matt would you look up for the sidescroller beat n up game "ragnarok OFFLINE" ? based on the famous ragnarok online game ,because its a gem .so well made and fun to play .also long and hard to finish alone , with 4 player support and level up skills system .
Scratch was from the game boy version of TMNT 3 game long ago.
The number of final bosses in this game reached parody levels.
Even Shredder agrees! "This is getting very monotonous."
Kinda like Kirby's Forgotten Land. The final forms just kept coming, and even then it wasn't quite over.
I played this game yesterday. I was leaving a spare pizza in a boss battle but it turns out that even bosses can eat the pizza and restore health to full.
DAMN
Now that's a
PIZZA CRIME
When i saw the previous video, i immediately downloaded the game, got two of my friends over and ordered some pizzas and played through it all, was glorious.
Did you shout "COWABUNGA!" and high-five at least once? Otherwise its illegal you know....
@@orenmauritzen8674 Not only did we cowabunga at every stage end, but we high fived pizzas as well to make crazy pizza flavors, i do not envy my partner having to clean up our mess >:)
@@ArmstGamingChannel XD Great story brother, good to see people still know how to live it up XD, aah leaving it up for the partner to clean up the mess... Smart man ;))
Did you end your pizza order with "Oh and no anchovies, and I mean NO anchovies. You put anchovies on this thing and you're in big trouble! That'll do. And the clock's tickin', dude!"
@@FEARSWTOR 100%
I did not see that ending coming and I am NOT disappointed
Scratch is actually one of the most, if not the most, valuable 80's/90's TMNT figure of all time! I think he may have been in one of the games, too, but he's most notable for being a super collectible toy. I cracked a big smile when he showed up :p
>Scratch is valuable
... I gotta go call my mom. We absolutely have that guy in storage.
ScaleTail and Scratch were both bosses in TMNT III Radical Rescue.
I'm honestly crying this game is amazing all the references my inner child is exploding
The mutant pizza slices and bananas are from Turtles Forever (the crossover special/movie between the 2003 TMNT and the 1980s TMNT).
Good eye!
How many other people on here have already mentioned that Scale Tail and Scratch are from the Gameboy's TMNT III: The Radical Rescue, the only known TMNT Metroidvania game?
Everyone forgets about Danger of the Ooze ruclips.net/video/naK2tl1K_qM/видео.html&a
I'm not even a fan of the turtles stuff, missed it by a few years I guess, but man - you can tell this is an absolute love letter to the franchise. Fantastic work.
Best TMNT game I've played in years to be honest.
Scratch is from TMNT 3 Radical Rescue for the Gameboy...also one of the rarest vintage action figures.
Wow, they even put in a Turtles Forever reference. I don't know if it is cool or sad I knew all these references. I feel like this game needs a playthrough with commentary from a mega-fan to help explain some of the obscure stuff.
The fact he included James Avery adlibs 🙏🏾 #RIP Uncle Phil
Checked out Matt's channel after hearing about him from Max (one of my favourite content creators) & I have to say I love Matt's chatting through his videos. His genuine love of games and infectious laugh are always engaging, such a great time. I have been playing this game for a while, so much better than many other similar games out there. There is also the fantastic Final Fight LNS Ultimate with loads of unlockable characters and superb gameplay.
Thanks! Oh, I've heard about Final Fight LNS, and have been itching to try it!
Nice, you played the rest of the game! Thank you so much Matt!!
Hello, merso10, I always wondered, how did you came to the idea, that mutated fruits and pizzas from the crossover "Turtles forever" were the creations of Pizzaface? I know, that he's a chef-cook, so it's basically his theme, also the origin on the back side of he's package says that Pizzaface used mutagen on his products. But I've never thought of it that way until you showed this cool backstory in your project. Thanks again for such magnificent work. Shame, that Scumbug didn't made it to the project, but don't bother.
@@jeremiahnapier2516 Thanks! It's funny that not many people noticed the absence of poor Scumbug. I wanted to incorporate the mutant food from Turtles Forever, and the kitchen seemed like the perfect place to do so.
Knucklehead was a vehicle toy, it was like a robot spider with boxing gloves at the end of the legs.
Didn't it also appear under the same name on Fly Baxter's debut episode?
@@Kojirremer it might have done, it's been years since I've seen the original cartoon.
@@Kojirremer Yeah, I remember that episode cuz it was on the Case of the Killer Pizzas video.
"You can't just throw Bayou Billy at me!" Yes, yes they can. You keep playing like that and you'll never save Annabelle!
04:30 One of the last 3 seasons. He was a VERY late character.
18:38 Again, last 3 seasons.
21:52 The last G1 TMNT figure ever made. Very rare and expensive due to the limited production. Don't think it was ever on the show. He's probably more as an Easter Egg due to his obscurity.
