They use proper grammar, but it never feels like they sre snobby or condescending. And I love how Laura will laugh and jokingly scold herself if she gets tongue-tied.
I love to watch their videos in the evening sitting in bed and their voices are so soothing that I have drifted off to sleep while watching a couple of times. My husband has commented about the nice quality of their voices, too.
I vote leaving the mulch in the cut flower garden! Love the whimsical look of the garden growing into it, the moody color fits every season (especially lined with pumpkins in the Fall👀?)and the fountain, standing out more in all its glory ⛲️💕🥰
Y'know, you've mentioned your evening strolls to look at the garden each night. I can’t even imagine putting Laura and Aaron on the spot by asking to show more of the kids or more of their special family moments. They are trying the best they can to raise their family, make detailed videos, work on projects, help the community and are human beings.
It seems like many of their viewers have formed very intense parasocial relationships with them, and it’s a bit discomfiting to watch from the outside.
@@GardenKath yes, absolutely. They recently said they don't want to become a "family channel" for many reasons, including the ethical ones of putting kids on camera when they can't consent. I'm happy they focus on gardening, imo.

You bring so much love and positivity and info to so many peoples lives. I enjoy listening to you to the point I watch the videos more than once.
I love the way you handle the criticism or "harassing" as you called it. You let it roll off in a very charming way & I wish I could have a thicker skin. Example, I've never been taught to quilt but I make everybody who wants one a quilt. I made a t-shirt quilt from each Cross Country race of my daughter & a lady at church said, "yuck, I would never touch that." Not gonna lie, it hurt my feelings. Later I found out she has 2 guild memberships. It's not enough to stop me from creating them but I don't show them to anyone anymore. NEVER STOP BEING YOU LAURA!💖
Ms Hamilton, you just never mind that lady. I would love to see your quilts! I bet she just makes hers as art pieces, with no emotion or meaning behind them, other than beauty, which is fine, but I feel like quilts were meant to be made from parts of our lives; we can look at them and remember things that brought us joy and happiness. Those kind warm our souls as well as our bodies. Yours are priceless and I'd be honored to see them!
I'm sorry that lady was so rude to you. What you make comes from the heart. How thoughtful of you to care enough to make such a personal gift. I can understand your feelings. My mom stopped at my house to look at my gardens. She told me some looked like puke, others were dull and some just ugly. Some people just don't have filters. And this is why I enjoy watching Laura interact with her mom. They have the relationship I can only wish for.
Oh dear….so many emotional struggles. I am so sorry. Negativity is like a relay race….people try to hand it off to others. Do not accept it or let them. It is their conditioning. That really stinks. I've been there a time or 2. I'm wondering though if she was thinking "you never really can get out all that sweat and to make a quilt out of it is just harboring it all" idk but I'm sure yours is a treasure to your daughter 🥰
One of my dear friends had all of her softball jerseys made into a quilt. She treasures it. A really great way to presetve great memories. Negative Nancys with their guild buttons can take a flying leap, is my opinion. Keep shining your light and sharing your gift!
I love how when Benjamin shows up you engage with him. It’s real family time even when you are working. You have such a sweet family. I love seeing him just pop in, and I would imagine as he and his sister get older they will be popping in randomly all the time. Looking forward to seeing them more and more!
I’m a truck driver and when we end up with extra food on our loads, we look for food banks to donate it to. Hard to find ones that are open. We had a police station take the product when the food bank was closed. You would think the food bank would have a 24 hour phone number and want what they can get.
They would have to have someone on call 24/7 for that. They usually don’t have funds or manpower to do that. If there are specific areas u return to, call ahead and get a contact for each food bank so u have a direct number to call during off hours.
Unfortunately we are never in the same place at the same time and no way to plan on when and if we have product left on the truck. Just seems these days ALL organizations are more interested in profits they can apply to “Overhead cost” then what they were created for. Even in the schools. My kids joined clubs to help the community only to find this was what was happening. A local person was dealing with overwhelming debt from fighting cancer. The club decided to do a fundraiser for them. Raised over 2500. My kid came home pissed off that day, when I pressed the issue I was told that the needy family received only 500. Out of that 2500.the rest was going to “overhead cost”.
