When your vocalist gets the crowd so hyped that your author and keys player is dumbfounded...pure, unadulterated badassery, that's what that is.
I love Tarja's operatics and Anette's clean vocals, but we can't deny Floor has a stage presence and force of voice you never see elsewhere! Nightwish at this point has been three completely different bands, and I love all three.
They are so happy on stage now. Tuomas found his girl for Nightwish. She sounds amazing.
Narek Avedyan Tuomas also "found his girl" when he hired Anette.
Floor is an awesome lady, so I really hope she's careful; now NW has a track record of kicking out their lead singers without even having the decency to let them know in person.

Tarja was kicked out via a public letter (not only was that cowardly, but also extremely humiliating) and Anette was fired via an email that was sent to her manager while she was sick.
True. Not until Tarja finished the End of an Era show was she informed of that and I felt sorry for her. I just didn't know Anette was treated the same way, thought it was just couple going separate ways peacefully

2:43 Tuomos can't believe what he's unleashed with Floor. That's such an awesome moment, the writer of the song and founder of the band is in utter disbelief at the response he's getting.
I always wondered that the band just played/sang in Wacken when it was that epic. Now I know their responses and only now it feels complete:

I love seeing the look on Tuomas' face at 3:30, it's like in that moment the near decade of turmoil they went through with their singers was worth it, because Floor is killing it right now and the band never sounded better!

This is the kind of concert that changes lives.
Most songs don't sound as good live as they do on the original release, but Nightwish has that rare trait to where they sound just as good in both spectrums. I love this band :)
actually I didn't really like Anette live, but Floor is so good live, better than Tarja I dare say
TheCanibalMaty Tbh, I didn't actually like hearing Tarja live, since she, despite being a truly amazing singer has a terrible accent which made some of the live songs she did sound not as good as the studio version. Floor however, is an exellent live singer, and is now my favourite Nightwish vocalist so far.

Well, INXS live at Wembley '91 sound way better than in studio. Good examples are "By my side" and "Hear that sound".

She's said in interviews she suffers from some degree of social anxiety and is an introvert. I can understand that. Unfortunately, a lot of other people don't. I personally when I've performed at gigs have been reluctant to meet with the people I perform for. Singing in front of a thousand people is harder than talking to twenty backstage.

I loved Anette's interpretation of the song, I know a bunch of people would disagree with me but Anette had a great voice for this song specifically. Floor seems happy to be there, though and I'm glad she is. It was really hard to replace Tarja.

I recently discovered this band, Nightwish, from a friend. I am fully hooked on this awesome band. Floor can sing like nobody I have ever heard, and she is gorgeous too. I have always loved the bass and Marco can lay it down, plus he is a great singer. Key boards, lead guitar, all the absolute best. Nightwish you have a fan for life, rock on for eternity.
Nightwish have finally found the perfect singer for them. She's got the voice, the looks, and the attitude! This is how the song should've been in the first place.

I would agree with you. But with music, does looks really matter? I would still enjoy Nightwish as much even if all band members were animated piles of mucus and had the same musical and vocal ability. I would simply just not look at the stage if I saw them live and not stand near the front ;)

She's the best be real lmao, she can sing any of the song styles the other two can sing whereas the other two can only sing in styles pretty exclusive to themselves. Plus no offense to Tarja but you can barely understand what she is saying despite how beautiful her voice is. Floor has a beautiful voice but enunciates her words far more clearly

I really love how Floor always uses this song live to work the crowd into the thick of things. Every time I have seen her do this live she always uses this song as a way to make the audience an active participant in the concert. Yet ANOTHER reason I love this woman.

I can always say how amazing they are live and how phenomenal Floors vocals are and how much fun the band has on stage (though I do want to point our Tuomas putting his hands to his head at 2:43 in pure awe), but I also want to take a moment to appreciate various fans. Like the reaction of that girl at 0:26 She looks like she can't believe she's actually here!

I love this version of this song--it gave me chills--and I love Floor Jansen, but this song was written for Anette; just as "Ghost Love Score" was written for Tarja. Does that mean Floor didn't do better than Anette? No. But the original sticks with us because it was the first. I just hope that people don't forget that Floor wasn't the first or even the second singer. If we think she's great now, think of how great she'll sound when she has her own, original songs written for her!

my favorite live of "AMARANTH"
I have only recently started listening to Nightwish (about 6 months now). And I must admit I LOVE them so much. Floor is definitely my favorite frontwoman. And surprisingly, I loved the Anette stuff too. Tarja was amazing yet she falls to my third favorite front woman. Just my opinion. But all three are absolutely amazing.
I think Floor is amazing, the same as Tarja and Annette, but with many of the tracks designed for Annette specifically made for her voice, and I haven't seen Floor do them yet. Floor is definitely the best fit for the band, but I love all 3 of them in that Tarja and Annette contributed their unique flavors to various points in Nightwish history and Floor can do all of the past songs flawlessly.

I am obsessed with this version of Amaranth. Floor's voice is absolutely amazing.
it's so beautiful i'm tearing up. and it's not just music and voice - it's that Floor actually knows what to do on the stage, how to work the crowd. Shes good and simple and wicked in all the right ways. Tarja might have had an amazing voice, but she was never as good on the stage imho.

Perfect for the genre and perfect for the band and shes the only singer that i seen nightwish have that actually interacts with the crowd and the band and feels like a part of the band not just nightwish + 'singer'. Amazing performance.
This is the first live performance I’ve watched of Amaranth, and I have to admit, despite it being an incredibly difficult song to preform live for a vocalist, she did fantastic.

@@cortazz fair, but Anettes voice isnt soo bad in studio verions, I had problem with her only in live performances , she didnt fit with the band as well as Tarja and Floor , she wasnt as charming as other singers on stage and she didnt sing so well in live performances , otherwise her studio versions are totally listenable

Amazing band...
My first exposure to Nightwish was with DPP and Imaginaerum albums with Anette singing the vocals and I loved them. At that time, for me, Anette's voice was the voice of Nightwish. They made me a Nightwish fan. Since then I've listened to Tarja and I'm sorry boys and girls, but I can't get into her sound, her mangled lyrics, nor her "me, me, me" stage presence. I don't care how technically brilliant she may be, I prefer Anette, but that's just me. Y'know opinions are like assholes, everybody's got one.
Then along comes Floor. Look at her stage presence, look at Tuomas's WTF moment, that big, shit eatin' grin on Marko's face, Emppu looking like he just hit the lottery jackpot, Jukka pounding his heart out and tell me which vocalist the band prefers.
That's all we need to know.

I actually can't like Tarja's voice for all the reasons you've stated, but mainly her vibrato is too slow. Against other opera professionals she just wouldn't cut it. That said, her haunting sounds in songs, when she layers over the top without vibrato are lovely.