I haven't watched it in decades, but Knucklehead is locked in my brain. It's a toyetic spider-tank with boxing gloves, hence the name.
Shredder: "I'll name it after you: [either Bebop or Rocksteady] the Knucklehead!"
They put a Bayou Billy stage in this game. Wow. I hated that game but the soundtrack was the best part of it.
It's absurd how much they ramped up the difficulty on the international version(s) from the Famicom original, called Mad City... Beat 'em up stages: enemy hit points _and_ damage output doubled, shooting stages: starting bullet count lowered, driving stages: fuel amount lowered and the buggy was made a one-hit wonder instead of having a life bar.
The music was a hint, when you hit a platforming section the music was from the gameboy games, and the bosses are from there too. I recognized that squirrel jailbird from Radical Rescue. Good on the designer to pull from games that most people might've not even played but are still a part of the weird history of the turtles!
Scratch is a cat and also one of the most valuable action figures from the toyline due to his rarity.
Some bosses are figures releases characters too
So funny story. The other day I was watching this, to be exact I was at the part where Cyber Shredder appeared, when a tornado watch came up on my phone. I took shelter, and everyone is fine, but it knocked down all the electrical poles on my street, trapping me in my house without power for a couple days. It finally got cleaned up today, and power has been restored, and I finally got to see the ending to the game! Was not disappointed!
Shredder & Krang are unlocked if you start a new game after finishing it.
I remember Scaletail! He was one of my favorite TMNT toys as a kid (along with Antrax). Don't think Scaletail ever made it to the cartoon, but maybe did in the Archie TMNT comic series? Scratch was from one of the Gameboy games and also had a toy. This game looks incredible and is such a love letter to those who grew up with the cartoon, video games and toyline!
They got Knucklehead, Scaletail AND Scratch in this game! Never heard of this Shredder guy though.
Seeing passion projects like this makes me remember why i love video games
Good game. Shogun is really strong I think.
Honestly the best part of the later seasons was Tony Jay's voice
Also be thankful none of the Shredder final bosses has TMNT2's Mutant Ray Instakill spam.
Dregg wouldve been a good bosses or even dragon lord
You can play through with more unlocked characters like super shredder
Scale Tail is a boss found in the TMNT radical rescue for the original gameboy. Scratch also comes from that game.
Scratch is also partially based off of a TMNT character named "Pookey" who wasn't in the 80s cartoon.
Funnily enough Scratch the cat would serve as inspiration for 'Old Hob' from the TMNT IDW comics.
Love how this game combines love for the classic TMNT videogames AND the classic TMNT toys.
Yeah I love how this has a mixture of characters from the games, cartoon and toys😻
the only other things that this game needed would have been am underwater swimming/dam level (from the original NES game, because why not?), and Vanilla Ice doing the "Ninja Rap" number at the end scene. Great game though!
I just learned Kraang likes soap operas
WHY couldn't they have just made this as an official game?! If they had, it'd have been such a success. Props to the creator for making it happen.
19:38 What you're seeing there with those are food creatures from the Turtles Forever special when they were mocking the 1987 show.
i had the scaletail toy he was neat
Leatherhead's NES death sprite was modified for Triceratons death sprite.
I'm suprised they redid the bosses from tmnt 3 radical rescue. Seeing Scratch and scaletail unlocked some nostalgic memories.
The technodrome stages. So mega man-esque.
Shameless plug for my own channel where I've had a full 4 player playthrough of this game for over a year. Love that more competent youtubers like Matt, are showing this game some love finally though.
Already downloaded and played 3 levels. It's very fun. I remember playing some TMNT games on NES.
The Scaletail sprite (and music) is from the 3rd TMNT game on GAME BOY, TMNT: RADICAL RESCUE. It's a Metroidvanie before Metroidvanias were a thing. It's awesome and you should play it. :)
Heck yeah, this game is awesome!! 🤘✨
Not gonna lie, this game looks like it could use Mod support and an "everything's unlocked forever" New game + mode to go from awesome to above awesome.
When you beat the game, you get an Arcade mode with every character perma-unlocked going forward. It’s pretty cool.
Matt references AVGN like AVGN references Castlevania.
Today's my B-Day so Cowabunga to me!
Cowabunga!
I hope your day’s full of turtle power, happy birthday
@@robotlorekeeper9880 It will and thanks dude! *PIZZA POWER!!!*
I laughed my ass off when the bayou billy stage popped! I played way too much of that awful game growing up, and I love it!
Hly s**t...this literally rocks. So well done.
Tempestra is broken AF. she's a murder machine.
Scratch is from the game boy game Radical Rescue. You save each turtle and it's pretty good
The Knucklehead was an actual toy, my little brother got it in christmas 1991.
This game is incredible, and it brought back so many memories from playing the NES games as a kid. Great video my dude
this game needs to go to the systems asap i loved watching you play and i want to play soooooooooooooo bad it has everything i want. COWABONGA !!!!!
