for anyone discouraged they are getting stuck at a certain speed, i was at 90bpm for well over a month (almost daily practice) and finally made it to 100 today!
Day 1: 90 bpm with inconsistency
Day 2: stuck at 90 bpm slightly smoother
Day 3: pushed upto 100 bpm with minor inconsistencies
Day 4: slightly better at 100 bpm
Day 5: definitely better at 100 bpm can play upto 110bpm but only halfway through
