I mentioned before. Look at the Blazn Grill smokers made in Nebraska. Built heavy like a Yoder but look at the removable ash tray with taking the grills off. Also the auger and blast plate are also heavy duty. Had mine for 7 years.
I was going to ask you have you ever thought about a rec tec bull ? One fine piece of machinery that won’t let you down!!! No pun intended towards Weber
I know how you feel. To look foward and to be excited about something especially when going see it and experience it before everyone else. No worries man, Weber will go back to the drawing board and get it right, not everyone can get it right right out of the gate, even Weber. Crazy seeing the last few videos with no music and subtle comedy, lol. Now it’s time to get back to your norm and film some classic bbq vids. Head up pal, and keep the vids coming. Cody
Your sincerity is coming through loud and clear. Love the authenticity and real aspect of your videos. You're winning over people left and right with your integrity!
Thanks for being YOU Justin. You are a real guy and that's why your fans love you. Lowe's is gonna take that unit back after you've abused it like that? Really? Man, I need to shop at Lowe's more often!!! LOL Cheers bro!!!
THANKYOU for being you. I stopped editing a video to watch this. I’m a huge Weber fan and I wish them the best, however they really crapped the bed on this one. They tried so hard to be different that they ended up a meme, and butt of jokes. They will make it right, but they need to trash this, recall all units, give full refunds, and hit the reset button. Thanks again Justin.
The most unbiased product review I’ve ever seen. I’ve never seen someone try so hard to find the good in a product, and in the end, admit that it’s not where it needs to be. Thank you Justin. Btw, the first smoke I ever did was on a kettle smoking a chuck roast following you to a T.
Totally, Weber has a good track record but they prone to tripping up like any other company...and possibly their development culture just isn't up to the task on this. Who knows what the internal politics were...there are probably plenty of people in Weber that will be happy to see this fail because they think pellets are a fad.
Weber, if you read this, one of your biggest supporters is obviously feeling let down. And his legion of fans see this. How many of use are now going to consider the competition? I know I am. I don't think you understand that we wanted to give YOU our money because we believed. And now you will have to work three times as hard because you have a wave of fans who will be moving on. That's a shame.
He isn't the only one. Everyone who is reviewing these things has run into the same problems. This is a poorly designed wood pellet grill that really can't smoke anything properly.
I'm proud of you, sir. Not only have you made the right decision, but you let us know about it in a way that is just and fair. By taking the "high road" here, you have shown the kind of guy you are. I admire you for that.
Thanks for this video. I was getting ready to buy a Weber Smoke Fire today. I watched this video and bought a camp chef instead. Appreciate you being real with us.
I really respect how you handled this. I feel like you were always honest and forthcoming both with how excited and how disappointed you were. I think you came from the right place and I think you made the right choices. Give your sous chef some pets for me.
It is refreshing to see someone honest reviewing on youtube. Too many people are given free stuff for a favorable review. I love Weber, I was excited for this grill, it is obvious from this review and many others they still have work to do. Thank you for your honesty, it is appreciated.
These types of videos restores the faith for me in RUclips, I'm sooooo sick of guys getting free shit and claiming how wonderful it is only for us to buy it and be totally disappointed. Thank you very much sir !!!!!!!!
Love your videos Justin, I really believe in your recommendations as honest and sincere. Sorry this was a bust when you spent good money on it. I really appreciate that you put out so much good info for those of us considering this cooker. Thanks again for putting it through the paces and keeping us informed.
Been watching your channel for a few months now, have really enjoyed your vids. As for this series I appreciate your transparency, and I’m glad your gonna get back to doing what you do “cooking and making fun videos “
Bro! Thank you for all you did here and what you went through emotionally. Not a lot of people could understand where you are at but I do. This could apply to any sort of gear/brand (truck parts/pc components/firearms/survival gear/camping equipment and on and on) I hope to get the chance to thank you and some of the other guys personally some day. You have all been such great help in perfecting my BBQ. I was asked by a youngster how I learned to make such great BBQ. I said "you really want to know?... RUclips" It was great I think she was expecting some story about my granddaddy in TX or something. Anyway, appreciate you!