Just thinking of what an impact you’ll be making at the food bank when they accept donations again. Imagine families receiving fresh produce!! Fantastic that you share so generously.
you always make me feel better about my bargin shopping to the nice things I spend my money wisely on the things that matter and giving away things that still have use but not to me is the best feeling. Thank you
1,000 onions!!! I would have a field day making canned French onion soup and dehyrating tons for onion powder, dehydrated onion chips and dehydrated onion soup base mix for other soups!!!! Takes time but sooooo satisfying!!!! 🧅 🧅 🧅 🧅 🧅
I did not buy new furniture until my kids grew up and then guess what? I had grandkids. I have learned not to save anything for a later day. As I am older now, I buy things when they are needed. As for the new truck ramp, trucks do fade but I would love to have a ramp. Love your videos and really look forward to them everyday. Thank you both for the time and education you provide.
I just love the interaction of your conversations between you and Aaron. Having him involved is so great. Some synomononous words for 'pretty' and cute': Lovely, Charming, Delightful, Pleasing, Darling, Delicate, Beautious, Beautiful and Adorable.
“What nice pieces do we have?” 😂 I’m finding that Aaron and I have more and more in common every video he is in 🤣 Recaps are definitely my number two favorite videos you do😊 Of course tours are number one 😏
It's always learn something new every day. I'm past middle age and always learning. You might eventually feel content and than after few years you feel different Abt it all and need to change it all. Like I have tons of like new tops and this week I'm thinking they're not my style anymore. I wanna get all new clothes and thrift the rest ! The wobbly table will suffice til u come across another.
The days of wall-to-wall carpet are over. Everyone I know has replaced theirs with hardwood or tile. We are so glad to no longer have any carpet in our house. Removing area rugs/carpets is so much easier to clean.
I love the timing because it's end of day for me in Ireland, so no matter how things go at work, I always get to come home and relax with Aaron and Laura! 😊
To remove sharpie from the tags, try using an expo marker. Just scrub over the words, let it dry the. Wipe with a dry paper towel. Learned this as a teacher.. removed lots of names from binders and things! ❤️ 🌸
It really pays off long term to teach children early on how to treat furniture right. Also, what rooms food can be taken into, putting toys up before bedtime, etc. If ya'll start using coaster on the scratched furniture now you will be in the habit when you replace with nicer furniture. Grandma gave that valuable info along with more great advice.
I had a above ground pool and my kids grew out of it, I put it up for sale and the person who came to buy it , we decided to just give it to them. They were soooo happy because the wife was pregnant and she really needed the pool.
General rule is to have carpet professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. Replacement is usually based on many factors: quality, age, wear and tare, and if its no longer coming clean with maintenence cleanings. You guys are a blessing!
Honey you do it your way! I love your gardening and your recipes and I’ll probably love canning The ones that love you will back you. Besides you can’t please them all…
Benjamin saying "I've so chill" at the end of this video was just too cute! Loved the "Give Laura lemons comment, its so true. Your family is such a joy to watch!
I noticed that you said “pretty” and “cute” a lot too in the day trip with your mom. I enjoyed the experience of tagging along virtually and would hate to think that either of you would “edit” yourselves by trying to find different adjectives. Your video was lovely and authentic - wouldn’t want to watch it any other way.
Replace carpet, if you have kids? We quickly realized to ditch the carpet and get some floating wood flooring. Much easier to replace if need be, we haven't had to replace any in the 15 years we've had it
I really like the look of the mulch between the flower beds on the new property. I think grass there would be such a hassle. Also love the contrast of vining crops working their way over the dark mulch.
Your comment about the little boy vs. the blue spruce tree. Your perspective was a great reminder to me about what's important and what's so much less important. Hope they find him soon. God be with him and his family.
We purchased a large upright freezer and I’ve started freezing my extra produce. My Vidalia Chop Wizard makes quick work of cutting onions perfect every time..👩🏼🍳👩🏼🍳
I too need to LOOK at a project for awhile before I’m comfortable with the next phase. If I give it time to breathe, I normally get a sudden realization of how to do something far more easily and naturally.
hi laura, i was drawn to your channel because of those succulent arrangements, and ive been watching your videos since. its like my day wouldn't be complete without watching your videos, and ive learned a ton from them, that my garden just looked better. and its just great that we viewers are like, a part of your life in a way, thank you, youre such an inspiration. sending love from Philippines
Mmk...I may be a bit off/late but I had to say this now....the “totem pole” grasses have been @ the top of my wishlist for a LOOOONG time but I could never get my hands on them (offline)😩 When u presented those beauties in ur video...that re-ignited my fire & we finally tracked some down..and discovered our new favorite nursery in the process!😍👏🏻 They had 2..we ordered 4 more...just picked them up & they looked so good we snatched up one more for good measure😜 (& some great perennials as well) 😍I’m so glad I didn’t settle for something else..now I’ll have the screen that I really wanted! I’m about to start planting right now & I’m so happy to get this started! You motivated me once again! Thank u GURU!!🙏🏻😁
I agree with Aaron, the color wouldn’t match because the sun would make it fade. When you’re ready for a new Ford truck, let me know. Just wait though because I think you guys need the hybrid, and right now inventory is very scarce.
