Exactly what I was looking for to make my soffits look uniform! Thanks for walking me through this! The only tricky part I think I'll have is where I have to go high on the ladder! 🙂
So simple and straight to it. I love how clean and professional. U do not make people feel intimidated by your teaching method! Loveit👍🏽💪🏾
Thanks for the demo. I have been trying to find a contractor to fix mysoffits, squirrels have ripped them out but no one wants to do small jobs. I,m pretty good at doing repairs myself For a retired woman and now I’m going to do it.
So true. It’s challenging to find anyone to do small jobs right now
How did it go?? Give any additional advice or tips? I’m learning to be kinda handy myself
I definitely would do such work.. but kuddos for doing it yourself.
I am a first-time-Soffitt installer (DIY). Your instructions were clear and more helpful than other videos I viewed. Next I start vinyl siding. I hope to learn from you again.
That was a simple, but complete explanation. Exactly what I was looking for.
Really clear, concise, and straightforward video. Thanks for the help and for your service!
As a new property adjuster, now I know! Thank you for this video. 😊
THANK YOU! finally a video of actually installing them. So many others had that title yet none actually showed it well. Yours showed it perfectly 👌
Thank you my friend. I'm truly here for you guys! Just another guy trying to relay information to the public!
" Perfect "just what I was looking for.
This is the best soffit and fasica video I've seen anywhere, been looking all day
This is exactly what I was looking for. I recently bought my first house and it doesn’t have any soffit vents on it. Only plywood at around 15 degree angle with 4 vents on each side, front and back. This video made it not seem so hard for someone who has no idea on any sort of remodeling. Thank you!
this is not a great reference guide from someone who does this for a living
@alexwyman741 I'm replacing mine, can you point me in a direction of a video of someone who does it well in your opinion?
This is a great video! I’ve had to rebuild things a handyman did wrong- or finish jobs because the next guy doesn’t show up. From now on I’ll just RUclips and do it all myself! Thank you for this one- birds are pulling out insulation or nesting inside because my guy just can’t seem to get back for 2 weeks to put it up. I’ll do it myself now that I see how!!
Wow, that was a lot more simple than I thought it would be. Thank you
Great video, I never knew replacing fascia board could be so easy.
Thank you for such a good video. This really helps with what I'm getting ready to do. Thank you.
Thank you for this easy instructions. It relieved me because I never know how to do it before. Thanks again.
Great video keep up the good work. The whole barn build is giving me a heads up I’m residing my home.
Good real world demo. Thanks for taking the time!
Agreed, this guy makes it look easy and fun actually.
Fellow vet here. Nice work bro! This was helpful
Great job!
Clear, concise and well done 👍
Appreciate your hard work.
Frank Maffei Thanks Frank. Appreciate the kind words.
Thanks for the demo. I've installed mine and it looks great. Thanks.
Thanks. My house had been constructed and they used staples to attach the soffits. Some have pulled loose. Had someone come out and they wanted $750 to fix a few droopy J channels. Your video motivated me to do it myself.
Just what I was looking for.thanks. Enjoy your weekend.
Straight to the point, awesome. Thank you
Thank you! Your videos helped me do my house and I am truly grateful save a bunch on money
Very good. I like keeping it simple this is exactly what I needed to see. Now I can do it on my own. Thank you. 👍
Thanks things changed alot since I been in construction and watching this helped me get updated on new material out there.
Lee L Thanks my friend. “My way” may not be the gospel, or so to speak, but it’s always worked for me and I’ve never been called back to a job. Thanks again my friend and I hope to see you in future videos
What do I ask for when I go to Lowe’s? Soffits?
What kind of saw was that to cut the soffits?
good video! simple, right to the topic, no big annoying logo introduction, background music at the right ratio, then the content, clear, simple, right to the point. good job, I'm subscribing.
Nelson Lueiza Thank you my friend. We’ve been away for awhile trying to settle into new positions at work. We plan on trying to get a video out this week. Thanks for the support. Take care, and god bless!
Helpful video cant find anyone to do this project so i am going to do it myself. Thanks.
Thanks for the video and your service to our country.
Best video I've found by far!
To the point, and focused. I subscribed.
Much appreciated. God bless
Exactly. What do I need to do on an old home, I just purchased. Very clean simple example. Thanks.
Very helpful and easy to follow
I can't wait to try it!!
Perfect video !! THANK YOU!!!
Good video, thanks, it was very helpful.
A timely find...Thanks.
Great vid...from start to finish 👍
Thank you so much ! Very informal
i have done it many times ...super easy dear...great video
Had a bit of hurricane damage here in Florida...12 ft section of fascia was ripped off winds...thank you for the instruction (I subscribed immediately)!!
I have same hurricane damage in SWFL. looks like step one is to remove the existing fascia. I just have random mangled soffits do I need to take a whole section out and start over?
P.S. my soffits aren't screwed in or they probably wouldn't have blown out
Thank you. Explained very well. Nice a simple and to the point. I am going to do some soffit work with confidence. Please do a video on how to take soffits down without causing damage. Thank you and God bless you also.
Thanks, Brother- I needed this info and you made it simple.
Wow imagine seeing pastor Joe in the comments of a soffit video. Heck ye.