I love how, by the end, we can barely hear you talk over the rain, no matter how hard you're trying to raise your voice... a true Baby Back Maniac classic! Thanks for this series, sir, and for your channel as a whole, and for being so genuine.
There is no need for apologies. You were providing your insight without trying to mislead us. It's up to the individual purchaser to make the decision to buy, or not. There is no need to beat yourself up over this. The problems are Weber's. Something went very wrong. It's up to them to make things right. Like many others, I waited for your review, knowing that you would provide valuable insight. You did your job, and more. Your information is appreciated by me, and countless others. Please continue to keep us informed, as you gain information. Thanks again for all you do for us.
Thank you, the best way for Weber to fix problems is to see these units returned. I am so happy that this stressful situation is over for you. I am also happy that you will be back with good cooks and your great sense of humor . Have a Great Day.
Justin, a huge thank you for such an honest and heartfelt review. This is why I'm such a huge fan of your channel. I'm only a couple years in to real barbecue and I've learned so much from you, T-Roy, and Harry Soo. Keep up the great work and thank you again for all you do. Also, if and when Weber gets this sorted out I'll be there to pick up one of these smokers...after it's been tested and stamped with your seal of approval. 👍
@@Shlav01 funny you should ask. I was actually looking at the Camp Chef Woodwind Wifi 36....great features, tried and true brand, and great added grilling and searing options.
You know he’s not excited about this smoker when he puts the steaks on to cook without seasoning them first. Thanks for the videos Justin, you saved me money.
Thank you for helping me make my decision. It’s going back! Really wanted it to work out but you made a good point, time to turn the page. Thank you for your honesty, take care .
In your defense on talking about this cooker, you did get to experience the grill first hand and it went well. But there is no doubting that this cooker has issues. Love your videos and appreciate your honesty. God bless.
THANK YOU so much. I purposefully waited to get your take on this after launch. And while yours may have been an issue and maybe others are not as bad, in the end, tried and true has been my history and this secures my decisions. Thanks again for being you!
Thus is exactly why I subscribe to channels like yours and not "influencers". The fact that you were so invested after the launch event shows how well that kind of marketing works, but at the end of the day, you're just one of us putting our own money down and expecting products to perform as promised. Thanks, Amigo, and keep up the great work!
Justin, I've always appreciated your passion, honesty, and integrity. I was really looking forward to the SmokeFire, but thanks to you and Mike, you guys have saved me a bunch of money (and probably saved me from some nasty accidents).
I fast forwarded to the end to see the decision, sorry you were not a happy with it, but completely understand your decision. Thank you for taking one for the rest of us. Hopefully version 2 will take the improvements you and others have posted will produce the product we all hoped for and expected. Can’t wait to see you happy doing cooks that you love in new videos. Cheers from the Jersey Shore.
I am a huge Weber fan at this point I am extremely happy that I went with the yoder ys640 pellet smoker. Weber is still hands down my favorite grills in my collection. Thank you for this great video.
Its obvious your a good man and you are honest. Weber jumped into something they were not prepared for. You had been shown one side of the story but there are always two. I am just happy to see that through it all you just gave your honest opinion. If there are flaws the need to be pointed out not only to the consumer but to Weber also. Good Job Justin!! Keep up the good work!
Justin, I love your channel and will continue to watch all your videos. Remember, your journey isn't over, you just turned the page. May God continue to bless you in all you do.
Justin, thank you for your honesty and transparency. Those are just 2 of the reasons I love and trust your channel. I’ve been cooking, BBQ’ng, and smoking on Weber grills my whole life. Hopefully Weber is transparent and works to resolve these issues. Now...let’s get back to some fun!!!
Thank you for your past honest reviews on the Smokefire grill. I live in Leawood Kansas and went to our local store that sells these grills in question and they, quite emphatically, said you were a fly by nighter and didn't know what you were talking about. He said he has sold many of these grills and has not once had anyone call and complain. You have saved me a lot of money and frustration by showing noted problems. Videos don't lie.
