Today, Trevor is breaking down the difference between these two Weber Summit Kamado grills. Obviously, one has a table and the other doesn't. What does that really entail? Watch as Trevor shows you the differences between the grills.
The Weber E6 is the model without the table attached. We have already reviewed The Weber with the table, but we have not just got a hold of one without. So this grills looks like a giant version of the Original Kettle which is crazy. It does have a larger diameter than the original though! This think is pretty stinking awesome and comes with some sweet grates to do wok style cooking.
So The Weber S6 is the model with the table. the table is nice and sits at a good height. Its very convenient that it comes standard and you will have plenty of workspace. the coolest thing about the table is that you can install a small propane tank for a burner in your charcoal grill. Thats kind of like cheating, but come on a gas starter and a table come standard?? You're supposed to have an easy going time with this BBQ and thats why the table is so cool.
Let us know what you think of these two grills. Would you get E6 without a table and build your own? OR would you get the S6 for the convenience?? Its really all up to your personal preference and we'er curious about it! Let us know? As always, thanks for watching. Please leave a like, comment, and subscribe. See you next week!!

I’ve had the Summit w/table for over 2 years. When they first came out they both had the igniter system. Mine looks much sturdier as it has a solid shelf on the bottom half. I’m from Buffalo and have used this in sub freezing weather. Zero rust on the table but I do clean my grills after every cook, inside and out. I also use the igniter system every time. I also own several other Weber grills but this is my go to one. Cheers y’all!
That ignitor would be nice in the cold! Thanks for the comment.
Great video! You made my decision super easy! Thank you!
On your stand alone version your stainless piece where the ash pan locks in is mounted backwards just heads up. The ash sweeper/air control and the ash pan handle should face the user while grilling.
Oh thanks for letting us know
Just got mine. Cooks amazing, and my table is absolutely fantastic. Space to work, the lighting igniter system is unbelievably convenient. 1850 to the door, only drawback.
Thats awesome have a great Sumer with it
I have the Summit Charcoal Grill (so the identical older stand alone model that also included the gas igniter). Since I'm using a looftlighter, I've only used the gas assist 3 times to show it off to friends. So I'm happy they removed it from the new stand alone grill version. To me, the Summit Kamado E6 standard is the percfect kamado on the market today. The way it cools back from overshoots, is waaaay faster than any ceramic grill on the market. It burns charcoal AND briquettes, has great gasket, is a lightweight compared to ceramic models (I love the fact that we can easily lift it on our porch for winter BBQ). NO ceramic firepots that can break and the rest is also built like a tank. It was quite the no-brainer for me. However, if your mind i set on a ceramic kamado: the 3rd gen Kamado Joe is the way to go.
nice comment! thanks for the input!
I bought the grill without the table. For $450 I got a 2'x4' stainless steel food prep table, it has a butcher block top two nice shelf's and two drawer's. The table is high quality & well made, much more than I expected . The company is Seville Classics.
That is awesome!
I had one of the original Summit stand alone with burner (no table) and never did like how wobbly it was. That was the reason I got rid of it. Not sure if they have fixed that in the E6, but if not, the cart model is way more stable. Other than that, it cooked like a dream and was incredibly efficient with charcoal. Just my two cents. Thanks for the video, great job!!
That's awesome! Thanks for watching.
I appreciate the honesty on the cost. Nice review.
Thank you for watching!! we appreciate the comment.
Just Order my summit charcoal , without the table attachment 👌👌👌
good choice! We've been using those weber charcoal baskets you should try that out.
Love my Looftlighter. Good helpful review here. I’m interested in the E6.
I'm glad you liked the video! thanks Big Lew!
I find that the ignition on the OG Summit Charcoal is helpful when the charcoal grate is in the low position, but less effective when the charcoal grate is in the upper position.
good tip
Wayback in the day I picked up one of the Webers with the stainless steel table, I don’t even know what they called it but it had a charcoal lighting system with like a mini propane bottle, it was so handy, it also had a bucket to store charcoal, what an awesome grill and I only paid like $400 for it brand new
wow score!
Good as always
Thank you!
