  • In this video, I fixed a few issues that were pointed out to me during assembly and finally fire up our Weber Kamado Summit E6 for the first cook.
For our first time cooking on the Weber Summit E6 I used Kingsford Charcoal and we cooked ribeye steaks.
My goal isn't to teach you how to cook the perfect ribeye on the Weber Kamado Summit E6 but to entertain you and show you how I cook on the Weber Kamado.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm certainly not fancy so no need to pretend - next cooking video will be frozen pizzas lol. Have a great weekend

    I want to thank you.
I have just bought one of these and was looking for a video just like this.
Read the instructions - nope ✅
BBQ in the rain - yep ✅
Just have a crack and see what happens - yep ✅
Commit to hundreds of more attempts to get it right - yep ✅
    Fantastic!
I recon I could sit with you and a beer and have a crack at BBQ-ing.
    Cheers!

I enjoyed your video, one of the great things about the Summit Kamado is that it can accommodate whatever style of cooking that you want.... charcoal closer to the grate for grilling, charcoal at the bottom with the diffuser plate for smoking. It's one of the most versatile cookers available so there is no absolute right or wrong way to do anything. Keep learning & keep up the great videos!

Thank you for the kind comment! I couldn't agree with you more...I am new but 100% plan to get better each time we fire it up. Hope you are having a great weekend.

I start my Kamado without chimney. Put the charcoal direkt inside and open the Air vents below and open the hatch on top. Put 2-3 Fire starter on the Charcoal. thats it! After grilling close all air vents, so you can use the charcoal again.

Great video just assembled my e6 yesterday, the leg assembly seems to be the most difficult especially by yourself.

I would get a nice paver to light that chimney! Just to preserve your driveway. Great video!

I used to start mine on my back patio like that and one night I heard a loud pop I went to investigate and found a big chip in the concrete where it exploded. I assume it had to do with moisture and the change in temps.

Your charcoal grate can move up closer to the grill grates for a better sear.

Thanks for the tip - I will try that out on the next cook. I think standing in the rain my brain was only at half capacity.

Haven't had mine very long. But I love it. It's so versatile for low n slow, smoking with diffuser, or high heat grilling. Very easy to control temperature. Happy grilling!

Interesting thing is, that on some markets, there seems to be three positions for the grill grate. Here it has just two. And the top position puts char baskets much closer to the top grate, in comparison with e.g. Master touch series.

that part where you said you should probably have read the manual? I was just telling someone a few days ago how so many people get something new and just tear into the box and never read the instructions before assembling or using it. you are a perfect example of what I was talking about. but I will say your video is very entertaining one of the best I've seen:)

Great job on the summit. I would suggest subscribing o the Grill Top Experience. He does a lot different videos on charcoal grilling with a weber kettle. Even though it’s not the exact grill you have a lot of the principles in charcoal grilling can be applied to your grill. He has a playlist or something for beginners that is pretty good.
I would also subscribe to the Baby Back Maniac YT channel. He has many videos of cooking on the Weber Summit Kamado. But these videos are less about instruction and more about the cook.

    Don't mean to sound abrasive but . . .
The Summit is above average but still inferior in many ways in comparison to any ( Lifetime ) Ceramic for the same price.
Sure ceramics are heavier for a good reason, but they are on wheels too. So don't be fooled by all of their hype.
There are expensive accessories you will want and don't get with any of them but especially the Summit.
If you chase after Summit parts they will be from 3rd Party and many will not fit or will need to be modified because Weber does not even make any. Then there are some you can't get . . . anywhere.
Do your research and if possible don't buy anything without looking at it first. I know . . .
    In todays Post Covid 2.0 Pricing Games . . . China . . . especially . . . appreciates your business.
    Good Luck.