Laid carpet with 3 kids, (new born, 2 yr old & 5 yr old adding 2 golden retrievers & a quaker parrot) 29 years later, still looks good but we bought the best at the time so who knows.
Talking about the Pears, my Mother used to make fried pear pies. I dont think she even used a recipe but they were the best pies I had ever eaten, We didnt have I much growing up so I would go home at lunch and that is all I had to eat, it was great then, I have never made any, I have learned so much from you Laura, I have never had such beautiful Petunias as the Bubblegums doing it like you said to, Many thanks, Love your videos.
Laura, if you want to live with your antiques, do as the interior designer Timothy Corrigan does with all antiques and other furniture. He uses marine varnish on them. You don't have to be afraid of watermarks or any stains. He puts it on 17century furniture. Also, he uses outdoor fabric on upholstered furniture. You can also spray fabric with impregnation spray
I see how funny this is when speaking of watching Laura work in the garden! When they speed up the filming, I can see her really moving that fast in real life. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Lord, please keep that little table for memories. I wish i had the small lamp we bought for our 1st home with our last $5.00. We seriously needed a lamp and now 50 years later it would be so special to me..
Laura and Aaron, have you seen the permeable pavers that you can grow grass through? They are supposed to protect the grass when you drive on it, but not show. So it just looks like a grassy path, but it actually has structure underneath to prevent ruts and damage.
Hi, just so you know you can purchase truck ladders to add on to your original tailgate. My niece purchased one ,my hubby installed & she loves it. Enjoy your videos!!
When Laura suggested an AMSR seed harvesting I literally gasped! I can’t wait. I would love something like that, especially because your videos already help me relax and smile so much 💜🥰
Would love to know how you make tomato sauce and can it, if you do do that. Have learned so much from you. I would come back just to see all the beautiful things. Your family is beautiful. Your home is beautiful. Your land is beautiful! Also enjoyed the cocktail hour w your mom, the detail you put into made it look SO FUN!
Today: "Yeah, we shoulda went with the bigger John Deere." 2 years from now: "Yeah, we shoulda went with the bigger Hartley." 😆 😆 😆 Love the videos! ♥️
I feel like your gut feeling is right, mulch would be better for the cut flower garden but as I always say it's your garden and you do whatever you want :)
Hi Laura and Aaron! Another fun recap! I agree, keep the mulch down the center and off to the sides. It looks so neat and tidy. The green around the outside should be enough. I hope your food bank, or a soup kitchen, etc. can use your extra onions. It is so sad about the missing boy in Fruitland. My heart goes out to the family and community. What kind of noodle dish does your Mom make for the kids? I love noodle dishes and would love her recipe. Thank you so much for sharing! Also, please give an update on the quail eggs and Benjamin's butterfly garden.
I love how natural you guys are. Enjoy when you do your updates & it’s a family affair. Totally understand why Samantha Grace is not in many of videos with the heat you guys are suffering through. Keep up the awesome job of . I personally think it’s wonderful that you share the bounty & what a shame it is that your food bank isn’t allowing you to bring produce etc. in. Much fresher than what they are getting. Admire what you do for your friends & family.
I rewired my 1917 house, while thing, and thankfully it didn’t destroy the whole house. Had a bunch of holes, but found a great hot mudder who came in after and it was like it never happened. 👍🏻
You should put a wooden floor in. With your home being older, that would look amazing. Have you thought about doing a test run of doing half grass/half mulch to see which you like better? It wouldn’t have to be very big
I love the mulch in the cut garden showcasing the vine crops and flowers growing into it. We have a gator and use it on a few different paths to our barn. You may find you don’t get ruts, but the grass may lay down after several passings…at least ours does…doesn’t look bad per se, but definitely can tell the difference.