Trevor, another class review man!! I have the cart version and one point worth mentioning is the height difference which maybe important to the taller dudes! Cart model 3 inches taller, and lets be honest 3 inches is 3 inches!! Also, a fuel bag is included with the cart model. The gas assist is good but have found it only is of benefit at the lower char grate level. I am also a BGE fan/owner and like the modular system they have (not the price) and thought that Weber could adopt similar with the Kamado as a built in. Thanks again
Nice comment. good info. Thanks for watching!
That's what she said.
Recently got the S6 it's a beast
Nice!
I agree. I’ll make my table. Good video.
Nice. Thanks!
Got my E6 late last summer and absolutely love it. It’s made my other kettles and PK Grill redundant. Feels super premium, awesome Kamado. I didn’t feel the need to upgrade to S6 because I grill right by a table and prefer a chimney to light coals. I also have a pretty crowded patio with a Weber Genesis, Weber Summit Kamado, Weber Smokey Mountain 18, and a Blaz’n Pellet Grill - smaller form factor of the E6 fit what I needed.
Weber knocked it out of the park with this one.
you have a lot of grills!! they really did.
Would you be able to comment on your pros/cons a year later? I've always used a Genesis for fast cooks and a WSM for smoke on briskets and butts. Now I'm looking at the Kettle and Summit, mainly because I just want to get closer to the fire for a better crusting on some of my foods. Do you think the Summit is worth the extra cost?
After a few cooks that top daisy wheel does stay in place when you open it, just from the steam/grease it keeps it in place right where you set it
I have one of these, so chintzy on a $2500 grill in Canada. Weber needs a Control Tower like on the Kamado Joes.
After one cool it's already holding good for me. Doesn't spin now
good feedback
I was concerned about the daisy wheel when I first got it, but as you said it holds in place after a few cooks. Its my favorite all around grill / smoker.
I have the igniter in my Weber Kettle charcoal Performer grill and bought it for that reason. But honestly not a big deal to use a chimney starter and allows you place the charcoal wherever you prefer instead of just the right side. Now having it, I'd skip it next time.
I agree
Thank you for the review, in Canada the shelf model is $1000 more.
wow. what do you think.. worth it??
@@embersliving nope
Vent does stay put once you’ve used it a few times, The muck that builds in it acts as a stopper
Nice!
Time is $$! The time it would take someone like me to fabricate, obtain my materials, and build a cart I'm already 1K in. The cart alone isn't worth 1k but the convenience of the ignition start (even as a backup) and cart probably is. What I wish they had was the charcoal storage bin like they have on the Performer. Then you could hold your lump charcoal, briquetts, or chunks of wood near by.
also a good point
Does the current model of the E6 have a port/hole in the lower portion of the kettle for a blower fan? That was a feature in older models but it's unclear if it's still there on the new ones
I don't see one
@@embersliving Bummer! I'm pretty set on getting an E6, so this isn't a dealbreaker, but you gotta hate when they take functionality away
l have been using the Summit Charcoal for over 5 years. I find the ignighter really only works when the charcoal grate is in the lower position.
Ooooh nice comment
It sucks, because as someone who is 6'4", the added 3 " is gonna cost an additional $900......
Can anyone tell me the grate hight from the ground is on stand alone model? Curious as to where it is compared to a 22.5 performer model( that I own)
that I am not sure on
If you can get the table version. I have the original stand alone with propane ignitor. It cooks great but still need a table. And Weber is constantly hearing about the wobbly legs on their 1500 dollar grill. Now 1k and worse without the lighter. 😊
sounds like youre making it work
Do these newer ones still have the pre-cut hole for a temp controller?
that I am not sure
for those wondering, the hole is indeed still there.
The ignition system is good but you don’t get that on the Australian version of this model
oh bummer
@@embersliving we get ripped off big time in Australia
Is the one with the table larger? Looks larger in the video.
Same width
Lol why did you guys install the bottom vent adjustment facing toward the back of the grill
Just to upset you
stainless steel 3 layer cart from 900x600 mm go for between 150 and 300 € for professional quality, and i can use that for other purposes or together with other outdoor kooking stuff to, chimney is around 30 €,
no brainer actually
nice
I think the gas igniter is really cool but for that extra cost with the table, totally not worth it, I already have a benchtop and shelving.
How are you starting your charcoal quickly?
@@embersliving Big Joe I just use a chimney starter
I prefer the older stand alone Summit model which was much sturdier.
