    Thank you so much for showing the 'ugly' my paintings never seem to get past that stage, you have shown me the most important part, it means so much as I never knew how to get to the next step. So sorry I cant afford your (or anyone's) Patreon I know I would learn so much). I cant believe how many layers you did...maybe 8 or 10? I am going to re-watch this straight away then watch all of your other videos. I am now a new subscriber.. thank you so much from Western Australia... (I'm 71)

      Thank you! Yes, painting in layers and then adding details takes a while. Patience is required.

    This is stunning, a masterpiece, Do you work wet in wet most of the time or wait until the layer is dry

    • @CaroleRodrigue

      Thank you so much! This was done in several layers, each needing drying time in between. If I worked wet on wet throughout, I’d just have mud.

      The result is so great, actually I only paint in acrylics and pastels. Perhaps I should try oils

    Hi there, this is an amazing painting and I am vey inspired! Could you please let me know if you let the oil paint dry between layers and how long do you wait before you add the next layer? Thank you 🙏

    • @CaroleRodrigue
      @CaroleRodrigue  3 года назад +1

      Thanks Adrienn! I do let it dry between layers. As soon as it’s dry to the touch, or set enough so the paint doesn’t mix, I add the next layers. I also use Liquin so that really speeds up my drying time.