This is probably the most honest review by a fan of Weber, which I am too. We all wanted this cooker to work, and by doing this review I think you took Weber a long way towards making this right. Many of us are disappointed, but I’m willing to give Weber a chance to get this right. Sometimes, what goes well in the lab doesn’t work the same in the real world. Thanks for this excellent review and please revisit the cooker when they’ve worked out all the kinks.
You are an upstanding an genuine guy! You have more credibility and integrity than the other youtubers who got one free and don’t have the guts or fortitude to do such.
as a fan i want to thank you for your honest and truly deep depth look at this cooker and the issues. this was one i was excited about, hoping i could replace my propane and cabinet smoker with a single cooker..(keeping the cabinet for cold smoke only) and with you in the same climate (sarasota FL here) your review is absolutely perfect for me. so thank you.
Good call. To keep is supporting, this product. You've helped loads of people make a decision without trashing the company and without telling them what to do. I feel you did an awesome job handling this whole fiasco that you were invited into....
Appreciate your honesty... Weber is a good company with a history of very good products, but obviously not EVERYTHING is a winner. Watching this video just brought me in as a subscriber - honesty is very hard to find these days! Keep up the good work.
Love the honesty man, I know it sux especially since your a weber faithful! But anyone who loves to bbq and has passion for making friends and family happy we appreciate you testing these products out. Makes our decision making easier. Take care man, look forward to seeing more bbqing videos
Thank you for all your videos on the SmokeFire. You saved me, and I’m sure many others, a poor experience. Hopefully the documentation that you and other RUclipsrs have created help Weber fix these issues!
The pellet issue alone would be a deal breaker for most. It shouldn't be too hard for Weber to fix this. IMO , here;s what they need to do. Get rid of the 3 vents and put a stack with an adjustable choke on it. Move the grease drain hole locations about 3" towards the end plates. Put a locating lug for the glowplug (if it doesnt already have one) so that it can't be installed out of it's correct rotation. Scrap the software and start again paying attention to it being stable and not telling lies about the temp. Also, increase the capacity of the hopper by making it taller and thus increasing the ramp angle. That might just make this thing a good unit. cheers Justin.
Just bought a REC TEC 700 Bull because of your reviews. Thank you so much for the informative reviews before I pulled the trigger. I was waiting on this grill for months since end of 2019 when it was announced. Glad I didn’t buy!!!
A sincere thank you for your honesty with this. Been watching your videos from the start and your pain is palpable with your affection for all things Weber but like you say they gotta know so that they can improve on v2.
Dude, being a fan of your videos because you are always so happy and excited, this one is just straight depressing. I can hear it in your voice. Cheers man. Keep the good smoke rollin.
I really appreciate you doing both Weber Pellet videos. I was so excited when it was coming out and being a Weber fan was going to save my pennies and buy one. So you've done us watchers a huge solid by saving us from spending our hard earned money on something that's not up to par yet.
Integrity, authenticity and honesty made me subscribe! Weber is not a Pellet smoker company, therefore they do not specialize in a well engineered pellet smoker. Greed got in the way of R&D, plain and simple. Please Video while returning the product to Lowes.
Not a fun way to get a ton of views on a video but glad you shared this. Weber will adjust and Weber SmokeFire 2.0 will evolve and the problems will be fixed or they will market it as a grill and not a smoker. So far I think this still could be an awesome cooker with a few mods! Beautiful cooker Justin and thank you for the honest review! The steaks on the right had those epic Ponderosa hatch marks for sure!
If I was more shrewd, I would have drug this out for another couple of weeks (and 10 more videos) but that's now how I want to succeed. I'm ready to move on.
thank you Justin,, I love how genuine you are and I can see how this hurts you.I hope Weber fixes the issues. you know me - I am a weber guy like you and would love to add a Weber pellet to my stable - but 1st I need a summit
I cannot say how much I understand and feel you here. Last November I bought a Green Mountain Grills Daniel Boone WIFI model as an early birthday/Christmas present. I was so excited. I put it together and followed all the instructions and the first time I used it, it was great. Then the next time I tried to fire it up it wouldn't start up. That was my first cook ruined. I got with their customer service team and they sent me a new part and I got it swapped out. So I got ready for another cook and this time it just kept dumping pellets and overflowing the burn pot. I just did not want to work properly. That was cook number two ruined. So I get back in contact with customer service and they tell me other ways to set it up. Again more overflowing pellets. The next attempt overflowed so bad the whole grill nearly caught on fire and was burning well above what it was supposed to. I had to beg them to take the thing back. Finally after about of month of talking to them they allowed me to return it where I bought it...I have never been more heartbroken over the purchase of a product. Tl:DR, I bought a pellet grill from a different company and had the same heart breaking experience you had as well...
