Lossless audio would be THE best upgrade. I really really want them to bring this. Video quality of iTunes is already pretty impressive but of course I’d welcome a higher bit rate!
Why can’t we have a simple add to wishlist button when browsing the store?? And any word on when we can download our purchases into 4k quality? Thanks so much for the videos. ❤
I got an ATV+ for XMas and I like it better than my older Roku Ultra, but strangely the ATV+ seems to be getting slower at changing for one thing to another. I am really enjoying the higher quality of audio and the Apple Music app. One thing I've was hoping that the ATV+ would do for me is to finally get all of my VUDU movies to give me full Dolby Atmos sound instead of 5.1. Bummed! It's very likely that VUDU is the hold up here. I wishing I had never bought one movie from VUDU after the change in ownership from Walmart. At least back then we'd get the disk in the mail after the movie purchase.
My top two are (1) support for Hi-Res (lossy) audio for Apple Music and increased streaming bandwidth (2) improved performance and stability of the Apple Music app (never has performed as well as it used to before tvOS 17). Although not important to me but many others would like support for native pass through like DolbyTrueHD to play through local movie files.
I love the Apple TV but yes I would love either lossless audio or the ability to pass-through the audio to my receiver and have that decode the stream as opposed to the Apple TV doing it. And a pipe dream wish….DTS audio support
My only wish would be improved audio - lossless please :) I'm 100% happy with iTunes/ATV+ picture quality, just the audio needs to come alive! The only streaming app that I'm really disappointed with is Red Bull TV. It's bit rate is so low that HD looks like 480p :'( on the Apple TV and it doesn't remember that you've logged in. Again, I'd love to see a higher bit rate on The Surf Network as again, its images are lacking definition. I'm really surprised that Steve Jobs did not go for Dolby True HD with the original Apple TV as those days, it was all download rather than cloud streaming. iTunes audio for film/tv has always been so low - come on Apple, you did it for Apple Music, now let's have a 21st Century audio for film!!!
I want my Apple 4K TV to allow me to stream the 24-bit/192 ALAC THAT I AM PAYING FOR !!! And I would like Apple to tell their clients openly, without any mystery , how to utilize Hi-Res audio. I have several wonderful stereo audio systems in my home. Yes, I am an audiophile. I don’t want down sampling. I want the real thing. I do not want to hook up a Mac Mini or iPad to my receivers. But I would buy additional Apple 4K units. WAKE UP APPLE!!!
Yes, this needs to come to a future ATV for sure. There's no reason ATV shouldn't output the maximum quality of Apple Music (unless there's some kind of HDMI restriction).
I watch a match resolution setting that passes through the original content resolution to the TV instead of the Apple TV upscaling it. I would rather have my superior Sony TV upscale it.
Lossless audio for sure on Streaming services but also Bitstream on either Plex or Infuse 7 is a must. It’s so sad that this feature has been on the Nvidia Shield for Years
I just want NETFLIX to slop being childish and get on and integrate with Apple up next. Literally everyone else does it apart from Netflix and it's a pain in the butt that they dont. Whats stopping them? Surely they realise that it ADDS to discoverability of their content rather than takes away.
I want the Apple TV to prompt you to select a profile when you first turn on the Apple TV. No one in my house switches over to their profile because its not obvious.
For Plex users, ATV is unsatisfactory. I live by my Nvidia Shield TV Pro. ATV poor excuse for DD+/ATMOS. I'll use my ATV only for streaming but frankly if I'm already set up with the Nvidia I generally won't bother switching inputs to the ATV, it's just not a big diff. I agree with some of your wants. If they ever support TrueHD I might consider upgrading. Apple needs to show me they can compete with a 5 year old device... Give me Lossless ATMOS, DTS:X and Auro3D and if the Plex Client works, I might give up my Nvidia (but probably not)
Mine is a simple wish , I'd just love to be able to remove shows etc from the 'up next' list in a similar way to how you force close apps (swipe up or double up arrow)
@@Techthusiasm Thank you, I thought I'd tried this previously & it didn't work, maybe it was a while ago & on tvOS 16, will try again when next using my Apple TV
@@Techthusiasm Thank you so much, I've just tried it & it works 👍, I never knew this was possible, was this something that came in relatively recently? (with tvOS 17 or a point release?)
High fidelity streaming and lossless audio would be my only hope! All the others mentioned here would be a nice little caveat…but, the real meat and potatoes would be those two!
Wow! I never thought anyone would say it in a RUclips video, but your #5a - 21:9 UI - has been my #1 for a long time, for all the same reasons. AppleTV 4K is the premiere streaming box, but it’s the junior league player in my home theater. Granted the number of people with a CinemaScope screen is tiny compared to their overall target market, but I love your idea of framing it as the Kaleidescape of streaming. Putting all those features together into an AppleTV Pro. I will literally upgrade all 5 in the house if that happens!
Great video, I've been waiting for your video about Apple TV. I want all of this from Apple, I hope they will also implement it on the Apple TV. We can only hope so. Thank you for that! Greetings from Austria (Europe)
If im apple, I look at the cost of the other solutions and say “How about an AppleTV Pro?” Bump the specs Make it have better heat displacement Make certain OS functions tied to the Pro hardware (eg higher bit rate audio and video) More integration support via network interface
Apple has a multi user implementation for third party apps that was introduced back in 2022. Sadly the developers are either not aware of it or just too lazy to implement it.
Do you think is a problem them removing the fan from the Apple TV , but then focusing more on gaming , you need some type of cooling if their serious about hardcore gaming
Another year we all hope for the same things again 😊 Side note, apps on row 2 and below that get no love from top screen, what about live tiles that can spin round revealing the play next on current show for that app, after all there not all in Apple TV app which I feel they are pushing us to use as default
My 2024 wishes 1- Currently we cant see how many movies we purchased, apple required to add this feature immediately . 2- Many movies not coming with extras, if they add more will be much better. 3- Lossless audio DTS-HD MA / DTS-X / TRUE-HD to be added.
Anyone else think it would be nice to have a OTA ATSC 3.0 tuner option? I watch most sporting events live OTA unless I can stream in 4k and that is seldom.
Lossless audio would be THE best upgrade. I really really want them to bring this. Video quality of iTunes is already pretty impressive but of course I’d welcome a higher bit rate!
that's it! Lossless audio is the one point that would make this box one of the best!
Why can’t we have a simple add to wishlist button when browsing the store??

