I’m a clinical hypnotherapist and neuroscience geek. Trying to change the Doing before we change the Being we’re Doing it backwards.
I work with clients in the subconscious, getting to the underlying programming. If we can’t get to the part of our mind that we can’t change just by changing our mind, we’ll be fighting a lifetime of influence.
Our beliefs about ourselves and the world are influenced and set between the ages of 0 to 8 years old, with almost zero context.
Through generational and cultural influences, societal programming, and the incredibly insidious advertising brainwashing, we are almost completely controlled by external sources.
Identifying those beliefs, changing them in the subconscious, examining our reactions to words like ‘exercise’, ‘workouts’, and ‘accountability’ we can shift our unconscious programs to what we do want.
Resistance is futile, so running up against the programming just makes it stronger. Getting deep into where it can change creates the new neural pathways, achieving that healthy relationship with eating that allows us to put all that consciousness into something else. Maybe even a new business or wealth growth opportunity. ❤

I am a professor and this is what kills me about AI in school. I keep telling students you’re paying for this, and you can spend all the same amount of money and learn nothing or you can do it yourself and learn something. I think our entire society is just based on give me the quick fix. But when the only sound is the voice in your head, you need to be really sure about what it saying.

Thank you❤ I love "savouring" your videos, I often feel the need to rewatch them because they're so intense and have got so much "food" for thought. They're not just about binge eating, they're about self discovery and self compassion. Sometimes when I watch the same video again I think to myself "How did I miss this part?". May you be blessed for sharing your knowledge and for doing it with your heart. I'm so grateful. ❤

Okay, so I'm thinking more and journaling about this--actually reflecting on what you said!!--and here's what's coming up for me. Patience sounds good as technique to make change, but in reality, at least for me, I think my impatience is a big part of the problem. I have trouble with HOW to be patient. This is part of the whole thing for me when I overeat or binge--I struggle with delayed gratification (another way to say patience). It's helpful to know this. Now it means I'm in search of the best ways to cultivate patience.

Omg, so very true! There was a time when I was considering bariatric surgery to fix my weight problem, but I realized I would need "brain surgery" first. Otherwise I will not be able to keep my weight off. Just like you said nutritional advice (or surgery in my case) can only work after The Change

Oh thank you! These words needed to be said over and over again! Each and every one! The wisdom about patience is powerful. I have a little needlepoint framed, that my sister-in-law made for me. In beautiful cursive letters it reads, “Dear Lord, Give me patience and give it to me NOW!” A light went off in my mind, listening to this. Again, thank you and Dr. K!

    Dear Sarah ‘
Thank you so so much for introducing me to Dr K . Thank you so much for this video . I cannot get enough of this fantastic content . Over the years I have learned so much via people like Eckhart Tolle , Thich Nhat Hahn & my practice of Buddhism . I have been off track the last couple of years which is how I stumbled across You on You tube . I am just so thrilled to be learning more of theses positive life lessons . It makes so much sense . What this world needs is more practitioners & doctors & psychiatrists who expose clients to Mindfulness along side their Sciences . Thank you again - doctor K is modern & up to date & like yourself - very easy to listen to ❤

Excellent ideas/advice! Hearing my own voice vs other voices about what I need to do is one key for me!! I become very stubborn to others telling me what to do & then I mentally throw this advice away-I don’t want to think about it and go to what I think & then do that. Secondly, the key point of patience. I am trying to lose weight to feel better, more active, & healthier. (I am almost 73 so I may not have many years to actually be healthier, but I can certainly feel better and become more active. I weigh myself, feeling like I should have lost a pound or two, and that result is not there. My first inclination is to give up! I’m doing all I’m suppose to do with no results. I am mad at my body for not cooperating. I NEED to give my body & me to not be in such a hurry. Results will come if I’m PATIENT! Can I add the need to be kind to myself? Thank you, thank you for this video.

Throw your scale out the window and follow what your heart and new potential new found energy and improved mental health tell you. Sometimes our physical health won’t change if we don’t attend to our mental health. Minuscule changes add up quickly for the soul.

Hi Sarah, this video resonates sooooo much with me (within me ? Don't know any more, I'm french, sorry for my bad english). Typically me bingeing on "binge eating" content after a crisis, probably to keep my brain busy during the anxiety that follows a binge, but I can't remember anything of what I listen to. Except ONE thing, Idk if it comes from your channel, and this one thing prevented me from demolishing the PB jar (I wanted to numb myself bc of an impossible dilemna) a couple of days earlier : it was a quote : 'bingeing won't solve my current problem(s), and a binge adds another 5000kcal problem". I closed the jar and chose sparkling water instead. The dilemna isn't solved, but a binge was avoided. Tiny but noticeable success. If the quote is from you, can't thank you enough ! ! ! ! If not, well I hope it will help someone who will read this comment later.
Anyway, thank you Sarah, your content is immediately doable in real life, this is such helpful !
And the blonde suits you wonderfully🤩

But i like bingeing. I enjoy it. I am autistic, hyper focus is the only way my neurology functions.
Heres a nice recipe that i invented today: gf penne cooked with carrot cut into tiny cubes, separately courgettes and stem broccoli cut into tiny bits tossed in oil, combine with cooked penne, then let cool. Mix with mayo and add protein of choice (crumbled feta or cooked prawns etc). Sprinkle shaved almonds to garnish and provide necessary crunch. The almond/fried courgette combo taste is yum.
    Enjoy.
