    Wow, that's so cool. Much better than trying to use a spreadsheet. Really well explained.

      Yes you can absolutely!
      Just follow the tutorial but apply it to your existing student database. You could also add a Text Property column(s) for behavior and material as well :)
      Hope it helps 👍

    Hi Milo! Great guide to making a student tracker.
    Is there a way to track attendance for a specific period? (ex. attendance for Steph in the last 3 months.)

    • @notion4teachers
      @notion4teachers  6 месяцев назад

      Yes I believe there is! This is something I'm working on currently.
      There is a way to use the new Notion Formulas 2.0 to filter entries in a Relation property. I'm trying to figure out a way to have an area where you can add the time frame, then the attendance will adjust for that time frame. I'm still such a baby to the new formula system so taking some time to figure it out.

    I have just been spam watching this series and am in love! I do have a question though. I work in Alt Ed and have a lot of students forba short period of time. Is there a way to archive students so that it's a little easier to keep track of my current students? Still very new to Notion, so I wasn't sure if you had a suggestion for tidying it up

    • @notion4teachers

      Hi Monique, I'm glad you like the videos! After I release the new Teacher Planner I'll be making many more videos :)
      Yes there are a few ways you can archive students. One way is to create a dummy Class and call it Archive. Then when a student leaves, just remove them from their existing class and tag them to the Archive class.
      Then on the student page just filter by class if you want to remove them from view.

      @MoniqueAyres 6 месяцев назад

      @@notion4teachers Yay, can't wait for the new videos! And thank you for the advice! I took that concept and combined it with the lesson plan video for archived template and just created a status to my attendance table for students to either be current or archived and to sort them accordingly.
      I kinda just borrowed the exact format used in the lesson planner template and that worked great! Because of my class schedule, the class manager doesn't do anything for me since I teach 4 different grades, but I do so at the same time every single day, so this seemed a bit easier than creating classes. Thanks for the great advice and quick response!

      @@MoniqueAyres Perfect! Excellent idea :D That's my intention with these videos, hopefully I can give teachers enough building blocks for them to customize their own system. Well done, sounds like a good solution.

    Hi Milo, thanks for tutorial. A question, why when i was doing roll up, the relation not appeared

    • @notion4teachers
      @notion4teachers  8 месяцев назад

      Double check that your relation properties is properly added to the student database. If there are no relation properties in the database, then the rollup won't be able to find anything.

    Hi Milo! Thanks for your very useful content. I'd like to purchase a template that would allow me at least to have different classes, different times, students db and the attendance tracker. Any specific recommendations?

    • @notion4teachers

      Hey glad you like the content!
      If you're looking for the most comprehensive template then I would recommend the Ultimate Teacher Planner. It does everything and it's essentially what I use every day with my teaching. The planner is fairly big so if you're new to Notion and want something less intimidating then the Teacher Starter Kit is a good option - however it doesn't have the attendance tracking set up.
      Here is the link to the Ultimate Teacher Planner: www.notion4teachers.com/premium-notion-templates/notion-digital-teacher-planner
      I will also be making a walkthrough video for the planner this week too so stay tuned!

    Thanks for the template and tutorial! I have several classes, so when I add a new attendance day and try to view the students it shows me every single student in all my classes. Is there a way to filter by class in the new attendance page? TIA

    • @notion4teachers
      @notion4teachers  4 месяца назад

      Yes you can filter by class! Around 9:24 in the video, you can see I make a database view of the present, absent, late students. You can add a Filter to this view and have it filter by class. This will show you the attendance of a specific class.

    Why i does the calculate button does'nt appear when i make the rollup section? Please help me

    • @notion4teachers
      @notion4teachers  8 месяцев назад

      Make sure you have the "Relation" properties added first. You won't be able to calculate anything if you don't have the relation properties added.

    I love your template, but I'm trying to implement it for a school with multiple courses where the same student may be enrolled in multiple courses. Therefore I need to have a list of students linked to different courses and I can take their course attendance independently. I tried to modify some things and couldn't do it. Do you know how I could achieve something like that?

    • @notion4teachers
      @notion4teachers  24 дня назад

      Hmm that's an interesting problem. Currently, the attendance tracker is not set up for split class attendance. Currently it just calculates the average attendance. This is for simplicity since a majority of teachers are fairly new to Notion, so I keep it as simple as possible.
      Adding some kind of split class attendance would add a whole layer or two of complexity:
      1. Add a relation property to attendance days for Class.
      2. Create multiple "Today" attendance day fields and tag each class separately.
      3. Adjust the attendance formulas to include this class relation
      4. Have a way to filter for this easily
      To be honest, proper attendance tracking in Notion is tough. I'm still trying to find the most optimal way to do this and I feel I still haven't properly done it yet.

    For the attendance formula is there anyway to round it beacuse i would get numbers like 72.345463647 % which is ugly.

    • @notion4teachers
      @notion4teachers  4 месяца назад

      True I didn't use a round formula for simplicity. Use:
      round(number * 100) / 100
      Change 100 to 1000 if you need less zeros