Thanks! I wouldn't expect to ever download 4K quality movies.

We need a clock on the dashboard
It's on the control center pop up at least.

I'm ready!
I second all of these. Apple TV is the best streaming platform by far.
I want my Apple 4K TV to allow me to stream the 24-bit/192 ALAC THAT I AM PAYING FOR !!! And I would like Apple to tell their clients openly, without any mystery , how to utilize Hi-Res audio. They need to just make it like kaleidoscope. Give it a 4 terabyte ssd drive and give us the ability to download 4k blue Ray quality videos.
Apple TV Pro, baby!
Is there anyone who wants a file manager and air drop on apple tv...???
There is no point in giving 128gb of storage without a file manager....
Imagine Apple made their own version of RUclips that would be sick
I watch a match resolution setting that passes through the original content resolution to the TV instead of the Apple TV upscaling it. I would rather have my superior Sony TV upscale it.
I’d be happy if they came out with a separate hifi unit that challenged something like kaleidescape. I’d pay a premium for it.
Apple TV Pro! I'll buy two!
I think they need to have resolution switching so TVs have the option to upscale content instead of the ATV.
Might as well have that in the match settings too, yes!
Lossless audio for sure on Streaming services but also Bitstream on either Plex or Infuse 7 is a must. It’s so sad that this feature has been on the Nvidia Shield for Years
I didn't add the bitstream output for local media to my list for me, although I know many folks want it.
And also they should add all the iPad/iphone games on the App Store
I just want NETFLIX to slop being childish and get on and integrate with Apple up next. Literally everyone else does it apart from Netflix and it's a pain in the butt that they dont.

For sure.
They need Xbox cloud gaming on Apple TV of nvidia GeForce now
Hopefully we see more coming to Apple's stores as a result of all the lawsuits going on for service-based apps.
I want the Apple TV to prompt you to select a profile when you first turn on the Apple TV. No one in my house switches over to their profile because its not obvious.
I agree.

You can do this. Long press on them. Remove should be in the options list that pops up.

I believe this has been around for a while. I can't say when it was introduced though.
You know I’m primarily a nVidia Shield fan but Thanks!💯👴🏽

Sólo pido una cosa y es que se puedan ver, una vez más, la cantidad de películas que poseemos en nuestra librería. Es lo mínimo que pido.
Estoy de acuerdo.