If only we had a new TMNT fighting game. One with characters from the comics, cartoons, movies and even esclusives from other games. Even better, if the game is made by netherrealm studios to have an epic story mode.
I got to see the Coming Out of Their Shells tour show when it was in NYC back in the day.
...I mean, I was like four or five or something, but by God I saw it!
Scaletail is totally a thing in both the show and comics. I had the figure of it as a kid
I want to say he was in one of the Gameboy games too but I'm not %100 sure on that.
@@blackmagefelix6548 yup... had to look him up and see what else he was in
I’m really bummed I can’t get this game running with my Xbox controllers. It looks like a lot of fun and want to play this with my sons. This easily is 2nd best TMNT game I’ve seen
OMG!
This game is so cool!
And it was so much fun to see how much you enjoyed it!
I would like to see more characters in action, but what I saw is ok!
The little droids dont need to pilot the driller, because it can be remotely piloted from the Technodrome
This looks great, but Super Shredder should have a powerbomb grab to make him truly complete. Small missed opportunity.
Scale tail, dirtbag, triceraton, ciber shredder and scratch were the bosses on TMNT 3 radical rescue on the gameboy, a truly good game
t's incredibly fun to nerd out along with you. I love your narration I'm so glad I found your channel.
I had an action figure of Scaletail, be was one of the coolest looking turtles villains! Same era as the Halfcourt giraffe action figure
This game is hilarious and awesome. I need to replay it.
Fun Fact: Scratch is actually one of the more elusive figures out there apparently
I thought that was why he was just randomly in there before the final bosses.
@@trtx84 that actually makes sense
"Come into my parlor, said the knucklehead to the fly! Hahaha!"
Merso is one of my favorte OpenBOR developers habfs down. And a good friend
Funny to me when you say, “That’s cool, I think?” In your videos
I can't believe they added Scaletail and other stuff from the GB title Radical Rescue.
I’m so happy you continued this!!! The moment I saw you posted this I knew I was going to finish it!! Thanks Matt!!!
A quirk of the engine, is that even if you lack credits, you can technically 'load' the game, and it will start the game at the last segment it 'loaded' with the last number of lives you had at that time (so autosave), sometimes, if you are mid stage and screwed badly fo rlives, it's ok to quit and 'resume' just to not lose them. Unfortunately in this game, it 'loads' after the character selection so can't use that trick to get out of a bad pick.
I remember Scale Tail and Scratch. I played all the Gameboy TMNT games, but none of the NES games, since I never owned an NES. Turtles in Time was great though.
this was so fun to watch
And I've never really been a TMNT fan
Considering Baddies are unlocked as you beat stages, did Shredder and/or Krang get unlocked?
11:00
Tunnel burrowers do have an auto pilot function
This is the most amazing thing ever. I love it, I DL'd it, it's amazing.
Scaletail is from the Game Boy game "TMNT Radical Rescue"
You should do the hyperscan for wha happun next love how in depth you go into the things💙
I had to beat almost everything in Technodrome. With just ONE life !
Got to beat Super Shreder, couldn't beat Krank and there is no way in hell I could beat Turbo Hyper Cyber Shreder in the same run.
Nope nope nope...
Amazing Fan Game, btw. This one has become one of my favorites
Scratch is rare tmnt action figure...
That ending though....did not expect that.
Hey Matt if you like this, you should check out Marvel Infinity War. Its another beat em up fan game like this with a lot of love for the source material. I think the same person also made one for Justice League
Yes he did
Best fan game ever
Man alive! This is awesome!
This game needs to get with limited run to port this over
Dude this was the greatest. I was waiting for the conclusion of your play through. Loved it
I started playing this a while after the last vid. I had to start over too... and I couldn't get many lives because I kept getting nothing but the trashapult mini game
That minigame will fuck you over.
@@BloodoperaBlackvomit amen to that
I'm praying to Bob he eventually lays hands on Beats of Power. I need that yesterday.
I gotta try this, but now you gotta new subscriber! I just came across this by accident looking for the Shredder's Revenge but dang at first hearing you talk I thought you were Zack Pearlman, y'all share the same voice and laugh🤣 He's a comedian actor, look'em up.
This was insane. I can't believe the ending! nostalgia overload!
does he know that if you press up and down in the character select screen you can change your character's palette?
scratch is from the toy line
These freaking mutant food in the kitchen were from Turtles Forever !
I had the Scaletail figure. It came with a jetpack for some reason. I also had Scratch. He came with a gun inside a slice of cake and a pigeon sidekick,.
I think this bonus level on 8:10 use music from Konami Gradius tactic on NES
Awesome! Great new game!
You're the best Double-M
After having played Shredder's Revenge, imma have to play this. XD
that 1 platforming section were you fight that scratch character reminds me of 1 of the ninja turtles gameboy games
