I honestly really like the interpretation of Artemis and Orion just being really close platonic friends as you historically, and even today, don’t see too many close male female relationships that aren’t romantic nor sexual in fiction.
@@8bitutopia1954 It's a bit strange but sometimes you can see glimpses of how they have actual chemistry. The Akihabara epilogue where she and Orion discuss Galatea is a good example.
I've always been partial to the theory that every greek city state would want their founder/hero king to have divine right to rule, and having their backstory involve Zeus being their father works better for that. After all, being the son of Hephaistos is cool, but doesn't make you uniquely qualified to be king (though you will probably have less hubris, tragedy, and murder in your life compared to the average Zeus offspring).
Those are somewhat true, since you can see that liniages of kingdoms where traced by divine rule, case and point Hercules with Thebes and the children of Harmonia as the Rulers of Sparta. However most of the other gods were more of an origin for the cult of their own worship than they were to justify the lineage of someone. That's why myths like the story of Apollo on Delphi and the myth of Demeter founding her cult are more widespread than say the lineage of the kings of micenea, Ithaca or other city states
A thing I would be especially interested in in a follow-up about this is the fact that the judges of the dead in the Underworld are all also sons of Zeus. Even in his own domain, Hades has to deal with his brother's shenanigans.
Since we’re on the subject of Zeus’ kids, the Theogony states that the nine Muses were children to Zeus and Mnemosyne, a video on them or including them in a part two would be pretty neat.
6:10 For the record, in the original myths it's said that the reason Daphne hated Apollo was because Eros had struck her with a lead arrow of hate at the same time he'd struck Apollo with a golden arrow of love. So neither of them was really thinking during that whole adventure.
Angelos, Arges, Eleutheria, and Enyo are Hera's lesser known daughters. Sometimes Eris is said to be Zeus and Hera's daughter but more likely Nyx's daughters. But yeah overall Hera's kids are lesser known than the bastards especially since they are girls and wouldn't be able to inherit and both sons she produce are kind of inadequate in Zeus' eyes.
