The self angling stair rail is genius. I'll bet that saves a ton of time. Everything is coming together nicely. The colors, styles, textures and materials you two have chosen are meshing very well. The build looks great.
Such a pleasure to watch how you think through all your projects. The rails are really giving a beautiful finish to your porches. Congratulations again on your great job.
I like how you break it down and really show us how to do the job. It looks super awesome. It is going to be so great when you finally get to live in that beautiful masterpiece and can really call it home.. so wonderful guys.. Love it!
When I built my patio I had a few options. I went with a slab on grade. Then built 40 inch stone walls on 3 sides of the patio. The reasoning for that over open rails is that in a firestorm the fire coming up the hill behind it would deflect the sparks away from the attic vents. I've heard of many stories where the house an be built fireproof except sparks enter the attic area and that is not a readily accessible area. My cousin lost her house just under that circumstances. I also nailed fine mesh screens over every attic vent and installed power attic vents to compensate for reduced natural attic ventilation. Yes 40 inch tall solid stone walls was VERY EXPENSIVE. However, just one fire could destroy my investment. Plus I get privacy and it deflects the winter storm winds away from the house.
Yaaay! a new project, that looks like a great product. You did a fine job Jeremy , I enjoyed the video. I look forward to the next video, thank you for this one. Hello Jaime 👋....
Well I ll say this I know quality material when I see it this stuff is beautiful each thing you all continue to do just keeps getting better and the porch columns are the finishing touch I'm here waiting
Railings and post system looks awesome. Should last just about forever. Whole porch looking great. Just noticed your pump house in the background. Some of the stone you’ve been using would dress that up nicely. Great job on whole house project. Looking forward to your next video. God bless. Keep it up.
Those railing are awesome. I used them on my deck last summer. I had 21 sections. Yeah, it a big deck with two 45 degree bump outs which was easy to do because like the stairs they also make variable railing angles too. You guys are so close to being able to move in! Keep it up b
Gotta say that looks sweet. Color matches nice also, you have done such an excellent job on your house. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and for letting us enjoy your videos.
These look great for your application, knowledge, and location. I’m not sure a weekend warrior would have an easy time. It’s great they are made to code.
The porch and railing is looking so darn awesome! As usual, you are give excellent instructions/easy to follow. This house may be taking some time but it is just beautiful! I chuckled at your comment "ask me how I know"... Thanks again for another great video!
Lol... awesome vid... well done and detailed enough to keep us from de-railing... #askmehowIknow Thank again Jeremy for knocking it outta the park with excellence and humor! Smiles and blessings...
Aloha! You are AMAZING! I am so impressed with everything you do and wonder how in the heck you have enough hours in the day to do what you do! Researching, building, sponsors, video. (just to name a few) I understand editing and uploading youtube videos are quite time consuming. You are doing 3-4 jobs - WOW! THANK YOU! Much love from Hawaii
Oh if only I could do things over. Never again would I have a wood deck, too much maintenance. You will be sitting there enjoying the view while I'm out staining deck floor. I love the height of the railing because after 3 pina coladas I wouldn't have to worry about falling over the railing. Awesome job, looks so amazing!
Why do we never see your Family anymore in the videos. kinda turned into a DIY channel. Lol. Have a great day. 😀😀😀😀 No Offense intended, Do enjoy the vids.
People watch these to learn how to do stuff. Quit skipping important steps of fast forwarding through them. At least describe exactly what you're doing and how you're doing it prior to the skip. Something that may seem obvious to you isn't obvious to others such as myself. If it was, I wouldn't be watching the video!
That looks great! You definitely had me crackin' up here there too. 🤣 Good thinking ahead on the site line! I look forward to seeing it all complete.
You and me both!
@@Guildbrookfarm - I can only imagine the anxiousness on your part.
@Paulla Wells hello lady I haven't seen anything from you in a while.
I hope all is going well for you and the family.

I still have a funnel and a tool box I made in 7th grade and that was 1971!!
A true Craftsman at work. We’ll done. Like the attention to details and patience for quality work. Thanks for sharing the build.
looks amazing!!!
I love how it's noticable you always do a massive load of research.
I try

This is a great alternative to wood railings. It looks very classy and totally compliments the stone work! I love it!
Beautiful, absolutely love the color!
Me too!

We don't have a vented attic but yours is a good strategy for those who do.

Love the way those rails look against the stone!
Good idea to offset the railing on the outer side of the porch columns. Excellent How To video !

Very nice railing! Well built porch!
Beautifully done.
That's something else I appreciate about your videos, the technological terms like right angle doodad. Lol you do have a sense of humor
Great video. It looks good and I love that it's made in USA 🇺🇸 I want to buy that for my deck redo.
You should! It's excellent and should last forever.
This is pretty slick and looks great too. We are getting ready to get our build started in a couple of weeks.
Love the look. Nice video explaining the install process.

Thanks Rula. It’s definitely a job 😉
Wow that is look great. It is going to be beautiful just like the house.
42" is the proper guard rail height per code if the drop off you are protecting is more than 30" high. Hand rails is ~ 36". Good choice.

🤣🥂
awesome...!!!
Very pro install. Nice looking product, too. I may have missed it, but are you doing the other side of the stairs as well?
I haven't decided yet.
@@Guildbrookfarm ok… I guess it’s not a code item then. Good luck- looks great.
I think only one side is required by code, but if I have to do both sides I will. I just don't want it to look cluttered with railing.
@@Guildbrookfarm gotcha
@@Guildbrookfarm Also depends if you have southpaws around.
Not to mention, if you ever have grandkids/friends round with small kids, that extra height is just that bit safer
You could maybe put some little hanging baskets along the rail for easy access herbs.
Yep
How far are you guys from the Appalachin trail?
Why not use the pad even though you are on concrete?
Stainless steel washers for making post plumb on conc works well, curious did you consider glass for railing on porch
Those work well but 💰Didn’t want to do glass here, we get a LOT of wind this time of year on top of the hill.
love hoe the rails and everything fits together.
Where did you buy the product from? Apologies if I missed it...

why did you skip mounting/bolting the posts to the stone? that's what I came for. :(
I think I showed that in the previous or next video.
