    In mixed games asking for new setups is crucial in games featuring a lot of hi-lo and lowball, low cards frequently are 'accidentally' bent or scratched as players squeeze out draw. Very common in WSOP side games.

    Interesting about how T9 is in some ways better than AK in short decked because of all the straights. If you added wraparound straights to regular holdem that would increase equity and also make AK a lot more exciting. (wraparound would make, for example, KA234 a straight)

    Dan Cates interview /170810
    Doug, I have to say your interview chops are becoming quite impressive. You really seem prepared and have great Qs. We learn something about the player, his background, psyche and motivations; plus some great "inside baseball" stories that poker fans enjoy hearing.
    The Dwan story alone was revealing and sets right shade he's taken for years by the poker community commenting without real knowledge of this infamous saga. Turns out Dwan wasn't the villain he was portrayed to be. Frankly, IMO, Dan Cates is somewhat responsible and should've spoken up long ago. But the point is you got him to do it.
    You have an engaging, energetic interview style that will take you far and you clearly have a broadcast future in poker - if you want it.
    The PHelmuth interview was the absolute BEST anyone has ever done with him (that I've seen) and, once you got past his massive ego, he revealed himself as a man fully understanding and thankful for his fortune in life and not solely what his "Poker Brat" rep suggests. Excellent job.
    Kudos overall on these interviews. They're certainly a highlight of your channel content and IMHO the best player interviews I've heard in any podcasts.

    hi Doug, do you think all this '' cant make money on stars for a living'' also applies to low/midstake MTTs?

    • @HeRbY429
      @HeRbY429 6 лет назад

      no thats not it at all. you cant beat the rake at highstake games thats why they are saying it. but im not sure if this goes for MTTs at mid/low stakes aswell. its true that stars is literally the single worst poker site there is, everything they got going for themselves is the software and the promotion they do in TV and stuff.
