I have a few of those too, a couple of them have cranks that would shift 2 slides of slightly different poses side to side to give movement. They were housed in custom long wood cases labeled Africa, Australia, India, Europe and other countries. Most of the slides were professionally made from around the world. My parents bought them in a house sale in Montclair,NJ. The owners were diplomats that traveled the world and they brought home slides from their travels. Well hello there Angie!!! Me too. I also make mini houses I have videos of them just have to scroll down some! Thank you for your support of my channel! ❤
Hello thank you so much for your kind words. I do have. Flip through, as it was a Design Team project for Tracie Fox. As for the rust I do not. I use a mix of hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, and table salt. I put the metals and ingredients in a glass jar. Leave room at the top of the jar as when these ingredients are mixed they will foam up dispose properly never down a drain. Also use gloves as you are dealing with real rust and make sure it’s in a ventilated area as it will gas off. I do not have an exact recipe for measurement sorry.. 🙂
They are fantastic, but also a lot of detailed work. I wish you would have given links where to buy the more unusual chemicals and plexiglass and the measurments of the thickness of the plexiglass. Here it's usually pretty thick, Big and expensive. TFS these beauties ❤
Hello and thank you so very much for stopping by I really appreciate it. If you look at my pinned post I linked the plexi glass, liver of sulfur etc. have a wonderful weekend! 😊