I'm at 86F/30C today 96F/36C tomorrow. ugh. We have no pasture left and we are having to feed our steers hay. I'm so over this. My large window box faces south and is looking awesome, but the hanging baskets and other gardens not so much. If these temperatures are going to become a regular thing, then I want everything put on a drip line. Hand watering is a lot of work. But on the bright side. My lavender over wintered and has been flowering beautifully. Never thought the day would come that I could go out and harvest my own lavender here in Alberta.
Hey, commenting from Manitoba. It's been a brutally hot summer. I put a drip line in my flower/veggie garden and it was a game changer. I couldn't imagine how much hand watering I would have had to do this summer. No regrets.
Prior to finding your channel, I knew nothing about plants and gardening and did zero because of my lack of knowledge. I’ve ventured out through the years and have learned so much from y’all! Thank you for sharing your life with us. You make a difference!! ❤️
y'all do the best vidoes, hands down.... how you are able to remember everything about each video is amazing, i can't even remember what i did yesterday, lol... sheesh... love the interaction between you both always and today, i learned about tractors! who knew? another great week - glad you took a day to spend time with your family (happy birthday, Monica!)... and Benjamin being "chill" is the best... have a great weekend, everybody! :)

Praying for Michael Joseph and his family.
My sister pulled all her carpet and put down linoleum. With 3 kids and pets she didn’t want to worry about her carpet while they were young...practical
You both always appear so positive and genuinely kind. Don’t let the negative and cray comments get you down. I love the sassiness right back! 🌶
Chop your onions in a food processor and freeze so when the fresh ones are gone you will still have them for cooking.
you always make me feel better about my bargin shopping to the nice things I spend my money wisely on the things that matter and giving away things that still have use but not to me is the best feeling. Thank you
1,000 onions!!! I would have a field day making canned French onion soup and dehyrating tons for onion powder, dehydrated onion chips and dehydrated onion soup base mix for other soups!!!! Takes time but sooooo satisfying!!!! 🧅 🧅 🧅 🧅 🧅
Laura, God bless you for caring so deeply for that missing little boy. We need more empathy in this world today. I pray they find him
Ahhhh Laura you look so fabulous in that demin colour, it just brings out your blue eyes, you go girl!!! xxxx
“What nice pieces do we have?” 😂 I’m finding that Aaron and I have more and more in common every video he is in 🤣
Recaps are definitely my number two favorite videos you do😊 Of course tours are number one 😏
To remove regular Sharpie from the tags, wipe with rubbing alcohol.
I love how we keep getting these mid day. I drop everything and take a break! Love the recaps!
I love the timing because it's end of day for me in Ireland, so no matter how things go at work, I always get to come home and relax with Aaron and Laura! 😊
They are my favourite… is that crazy?
I know!
Aaron's oopsie premiere with live chat was such a treat, wasn't it?
What?! I missed it!!
General rule is to have carpet professionally cleaned every 12-18 months. Replacement is usually based on many factors: quality, age, wear and tare, and if its no longer coming clean with maintenence cleanings.
You guys are a blessing!
I learned that to keep the warranty, they need to be professionally cleaned once a year. 👍🏻
“I’ve been so chill.” 😂
Honey you do it your way! I love your gardening and your recipes and I’ll probably love canning
The ones that love you will back you. Besides you can’t please them all…
Laura I can not wait for you to host an afternoon tea in your Hartley🌹
Benjamin saying "I've so chill" at the end of this video was just too cute! Loved the "Give Laura lemons comment, its so true. Your family is such a joy to watch!
Sorry miss quoted " I've been so chill," lol
I noticed that you said “pretty” and “cute” a lot too in the day trip with your mom. I enjoyed the experience of tagging along virtually and would hate to think that either of you would “edit” yourselves by trying to find different adjectives. Your video was lovely and authentic - wouldn’t want to watch it any other way.
Same. I thought they weren't able to relax and enjoy it as much if they were thinking of new words to say.
Oh my, hope the little boy is found safe!!! 🍀💕
Thank you! Benjamin, a big hug from Massachusetts, you are a breath of fresh air 💕
Replace carpet, if you have kids? We quickly realized to ditch the carpet and get some floating wood flooring. Much easier to replace if need be, we haven't had to replace any in the 15 years we've had it
watching you!! smiling as its finally raining in Delaware!!! Cute and Pretty MUST STAY WITH YOU!
You talked about a compost area, do you still plan on doing that? The garden creates a lot of compostable materials and that could enrich your soil.
“The improper cook”. Sounds like a great new show for you Laura😂
Oh no, that poor boy 😔 praying for him and his family.
