I hear a combination of Prokofiev, Danny Elfman, and Alan Silvestri's Back to the Future score.
As someone who reeeeally loves movie soundtracks, I'm all about this new side of Ihsahn.
Seriously - Ihsahn has literally surpassed here, I love the metal versions of these but I'm digging the Orchestral work moreso 😍. There's beautiful gold there!

i'm on a stupid mall parking lot to buy something to deal with my headaches, and still in my car cause i couldn't stop this. damn this is good. i have to check if the album is gonna be available including thoses versions. it's like having two album of the same music but in a different perspective. the music is so rich it would be sad to not have those orchestral version as they stand on their own
As far as I know the new album will contain a complete orchestral version of the songs as well... I'll wait and see.
This and the non-orchestral version both sound so good! From a concept album like this you shouldn't really release singles, I think. Then again, by hearing this I know I want to buy whatever extended deluxe edition will be published!

Amazing !To me it is something similar to Waltari ,,Death Metal Opera in Deep C" I have same feeling from it, great music. Something new, fresh . Ihsahn attack new frontier :)
Cervus venator which translates as deer hunter, those images of deer and the hunter... where is Ishahn taking us? Concepts of nature and man? Hunter and the hunted? I'm so intrigued!