Just like the rest of your followers, I really appreciate your honesty & integrity. I was waiting for your review to pull the trigger on this grill. Hopefully the 2nd generation Smokefire will have ironed out all the wrinkles. I've heard good things about Smokin' Brothers pellet grills (Made in the USA) I'm gonna do some research! Thanks again brother!
From a fellow N. Texan, you are awesome Justin. You did a whole lot more than just save your channel from the infomercial death spiral, by just being real and honest and transparent. Looking forward to your future fun videos!!
This is a roller coaster! Love Weber, normally will walk blindly into a purchase from them, glad you got out ahead of it this. I'll wait until the kinks are ironed out. Thanks for all the updates!
Great honest, information here Justin. I really appreciate how candid you are in this video and the greasefire one too. For as much as these grills cost, and the amount of research that Weber claims to have put into it's design, I expected a lot more, as did many people. Thank you for all your hard work.
The grill is beautiful. I was looking at pellet grills for about a year hoping Weber would fix its issues. I had to go with a Traeger. I’m sure eventually Weber will fix it in a few YEARS. But consumers won’t wait. I didn’t. But man that’s beautiful.
Great talk, brother. Time to move on. I might do that small round table tomorrow but then I’d like to move on too. Weber will figure it out. That’s not on you or anyone else. Blessings 🙏
I encourage you guy's to try Rec-Tec. I've had mine for 8 months and have not had a single issue like what you all have experienced. I don't work for nor do I know anyone who works for Rec-Tec. I'm just a very satisfied user. Best of luck to you guy's.
Thank you. Good take on it all. Brand loyalty is not a bad thing, or a biased thing, it’s just trust. Hopefully, they’ll get it right, or move on to the next project, like a rotisserie for the Summit Charcoal.
Well and properly done. hopefully they get it right. I looked at one at lowes today and there was no way I would bring it home just looking at the 'features' and obviously seeing how many would fail.
Thank you for your honesty I enjoy your videos and I think that you shouldn’t feel the burden to explain this Weber just needs to get their act together
Your upbeat and fun bbq videos are what I love about your channel! I hate seeing you bummed about a product that was so heavily anticipated, but we’ve all been there. Keep driving on, my friend!
Very well done Justin. Hope that there is a new version someday that makes things right and can make Weber a real competitor in the pellet market. I got one really appreciate the work you have put into this. Not really sure why anyone gives this a thumbs down. Thanks for being a stand up guy.
Thank you so much for taking the time and doing this. I couldn’t wait for this smoker grill to come out, and I’m so glad that I follow you and got to see it perform and underperform. Keep the videos coming!!!!!
Justin, it's not your fault this grill didn't live up to expectation. You didn't design or build it - it's a Weber issue. The fact that you worked hard trying to find the cause of the problems and expose the faults is a credit to you and your integrity. I would have been as excited as you in getting and trying a new grill - I've been there. The transition from prototype to production is a big step that causes issues in almost every product on the market. Some companies do better, some worse in post prototype testing and product revision. Weber stepped on their Johnson on this one. You tried to help solve this for your audience and that's laudable. Keep up the great work!
Hi Justin, I do not own a grill. I have been following the SmokeFire build up and had been impressed. I was just about to pull the pin before seeing this. So, thank you for making my first steps into smoking not be a bad one. I wonder now which way to go. Thank you for your honesty all the way from the UK
You have been such a fun honest BBQ person to watch for many years. It really depresses me to see you disappointed deaing with that smoker, lets move on and get back to our happy place.