Tip - if you want to reuse plastic garden tags use hand sanitizer to remove Sharpie. Works pretty well. 👍🏻
Does Samantha have a finished room yet? I loved seeing Benjamin's room, it was so sweet. Love your content!
Love how Aaron helps you dream and process out loud=rare:)
You can remove sharpie by covering the writing with a dry erase. Generally it removes the sharpie unless the surface isn't smooth.
Totally have always wanted you to leave the mulch in the cut garden!! It’s so freaking pretty!!! :)
Today’s carpet is much more family friendly. Don’t wait to replace carpet due to kids, adults have accidents too! 😉❤️🌼
Laid carpet with 3 kids, (new born, 2 yr old & 5 yr old adding 2 golden retrievers & a quaker parrot) 29 years later, still looks good but we bought the best at the time so who knows.
Switch to hardwood!
Yay! I love the sun porch!!! Hope to see a RUSSEL cameo!!! 😊💖🦋🌸🌼🐝🐈👍👋
Thanks for answering my question, I feel like a celebrity now 😎
Also, praying for Michael Vaughan. I hope he is OK 🙏
- Aaron 'me being a 'city kid'... LOL - my husband was a 'city kid' and I grew up on a farm. Huge difference! Love all that Aaron knows!!!
That’s the funniest thing you’ve ever said - “I’m a slow mover anyway.” Hilarious, Laura!
I see how funny this is when speaking of watching Laura work in the garden! When they speed up the filming, I can see her really moving that fast in real life. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Praying for precious Micheal
YES!!! Can Aaron please do a video on all his John Deere equipment?!?! Pleaseeeeee 🙌🏽🙌🏽
When I did my onions I would dice up a bunch of onions then put in ziplock baggies and freeze for quick use.
Lord, please keep that little table for memories. I wish i had the small lamp we bought for our 1st home with our last $5.00. We seriously needed a lamp and now 50 years later it would be so special to me..
Praying for Little Michael to be found safe.
Laura and Aaron, have you seen the permeable pavers that you can grow grass through? They are supposed to protect the grass when you drive on it, but not show. So it just looks like a grassy path, but it actually has structure underneath to prevent ruts and damage.
Here in the UK they are called gravel or grass grids :)
@@sarahsgarden9684 they might be called that here in the US too, I had to google the name ☺️
Hi, just so you know you can purchase truck ladders to add on to your original tailgate. My niece purchased one ,my hubby installed & she loves it. Enjoy your videos!!
When Laura suggested an AMSR seed harvesting I literally gasped! I can’t wait. I would love something like that, especially because your videos already help me relax and smile so much 💜🥰
The close up and crinkle of the onion in one video got me so excited. I was like...more of that please!!!
I use nail polish remover to clean my plant labels, does a pretty good job.
Rubbing alcohol will also remove sharpie.
I love that you are able to roll with the flow with Benjamin. And he is such a sweetie and so chill!
Fruits freeze so nicely! Water mellon makes great flavored frozen cubes.
5:35...”what nice pieces do we have?” 😂😂that cracked me up! I actually laughed out loud 🤣🤣
Today: "Yeah, we shoulda went with the bigger John Deere."
2 years from now: "Yeah, we shoulda went with the bigger Hartley." 😆 😆 😆
Love the videos! ♥️
PLEASE do a mean tweet video!!!! OMG that would be awesome!!!!!
I feel like your gut feeling is right, mulch would be better for the cut flower garden but as I always say it's your garden and you do whatever you want :)
One of my favorite things is coffee and garden answer it’s calms me.
I’m laughing so hard at the “bluebird” trying to eat the blueberries
"I been so chill." Oh my gosh. I laughed so hard. Thank you Benjamin!
Try using self leveling feet on your table. They screw in and you can adjust each one until it’s level…no more wobbles.
No regrets.
@@heh3810 Hi, Thanks.
Prior to finding your channel, I knew nothing about plants and gardening and did zero because of my lack of knowledge. I’ve ventured out through the years and have learned so much from y’all! Thank you for sharing your life with us. You make a difference!! ❤️
Laura your voice made me cry. Sending from up for this family.
y'all do the best vidoes, hands down.... how you are able to remember everything about each video is amazing, i can't even remember what i did yesterday, lol... sheesh... love the interaction between you both always and today, i learned about tractors! who knew? another great week - glad you took a day to spend time with your family (happy birthday, Monica!)... and Benjamin being "chill" is the best... have a great weekend, everybody! :)