Why didn't you show the most difficult part of the soffit job. The last far right side piece? How does it terminate at the end?
Thanks for this Video 👍good information
Thank you for sharing this Intel! 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Perfect. Thanks for the info
Thanks so much, it's such a great help I just need to replace mine.
Great video. Thanks
Thanks. You made that a very simple to understand video.
Thanks, I had done this in 1999 but couldn't remember how. Thanks a lot
the intro tho. LIT!
Looking for this Thank you so much!!👍👍🙏🙏🙏
Thank you , I needed this!
Thank you, I’m going to give it a try. Wish me luck!
How did it go.
Nice video. Thanks. So I have a hip roof. How does the vertical trim piece finish out on the corners?
Thank you for the video. It helped me see exactly how to do it. I would have just installed the whole length as one piece going sideways. But now i know. Lol
Thanks!
Thank you for your video! Very helpful!
It doesn't seem to hard to do it well he makes it look easy I'll paint my house this week then tray to see if I can do that. Very good video sir
I'm installing PoE cameras through my soffit. I wanted to see how this was constructed in case I botched it beyond repair. Awesome video!!
Me too.
thank u ..beautiful video.. now i know i can do this
Great video thanks.
This entire time I thought soffit was one long piece, this clears up many things LOL
Thanks! Really helped
I have been in a discussion about soffit application and you mentioned leaving a little looseness in the flange connection for expansion contraction . This helps me to make my point on why you should not run nails or screws thru the material anywhere other than the slotted holes provided. Although sometimes it becomes necessary to use a trim nail here and there. The discussion is primarily about starting the soffit from top center of a rake and working down in both directions . Bending the top piece in the center and thus going backwards in one direction. I think its wrong for a few reasons.
Thank you
Thank you. I am 64 disabled and you wouldn't believe the prices I have been given, so I've decided to do things for myself, and so far, I have saved 5k😅
Thanks..looks fairly easy......except when you get to corners?
excellent video, Thanks!!
Thanks for the video
This is awesome! thank you!
Thank you!
Great video. To the point, grey footage. Great hints. Thanks.... doing a shed
Glad it was helpful my friend!
Thank you so much for a detailed video. I am not looking to do that. I have no skill in this. I had a contractor come out to diagnose why attic is so hot and he says "6 sections of perforated soffit panels should be cut down, cut openings in wood soffits to clear away insulation blocking air flow and reinstall removed panels". This all sounds greek and latin to me :-) and he is quoting $960, Is this at least in the ballpark. I am not trying to underestimate skills here but don't want to pay double for something that's simple. Your video helped to understand why we need soffit panels (airflow). Ours is a 25+ year old house and generally in a great condition (to provide context), Wondering whether this is normal or unusual in a old house that they did not vent the attic properly.
I notice you say you cut the soffit short to allow for expansion and contraction which I totally agree is a good idea. Then I noticed you put screws in the valley of your soffit material which doesn't have a slotted hole and you put the screw in tight so that the soffit can't move, the same with the screw you put in the manufactured edge which does have a sotted hole. So my question is should it not be fastened using the slotted hole and maybe make another hole in the valley to allow it to expand and contract??
You are correct
Love the intro music too btw
Thank You Brother!
Joe Harm Anytime my friend.
Hey, Good job Guy, Just what I was looking for.
Would have been nice to show starting the install with the first piece. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for the video! This is a huge help. One question, you didn't use a soffit panel. isn't this vulnerable to birds and other small animals? I'm trying to figure out how to attach the soffit panel but if I can do without then it would be a whole lot easier.
Great video
Those is how you do a video. Give the relevant info and speed up the rest. Thanks, I think I need to use this method instead of what I was going to do. Much easier!
Excellent Video - What type of screws do you recommend?
What kind of blade do I need to use, I tried to use my chopsaw and it seemed to have a blade with quite a few teeth but it chipped up the ends of the siding and didn’t make a great cut? Any suggestion on blades would be appreciated? Thanks
Do you have a video showing how to finish the end piece?? From what I see it will be the edge with the slots showing. What covers that?
very nice
This is exactly what we were looking for. Thanks! Do you recommend a particular blade for sawing through soffit with a miter saw?
More teeth the better
Great, just what I had in mind. It replaces using wood.
Thank you, well explained. What type saw are you using to cut soffit?
I use my miter saw to cut them with a 60 tooth blade! Thanks for the comment my friend! Take care and god bless!
You measure from the house towards you. But how long do you cut the sofit the direction you going to the right?
What about baffles for insulation and screen to keep bugs out?
I seen the facia nailed on the front end where the gutters will overlay on top of. Would this be visually more better since it’s hidden or you recommend from bottom like that
I am putting soffit and siding on a large workshed to match my home. The Hight is 13.5 feet. I have a problem with boring bees and wasps that I can't reach, so I will probably go with a solid soffit to keep them out.. But can i put up the soffit first before putting on my siding? Thanks! I enjoyed your video.
It would have been nice to see a picture of the screws you used. Definitely looked easy enough. However it didn't show how to cut the facia if your existing board is a 2x4 instead of a 2x6.
Any special screw or will any type work?
Very useful video; thanks. Too bad your neighbor was practicing drums the whole time though.
Is it okay to wrap the preexisting wood soffit with aluminum soffit panels?
