I haven't seen too many reviews of this. It's one of my favorites. I think you'll like "Hurricane Season" which is a sports movie and a true story. Sanaa Lathan plays in BROWN SUGAR - A very entertaining Romance.

If loved Sanaa Lathan in this movie you’ll loved her in “Brown Sugar” it’s another love story with a backdrop of hip/hop in it and it also stars Taye Diggs. You should give it a watch if your on a love story binge for February.

    Love and Basketball (2000)
Since I never get past O whenever I play "horse", I'm just going to stick with shooting three-pointers but luckily for you Angel, all my facts are nothing but net.
    • Producer Spike Lee wanted authenticity in the actors and their basketball skills so after Writer/Director Gina Prince-Bythewood selected Sanaa Lathan out of almost 700 women for Monica, Lathan was sent to Basketball camp. When young Monica gets pushed and gets a cut on her cheek, that was to match Sanaa Lathan's real scar in the same location.
    • If you thought the chemistry between Omar Epps and Sanaa Lathan was good, there are a couple of good reasons for that:
Number 1: they co-starred in The Wood a year prior and Number 2: they had started dating before filming and kept it a secret during production. Even Gina Prince-Bythewood didn't know til afterward.
    • When Quincy is shooting with the Lakers, you can see Kobe on the sidelines.
    • This film appears in both Entertainment Weekly's best films you've never seen 2012 edition and the Criterion Collection.
    • In a case of it's all relative, Dennis Haysbert and Omar Epps play Father and Son here and were teammates 6 years earlier in Major League 2 (1994). Omar Epps also co-starred with Tyra Banks in Higher Learning (1995). While Sanaa Lathan would co-star with Boris Kodjoe in Brown Sugar (2002) and co-star with Regina Hall and Monica Calhoun in The Best Man (1999) and The Best Man Holiday (2013) and Alfre Woodard and Sanaa Lathan would play mother and daughter two more times after this film: Something New (2006) and The Family That Preys (2008).
Normally, this will be the part where I try and make some grand gesture and offer to play you 1 on 1 for your heart but considering the last time I played one-on-one with somebody, I ended up losing a kidney, a lung, and a spleen. I think I need to stick to something safer, like hockey. Which is lucky for me since I grew up in a hockey town.
    Until next time, Angel.

Love this movie and the soundtrack I grew up with this movie, and watching it as an adult just really in love with a storytelling and the nuance an introspective on your parents, romantic relationships, and how it affects yours and reflects in yours without even noticing, they do have good parents ! And even while we understand they are good parents and they’re doing the best they can your romantic relationships and habits that you show your child trickle down no matter what looking back I think Monica‘s parents spoke directly to each other only once in this whole movie, but her parents were set and satisfied in the role they played Making up a successful household, and then Quincy‘s parents were the exact opposite being so passionate and in love, when he was a boy and then seeming to have fallen apart overnight, in his eyes. it’s very interesting

This movie is strange. Q does get butt hurt when she can't stay out to console him. And it's hard because I definitely see both their sides, but she should have probably stayed out. I'd be hurt too. Doesn't seem like u get how hurt someone can be a single decision, even if it's the rational thing to do.