Thank you SO much for this....I love my Weber kettles and the company and plan on sticking with charcoal- so much more fun IMO. Get some rest, put this behind you and know that you’re doing us all a great service with your honesty and integrity. I look forward to your next fun cooks! Spring is coming brother....
Final thoughts on this in the description box if you are interested...

T-ROY COOKS you guys are my favorite cookers!! I would like to see more Yoder YS 640s videos

Can you do a video of you returning to Lowe’s?
Sorry to hear that. I was also in shock! I even considered buying one. Glad I watched your video!
Man you're awesome and easy to watch. I love your channel and love how honest you are and your Passion for BBQ
Same problems here before I sent mine back. You gave it hell and thank you for all of your hard work!!
Dont worry brother, keep doin what you love. Still one of the best BBQ channels on RUclips! Love yuh bro
It has been a fascinating series. Thanks for being the guinea pig and all the fair tests!
Integrity, authenticity and honesty made me subscribe! Weber is not a Pellet smoker company, therefore they do not specialize in a well engineered pellet smoker. Greed got in the way of R&D, plain and simple. Please Video while returning the product to Lowes.
I have done the burn in nothing else, should I return mine before its too late? Help me Baby Back Maniac, you're my only hope.
i mean, did you watch the video?
Look around RUclips, Everyone is having issues with this Grill.
Thanks for the transparency
thank you Justin,, I love how genuine you are and I can see how this hurts you.I hope Weber fixes the issues. you know me - I am a weber guy like you and would love to add a Weber pellet to my stable - but 1st I need a summit
Was prepared to buy the Weber but after seeing this purchased something else. Too bad I really liked my Weber Kettle.I appreciate the honest review.
Great video. Took my Smokefire back to Lowes and went with a Yoder.
Tl:DR,
I bought a pellet grill from a different company and had the same heart breaking experience you had as well...
Thank you sir for taking it for the whole team 🙏🏼
Just like the rest of your followers, I really appreciate your honesty & integrity. I was waiting for your review to pull the trigger on this grill. Hopefully the 2nd generation Smokefire will have ironed out all the wrinkles. I've heard good things about Smokin' Brothers pellet grills (Made in the USA) I'm gonna do some research! Thanks again brother!
From a fellow N. Texan, you are awesome Justin. You did a whole lot more than just save your channel from the infomercial death spiral, by just being real and honest and transparent. Looking forward to your future fun videos!!
Heard you on Peter Gregg. Agree that it’s your honesty and sincerity that breeds trust in both your channels. Been a fan from the beginning
Thanks for your honesty. Love your videos.
Thanks for being the awesome guy you are and giving the real truth to it all . Cheers bro.
The grill is beautiful. I was looking at pellet grills for about a year hoping Weber would fix its issues. I had to go with a Traeger. I’m sure eventually Weber will fix it in a few YEARS. But consumers won’t wait. I didn’t. But man that’s beautiful.
Shit happens bro, the reason i like you is that you are honest in your opinions. Keep up the good work
Great talk, brother.
Watched all the other videos, great vid Justin - thanks for your sacrifice - now get yourself a Rec Tec.
Thank you so much !! Always love your videos keep up the good work ! Honest review and always appreciated !
It's time for you to try out a Yoder YS640S! I really want to see how you like em!
Thank you. Good take on it all. Brand loyalty is not a bad thing, or a biased thing, it’s just trust. Hopefully, they’ll get it right, or move on to the next project, like a rotisserie for the Summit Charcoal.
i fully and wholeheartedly support your decision on returning it. i would have as well. More vids with the kamado joe!!
Thank you baby back! I appreciate the video. Can’t wait to see what you do next👍🏾 love your videos.
Well and properly done. hopefully they get it right. I looked at one at lowes today and there was no way I would bring it home just looking at the 'features' and obviously seeing how many would fail.
Great to hear your honesty on this one. Keep up the great work
Thank you for your honesty I enjoy your videos and I think that you shouldn’t feel the burden to explain this Weber just needs to get their act together
Hi Justin,
I do not own a grill.