I hear
I don’t think the upgrade is worth $900 because the price without the table is similar to the price of the old Summit Charcoal, which included the igniter, even without the table. That means the the cost of the igniter, in isolation, can’t be nearly that much. Maybe Weber removed the igniter from the Summit Kamado in order to help sell the table version at a much higher price.
The OG Summit Charcoal, without the table, with igniter and the better heat deflector, is the best value version for the money.
That one is pretty solid too
I'd prefer the table but without the ignitor and then maybe reduce the price by $300. But that's not an option...
True
U can almost buy two e6 for s6,it's insane
for real
I'm 100% new to this. Where is Hot air wand built inside instead of the propane.
what do you mean
I have the S6. It is NOT worth the extra money. That drawer is next to useless because it only slides once every 10 tries. The lighter on mine died after maybe 12 long cooks - it got plugged with ash and the circuits cooked and required a full warranty replacement.
good to know
Ash sweep
ok
@@embersliving you're welcome
I actually found this at my local hardware store.
Kamado Joe’s and Eggs are kinda hard to come by.
Are these a good alternative?
yes I think for the money
It will be mine, O yes, it will be mine. 😂
Which one tho
Lighter cubes and tumble weeds forever.
that should work!
I am with you on the standard model. One can build a nicer table and have it independent of the grill which may be otherwise cumbersome. Plus you can have a cooler on the handbuilt table without being so close to the fire (I am sure the ice would last longer). Storage would be simpler too with an independent table. I have a Weber 26" with a huge built in table and if I had to do it again, it would be significantly smaller. I did not like the wobbly legs on my 26". I think I might sell my big Weber 26" and go to something like this for convenience. I needed more real estate than the 22" kettle could provide and this seems like the perfect compromise.
good points
The propane starter saves you money, time and bother.
Very true!
Weber is insane for asking $900 more for the cart and igniter system. For all of you non-DIYers, just spend $20 on a Bernzomatic torch head and $80 on a Lifetime adirondack table.
Nice alternative
Way too much money for that simple of an upgrade. $900 extra for the cart and the gas assist is just crazy. I’d pick the one without the cart
I don't find it outrageous, it costs at least that much to upgrade big green eggs and kamado joes to include a small nest cart and a couple small side tables. In my opinion the summit table cart is way better then a couple small side shelves and the igniter is nice and there is a bottom shelf on the table cart big enough to store all the accessories and charcoal. If you compare it to the 24" big green egg and kamado joe it's actually a very good value. And those are the grills its designed to compete with. Just my opinion.
@@brentmcginn1732 hey if you can justify it then so be it.
I agree and you will see in the video
True too
@@brentmcginn1732 Don't forget that some of the Kamado Joe accessories will fit in the Summit too! So that's even more reason to go with this and splurge on the extra's.
Table? Not worthy of 1000 dollars. No way
its actually pretty handy
I dont think cart is worth it.
agree
Not worth an extra grand.
agree
American Made? But customer support today was in the country of Columbia. As a customer for 40 years, I was horrified that the phone number for Weber is not listed on their website!?!?!? So obviously, they no longer want to provide customer support. As a "buyer" of the original SmokeFire, I learned first hand that Weber does not care about the physical safety of their customers as the last time I checked grease fires as pretty dangerous; I sent it back. Now for more fun. In the San Francisco Bay Area, there is not one dealers who has the Weber Kamado in stock. This outfit has them as do some online outfits. But do you think I am being unreasonable to want to kick the tires on such an outrageously expensive grill? Then the pricing. Weber's website price is $1250 but the list is claimed as $200 higher; so you are offered a 14% discount to get to the Weber price. What happened to Weber. Never deal with this company or any of the dealers who push their now expensive and dangerous products.
ok! Thanks for watching.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
First l wouldn't get either one, l prefer my smokey joe, second that grill with the table...noway within 2 years or less it will be rusty, build one out of wood
Lots of folks have it outside for many years no table rusting issue.
agree
Son unos YOURGIRLS.Uno de los mejoresf conciertos Mañas no 7 se l 💯💞😍
ok
This spring I got the table model. I love it. The table is extremely convenient. I augment the gas starter by using cotton balls infused with petroleum jelly. I put them under the capital bins and the gas starter. One thing you didn't mention are the two places to hang the grill racks. They are on the right end of the table. I used many grills... The Weber Summit Kamado is the best versitile grill I've ever had!