@@angiegarciaart Oh thank you Angie, I tried it I am not sure if I did it exactly correct. I really enjoyed making my version and I mentioned your video as inspiration. Kathy
Can you tell us how you get those clips to look so grungy please? I have tried a few different rust recipes but none have worked.:( I LOVE yours! Thank you!
Thank you so very much. I appreciate your kind words. I use a recipe of salt, vinegar and hydrogen peroxide in a glass jar. I leave for a couple of days come back and rinse. I also use a product that is for gun cleaning/ touch ups called. Perma blue. I will try to find a link and put it here.🤍 a.co/d/6Mot9Bd
These are so cute and tiny. I love them! Is the B 7000 glue you use very different from E 6000? (Does it also have the same smell that takes forever to go away???)
Hello and thank you so much for stopping by. I really appreciate it. Thank you so much for the kind words as well. Be 7000 seems to work a little bit better than 6000. I would have to say I love the tip better than the six and doesn’t seem to as much if that makes sense as for the smell B7000 does have the same smell as E6000 but maybe slightly less.. 😊
Awesome!! Thank you for posting this tutorial so quickly. Now, do I have time to do this before I leave town Friday??? I'm so excited to try this. I'm not a huge fan of rust. I don't like it getting on my papers and staining them. But I'd love to darken paperclips and such. I tried gun bluing solution. It made them black which looked great but after sitting a few days, they all rusted. Have you tried anything else to darken metal without the rust? Just wondering.
Hello and thank you so much for stopping by to my channel. I truly do appreciate it. I understand you don’t like rust staining your papers if you do not want it on your papers just spray them with a sealer and that will stop them from staining if you do not like the rust look at all, and you want to go for something dark use alcohol inks and seal them. I have used gun blueing as well. For a cater rust result. Also, if you skiff the metal up try liver of sulfur. That oxidizes the metal without the rust look. Also, my final suggestion is, you could rust your paper clips and your metals for a slight amount of time and then rinse them dry them off and you have more of a tarnished look …. Hope that helps! And if you give us a go, please take me. I’d love to see your makes! 🤎
@@angiegarciaart Thank you so much for your reply. I wasn't expecting it. I will try sealing it. I do like the look; just don't want rust on my fingers and paper - then you have to try to get it back exactly where it was if/ when you remove it. Do you have a sealer to suggest that works on metal? Thank you again for your suggestions. I will probably try them all.
awesome!!! loved your project, so original! question: over the copper tape can you use Tim's foundry wax? or metal paste like from Art Alchemy? I've subbed because I hope you have some soldering videos. I've done some but being self taught leaves lots of questions!!
Hello and thank you for stopping by! On the Tim wax I don’t see why not!! I know it works on non and porous surfaces.. but my only suggestion… is you would have to be careful when you use your heat gun as the plexi glass is thin and will warp on you. If you add heat carefully I’d say yes!!! And for the paste give it a try and maybe give it time to fully dry. You could try to seal it as well?? I always experiment first on a sample pice and if it works yay! And If not, back to the drawing board. 😊
Thank you I appreciate it!!! I recorded this on my phone and it’s not as easy to be precise when the lens is on the bottom upper right hand corner… I was trying to have more of a closer Zoomed in How to Because I was working small..I added notes along the way as well. but maybe I’ll just zoom out more so everyone can see the full desk and not worry about the close up as it was a little harder to be right on!!! But at the end of the day, I know I’m not going to be able to please everyone and I can only do my best… practice does make better. I appreciate you stopping by! Have a wonderful day, creative week 😊
And as for my glue gun it is my workhorse. I have the new surbonder and I keep going back to this one! It has many miles of glue stick ran through it. 😅
@@angiegarciaart oh I understand and I appreciate you taking the time to show your art work so that we can duplicate such a cute piece. Unfortunately, texts may sound more critical than implied. It was just meant to be helpful and encouraging, and I guess I didn’t sound very encouraging. I’m sorry for that. I just want to see all the details because I do want to make some of these. And the hairy glue gun is a badge of honor…it reflects the miles traveled and all of the work you must have created.💕
Is the colour from the liver sulfur permanent or will it rub off when handled? Could you color the tape before you use it or would the burnishing rub off the black?
Hello and thank you so much for stopping by. Liver of sulfur is an oxidation of the metal It will continue to oxidize in the air so no it doesn’t rub off with time, but will buff off some once applied. You could apply it on the tape before, but let the tape oxidize for a night and fully dry, and then wrap your glass with the tape , use buffing cloth and buff back some of the liver sulfur. Hope this helps again. Thank you for stopping by.! 🤎
@@TracyMartin-eo5qu I don’t have a video on that. But heres is what I left in the comment section : I use a mixture of hydrogen peroxide Iodized salt And white vinegar Deep glass jar or thick plastic A ventilated area Sorry I don’t have an exact measurement . I fill the jar with about a 1/4 of the way with vinegar and then I pour in hydrogen peroxide or just enough to cover what I’m going to rust. Then I add a couple tablespoons of salt. I throw the whole paddle of wire in the jar. It will get hot and foam up also will give off a gas. So that’s why ( in the summer I rust outside) ventilate if you’re going to do inside. Remember if you fill to full it could foam over. DO NOT ADD A LID!! I leave in until I get the desired rust on the wire… I check after a couple days.. you can let it dry naturally or do a quick rinse. Pat dry. Do not poor off excess in the sink if you have metal pipes. Dispose of it properly.. I just let mine evaporate Over time my wire gets rustier. Being in the open air… Hope this helps or gives you a little insight to go ahead and try it on your own. 🤓
What a great video. Thanks for sharing 🥰 Just making a few inquiries. What was the thickness of the plexiglass? and where do you purchase your wire? I find only stainless steel and it doesn’t rust lol. Again thanks for another great video 💜
Thank you so very much for your kind words I appreciate it… I purchase my wire at Joann’s or Michael’s in the floral section. It’s just plane florist 30 gage wire. Here is the link to the plexiglass! Hope you give these a go and if you do, tag me! 🤎
Such beautiful items you’ve created. I’ve really enjoyed watching this video. I would love to give this a try. But it’s been a bit since I’ve worked with copper tape. I used to stain glass, and still have everything. I just enjoy the smaller projects now. These are all lovely. Is it possible to get you to move your camera in a little closer please? It seemed like it was all at the top of the screen, while you were working on them. Thank you so much for sharing your creativity.
I’m Sorry you are still feeling this way, as I would have NEVER uploaded a video if 99% of the video was out of the frame or I was completely fumbling. recording videos is an "art" and I will always be working on it. I do these videos out of the kindness of my heart to help inspire "others"!! At the end of the day, not everyone nor l are going to be able to please everyone's satisfaction when it comes to a video...so I'm truly sorry you are continuing to feel this way…Again As I may not be the channel for you, I do appreciate you stopping by! I love this idea. So nice. I want to see inside that little journal. 😊 Do you have a video showing how you make things rusty?
Hello thank you so much for your kind words. I do have. Flip through, as it was a Design Team project for Tracie Fox. As for the rust I do not. I use a mix of hydrogen peroxide, white vinegar, and table salt. I put the metals and ingredients in a glass jar. Leave room at the top of the jar as when these ingredients are mixed they will foam up dispose properly never down a drain. Also use gloves as you are dealing with real rust and make sure it’s in a ventilated area as it will gas off. I do not have an exact recipe for measurement sorry.. 🙂
@@angiegarciaart thank you so much!!😊
They are fantastic, but also a lot of detailed work.

Perma blue. I will try to find a link and put it here.🤍

@@angiegarciaart Thank you ❤
These are so cute and tiny.
@@angiegarciaart thank you!
I really love your style and projects. Is there any way that you could ensure you’re in screen? And that is one hairy hot glue gun😳😃
Where can I find the video on how you rust your wire?
@@TracyMartin-eo5qu I don’t have a video on that. But heres is what I left in the comment section :
I use a mixture of
hydrogen peroxide
Iodized salt
And white vinegar
Deep glass jar or thick plastic
A ventilated area
Sorry I don’t have an exact measurement .
I just let mine evaporate
Over time my wire gets rustier. Being in the open air…
Hope this helps or gives you a little insight to go ahead and try it on your own. 🤓
Thickness of the plexiglass please

These are great but very difficult to watch since you went out of frame way too much for me to focus❤
Have a wonderful, creative day!! 😊
