in the original game, the father’s purpose for taking in misaki (misae in this game) was to produce a daughter for him to marry. he wanted to take ai for his wife, not misaki.

Another creepy thing that was implied was that the mom was a minor. I mean that’s really all I can think of when she mentions in a diary entry that if she goes to the police then they’ll take her back to her parents... like this freak really went and did this to a teen (as far as I can tell) and then of course did all that fucked up stuff to her baby. At least that’s how I interpreted that statement because it doesn’t make sense for the police to do that if she’s an adult??

Later on she imagined Busco based on the past event and write the story. That’s why Busco looked like Pedro and Pedro also asked if they have met before~ BOOM 🤯 💥

I think the silent game overs actually worked very well for this particular situation, because it leaves you uneasily wondering exactly what "daddy" did to her. I somehow doubt it was quick or pleasant... _Shudder_
Also, it annoys me that the game went "legitimate self-defence is bad! Sends you crazy!". They could totally have created a "normal" end where she flees, traumatised (both by what she found out and what she did; even when justifiable and committed in the heat of the moment, killing someone is going to leave a heavy emotional scar, especially on a sheltered kid like her). In that end she could have gone off with Bosco, representing her clinging to her delusions rather than face the harsh reality. Or shown her having gotten help, but Bosco (and maybe even the "monster") is still around, signifying how she hasn't managed to move on from the events of that night. I don't know, I just feel like it would have worked with the True End better.

The original was quite different. No imaginary friend, no mother pictured. Ai was chained originally, wore bunny ears & a bra. There was more physical violence makling the story more horrific. The translation is much improved here & there's less diary pages to find. Otherwise it's reminiscent of Mad Father... I honestly think I prefer the old one, even tho the English was much worse. Some of the original game was in Corsican - so it's like it was French, translated to Japanese, & then to English - with all that, it's very good! I'm glad to see the new version.

Hoo boy, this was a pretty twisted story, even by horror-RPG Maker standards, especially with the horrific implications of the Bad Ending. I'm curious what the original was like. From what I read on a Wiki page, apparently Bosco was a new addition to the story and wasn't in the original. Guess he was added to make the story less horrific?
this was fairly dark, but the original version was SO much darker. there was no bosco, the mother was never shown, the story was a lot more brutal and direct about what was happening to ai, and jugo was her biological father, instead of an impromptu stepdad. if you haven't seen a playthrough of the original yet, it's a whole 50 shades darker.
Just listening to Manly saying "Daddy" so much is giving me chills.
You see...in spanish Jugo means juice, now if you take the juice and pour it into a glass. It becomes juice in a glass. Next start adding some knives, some mop hair, and a bit of dark words, bit of todoroki's dad and then toss it in the refrigerator for 11 hours and then take it out and leave it with a sour lemon next to a garbage pile and BOOM you've got your new fresh lovable sweet *pyscho* dad!

You know a character's a villain (or at least sketchy) when Manly does THAT voice for them.
My Question is how did "bosco" or someone striking in perfect resemblence and connection to him get in a body. Its like shes so caring of him that she like drew someone over across space and time to another reality of her own that perfectly hits the spot of that particular "make up character" and he even is just like him. Thats crazy. I'd love that sort of luck man even only alittle, wanting or liking someone that perfect and they actually become reality lmao. Strong effing magic. Or maybe the twist is, he was actually an oni or yokai the entire time and basically said something like, hes make believe just so they could properly go their separate ways. I really think that might of been it, cause you see him in the background just fade while they walk out and they both feel like they've been close for a long time lol. Cause I mean he was really smart and everything and knew when to stay hidden etc. And said he'd "protect" her. In fact what if hes the reason she didnt die from the car hitting. And they used a "mirror" to wake her up. So I think this makes more sense than someone being cared for so much they came through space and time to another reality, which I say because they're the same age, its unlikely in probablity that this guy just happens to be born the exact same age and looks exactly like him.

I think that maybe the lock was harder to picklock? It could be that Jugo got specials doors to prevent someone breaking into the house. As for the other doors, he just didnt thought Ai would be capeble of breaking into his room, so he just got simple doors.
Or Ai was to afraid to picklock the front door becouse Jugo could hear/see her doing it, so just finding the key was safer option.
Probably bcs Bosco was her imaginary friend. The Rat boi isn't real. Bosco represent a part of her that wish for freedom inspired by the big mouse doll in her room. A persona which she wished she have. But she's scared. She's also drugged to hallucinate and feel unwell all the time.
So the first time she go out of her room and explore her house, she doubt, that maybe all just a misunderstanding, so she hope for the best, hoping the father wasn't really evil. Sadly, when she already know the fact, there's not enough time to pick-lock the front door. Bcs when she found the note pieces, we can see that she's very much in denial. She gets very anxious knowing the truth and having a hard time accepting it all, meaning she still wish for the best.
That Golden Cage ending *gag* Still an interesting game though!

