Even more loving this music tonight- I have been following Ihsahn since I was 13, (and he was...28?) .. but this beautiful contrast; to Prometheus; brings me comfort and inspiration... as a fellow multi-instrumental "heavy rock" musician... Some people say- "you should never meet your biggest hero"... but I want to atleast write Ihsahn a letter. To thank him for the music. That has ... saved my life. :) \m/ Rock on brothers ♪ -Erlend Grønås
@@Gravityys Marylin Manson - We are chaos, and from other spectrum , progressive rock , very christian thing, Neal Morse - Sola Gratia. 69th comment, yarhar 😄 Disregarding the electronics for a moment, this one has a bit of a Robin Trower vibe about it. Amazing EP. And Costin, you're a busy man these days! 😁🤟

May sound cringe worthy, but i feel sorry for people who don't know other types of music like this. They just know pop and rap as only music in their lives. They have no idea the vastness of artisty of metal.
Not at all, in his early days he was quite inspired by satanism actually. He's distanced himself from it a bit later in his career. These days, it's hard to tell. His worldview, I'd say, is inspired by multiple philosophies mainly the work of Nietsche. As he said: „ I am always seeking".
@@siegfriedwashburn3484 Because the EP is great? I understand that it may not be your particular cup of tea but I wouldn't understand if the only reason you don't like it is because an artist you associate with a specific genre is experimenting with other genres, regardless of the quality of the music itself.
@@Gravityys Let's not forget Ihshan was always experimental. Much more experimental than most metal acts, especially in black metal. He will do harsher songs too for sure, is not like he's gone full Mikael Akerfeldt route.
Damn, I did not expect him to go this direction. Its almost Katatonia-esque at times.
totally agree, very Katatonia vocally and musically
I love this EP. I love when Black metal singers show the world they CAN sing and still retain their brutality musically.
I was floored at first but It grew on me over a couple of weeks. What a great piece of art.
Ihsahn has a great voice

Hi, can you tell me the name of the band he is usually playing with ?
Thx
@@MrJosebia Well, he is mostly composing by himself now, but he still tours with his previous band, Emperor.
@@tentagudule Thank you for your answer.
I have to Discover EMPEROR. 🤘
Very nice, love Ihsahn's "ballads" and his clean vocals more than their harsh ones in the later years
This song, all the ep is just another prove, like I needed more, of how much I love this guy. Superb !!
When the synths hit, it is like hearing a new Dark Crystal montage
This EP is absolutely killer
