How creative. What a great found item that you found a great use. I has an old metal art palm that had faded. I asked my neighbor who is for creative what type of paint to use to bring it back to life. She said no paint...use alcohol ink . It worked beautifully. I liked how I was able to blend and shade with the ink. Can't wait to try this technique thx for sharing
That was great advise from your neighbor. Alcohol ink is one of those things I don't always think of but always turns out beautifully when I use it. Have fun and your welcome.🙂
Thank you for the video. I Love this idea! Im running to walmart and getting some of this tape. I am always cutting things out with soda cans but this might give my dies a break 😁
Enjoyed watching you play. Have not used my aluminum tape for a while. I did make some large bird cages a few years ago. You are going to have some one of a kind ephemera.🌻
I totally understand metallic can be intimidating, but I think if you give it a go, you will really enjoy it. The tape is very forgiving and so nice to work with
Nice!! I had done this exact same embossing using that tape from Home Depot about 5 yrs ago. Technique was taught by Heather Tracy (thicketworks studio on YT) . Cheaper than the sticky foil Ranger used to sell and they no longer sell that either… Do intricate dies cut that material well? Die cutting is always a challenge on my cuttkebug especially on such tape adhered to cardboard
Thank you for letting me know about Heather Tracy, I will definitely be checking her channel out. And yes it works very well with intricate dies, perhaps not making the cardboard to thick. But found I had no problem with it.😊
I have a question. I am new to your channel first video I am seeing and I love it. Okay my question is I do not have the ink refills or ink pads but I have markers that are alcohol base with they work to do this ? thank you. I can't wait to watch more from you.
yes I think so, you may have an end look of a much more saturated look for the colors, because the markers I think naturally will be a bit stronger in color which would make your resolute a deeper, richer color if that makes sense. Using them on the tape I think would work just fine. Thank you for your comment and welcome!
I think having a plan ... staying in frame, gathering information before recording, taking notes etc for your recording may be helpful ... this is not to be mean ... but as someone else mentioned here ... try to be helpful. No one wants to sit and have to go back to their computer, phone or laptop to FF your video when you're stumbling or making decisions or out of frame ... I wanted to love it and want to subscribe ... but ... I think the above would be helpful for your future.
Sometimes when you are filming it happens. Then you must decide whether to post it or refilm. I have made both decisions. If the content is still decipherable I will repost. I get that its frustrating if you are a very visual learner.
I do apologize for that as a way of explanation, I had gotten a new mat for my area and I thought I had positioned my camera well but alas I had been slightly off , it will be corrected in future videos, although I may error again perhaps, being human and all.😊🙃
Good idea sharing. However, It's agonizing watching you trying to make your decisions on camera. The pace is just to slow. Make you decisions on which dies, etc, before you start. Move along more swiftly. I moved on.
Thank you for your feedback and I thank Deborah below for her comment, for she said it better then I could, what I and my channel are about. Fast forward was a very good suggestion, if you care to see something in the video, but most likely I wont be the person or channel for you. Comfortable, friendly and relaxing, craft with or along with, is mostly what I am about as a person and channel. Thank you again for your feedback. Have a wonderful and craft filled day.

I agree! Shouldn't we all try to help each other as crafters and artists?

You are most welcome😊
I’m a bit intimidated by metallic but these look so good I might have to give it a go. Thank you.

So about how long does the ink take to dry? Cool technique! Thank you for demonstrating how to do it!🧡🧡🧡
You are very welcome..☺it dries very quickly, I would say less then a minute

I'm going to have to try this. The tool name: Stylus or Dry Embossing Tool
thank you for letting me know the name, it always seems on camera the name escapes a person. Have fun!
@@colleenhinton It happens to me all the time! 🤣
Shes learning too no worries girl
😊
Love the idea, but I too I’m getting very very bored with the Salas and I can only see half the demonstration
Fast forward !
Gold foil!?!?!?!
Quite different then gold foiling. Try it out I think you will really enjoy working with the tape