That one ending is really creepy... the one with the little brown hair kid I mean. So the dialogue implies that he did the bad no no thing with Ai right? And then he probably killed her? That's just too messed up... who knows what he'll do with that kid after all? Besides the drugging to keep her weak and inside that is.

Perfect neighbors to the Drevis family, Manly nailed that. The Golden Cage ending is easily the most disturbing moment in the game, if only because it's easily to tell who Jugo's new daughter's mother is meant to be. The True Ending does make up for it, though I was half-expecting the same last twist as Mad Feather's to shock the player. It's too easy to compare this to Mad Father honestly, even having the same noticeable character trait in Aya's and Ai's mothers which they end up inheriting. Mind you, I'm not comparing the two as an insult to Bluebird of Happiness. This was enjoyable.

Something is going to tell me that Ai is going to write a new book where her and Bosco get together now that she met his real-life counterpart. The girl twin will be very happy. XD I wonder if the story Ai wrote is dark though. And, if so, kids shouldn't be reading that stuff. 😅 If Ai were a real person, I'd be proud of her. Not many people come out of such traumatic experiences so nice. It takes a lot of strength to do so.

So this is a remake, and I think I know the game you're talking about. I don't remember the name, but the story sounded very familiar, about the girl being kept in her room at a house with a pedophile father who murdered her mom to keep her all to himself. Even the ending with the car crash sounds familiar.
I remember it because the translation was not the best. I can safely say for sure that this remake is an improvement.

The Golden Cage Ending reminded me of an Ending from "The Dark Side of Red Riding Hood" where the Wolf has his way with Red Riding Hood.
It has quite the Schock Value but its a fitting Bad End for a Story like that. As much as i want to slap myself for writing this lines.

Personally, I prefer it when the games aren't nearly so forward about the plot. No clue how else to say it, lol, but it felt like the last part was just "ok, player, here's the plot for ya." I guess it would have been nicer if it left a lot to just being hinted rather than it just telling you what happened, especially with the hallucinations and the drugs. Still a nice game though.
Man, I'd love a game that is far more subtle about the horror, and slowly builds, and... Oh yeah that was "But I love you" and the creators fucking vanished after their Kickstarter and I'm still mad, 4 years later!

that plot hole aside, that... that bad end. dear god that bad end. mad father was SOMETHING but at least its bad ends were just like, standard blood and gore. what fresh hell was THAT? if this - with all these WONDERFUL implications swinging around - is the toned-down version, what was the original????

there's a difference between the kind of horror elicited by blood and guts and the ones that are emotional. psychological horror is the term, and I find it way more appealing than gore.
Man, between choosing to survive a deadly encounter between my father or my mother, I'm not sure which one has the best odds.
Remember: In real life, no one ever survives a deadly encounter with their own mother, especially if you have siblings.

y'know, I loved this game, and I notice from the comment section that this is a remake, but from what I heard, I'll settle with the remake, and also, I think I legit teared up a bit from the ending, cause it was just so perfect, and I felt so proud of her, and the after credits scene was...*tearful chef's kiss*
also something I realized, just like in the Mother video, this video's thumbnail has a close up of the dad's crazy face ( the mother video had the mom's crazy face. ), and now I'm realizing WHY ARE PARENTS IN THESE TYPE OF GAMES SO CRAZY???
I don't know much of what I'm talking about, but seeing the story and reading the credits about the multiple personalities the ultimately being one person, I think this come from a place of experience from the author. This details what it's like to find out you've been the manipulated all your life, - lighting, narcissistic behavior, and of course be... Sexual abuse a little child. I don't know the writer's story, but I hope that if it comes from a place of reality, that this was very therapeutic for the authors.

Really. He was so out of place in the real world. It was so obvious that he was just Ai's imaginary friend.
Samir Salomon It was probably to lead up to the part where Pedro bumps into her years later, resembling her imaginary friend who she loved dearly.
I guess it would make sense as he was talking to Ai. Especially with the drugs making his touch feel real.
Utterly horrifying to guess that the father was... like that... and then i thought "Nah that's too dark". Step-by-step realizing that no, they are going that dark. It's disgusting especially since this is a reality for some.

i also thought about this but y'know sometimes you just can't get the answers
when you're in a coma/unconscious, you can still hear, your brain just changes the way you recieve that information. say, being told in a dream. doctors around her talking about him not making it, her hearing it unconsciously, then Bosco telling her ergo makes sense
