My absolute dream watch, what a stunner. I’ll never be able to justify a watch of this cost nor do I think I’d ever trust myself with one, but I’d love to try one on my wrist some day, there’s just something so beautiful about the 1921
It is an amazing watch. My definite favourite of the ones I own. But the price is pretty steep. I am still sometimes shocked I spent this much on a watch. But that's watch addiction, right? 😆
@@hand.wound.horology ahah that’s how it is, and it’s all proportional I suppose! As long as the addiction isn’t negatively impacting your life there is no issues, there are far worse addictions. Personally I’m slowly saving and looking out for a vintage Speedmaster, I’ve already got a Seamaster from the 1960s that I love, but I try limit my watch spending. I wouldn’t pass on a 1921 if I happened across that much money though ;)

@@hand.wound.horology agreed. I aim to get a Reverso, but am far from an AD and not entirely comfortable purchasing second hand or gray market without trying on as I have a small wrist, and the watch can wear fairly large.

I didn’t realize this watch came with two additional straps. Is that standard procedure at VC, or did you purchase those two additional straps in addition to the watch?
Only the 36.5mm variation comes with two straps as it is advertised as a unisex watch. Mine came with the brown and red leather strap. The boutique provided the brown calf as complimentary. Thanks for watching 😊
Thanks for your comment. I personally prefer smaller pieces. In particular dress watches. But each to their own opinion. Saved myself around 9k aud too 🤣(larger size costs more).

Cushion case watches wear slightly bigger than the dimensions suggest. I like wearing smaller watches as I feel a watch should compliment your outfit, not be the main attraction.
Do you mean the dial is titled to the side?There is historical significance for this design. 1. Is know as the preachers watch. A famous public speaker wore this watch during sermons and when preaching as he was able to look at the time discreetly without bending his wrist. 2. Also known as thee drivers watch. When holding the steering wheel 8 and 4. They would wear the watch on the inner side of their wrist. They were able to view the time quickly and conveniently without taking their hands off the steering wheel. It's interesting to know how they solved problems back then.
Agreed it's not the best colour. But the smaller 36.5mm piece is targeted at the female market. I guess my wife can also wear the watch or I can wear it during Chinese new year 😆
