Installing Vinyl Porch Soffit and Aluminum Fascia

  • The final project for finishing the exterior of the house is installing the vinyl soffit and aluminum fascia on the eaves of the porches. I'm using the left over cut off pieces from the same ProVia soffit material that we used on the ceilings of both porches. The material length worked out perfectly so there was literally no waste from each 12 foot piece. Then with the aluminum fascia installed I can have the gutters put up and we'll finally be ready for the rainy season just as it arrives.

Hilly Billy Jig! Epic! Oh That view! Property + house is looking great. When are we going to shoot off some limbs again and get the subs fired up?! ha! No more drinking from that dirty brown mud well. Hoping to see a time laps once finished. Also a review on what we would of done different. Love your DIY, Love your channel, Love how hard you both work to make this happen! Much Love, The Shire! 😉

That looks great! I can't wait for the garden build! I converted my backyard into a raised bed garden and that is due in part to Jamie's early videos. So, of course, I'm stoked for that part of the build for sure.
Came way down to hide the following: you can see my garden under my name just as you see it. This is in no way a solicitation for a sub. Just thought I'd tell you guys in case you're curious to see my garden.

Will you put rain water tanks in to collect from the down pipes?
Where I live in Australia we wouldn't dream of not collecting rain water, its absolutely essential.

When I saw that ladder set up, yikes! It reminded me of my grandma and grandpa she would say “William Wayne, that contraption is gonna get you killed. We are going inside now and if you don’t come in for supper I’ll know your dead. DO NOT yell for me if you only get hurt because I just told you so”. We would go inside and every 15 minutes or so she would tell me go sneak out there real quick and check on your grandpa. You must have his guardian angel now. 😂 She called him Bill so when the William Wayne was being thrown around I knew she was mad at him.

Looks great. I just worry about vinyl looking good long term. I will probably chicken out and do steel soffit because I don't want to be messing around with that stuff 15, 20 or 30 years later.

It looks gorgeous! I've been wondering if you guys had a garden this year down the hill at the trailer area at the previous site? You both have been so busy, but with everything going on with still having supply chain issues etc, was wondering if you guys took some time to put in a basic one?
