    Just wanted to watch someone draw or paint a bear. That’s what I searched for, that’s what I came for, that’s what I got. Very pleased. I love bears. Cooler than dinosaurs no cap.

    Unbelievable technique that creates the allusion that when touching the bear’s fur your hand would disappear. You are so very talented and creative! Keep your videos coming with different choices of animals. This is my first viewing of your videos and I am looking forward to many more. Thank you!

    Man, he is a big ‘un. Good choice on the 48”x48”. Really let’s you pull out the details in the eyes, muzzle, and fur. But, again, it really pops when you apply your technique- especially the glaze and final highlights. Another fine one, Joel. Troy

    Love your work Joel! I love drawing in charcoal. My first drawing was of a Model T Ford that belonged to my art teacher. That was in 4th grade. I quit doing art for years and picked it back up a couple years ago. Recently I rediscovered my love of charcoal. Watching your videos is inspiring to me.

I would like to try because this is the nickname of my teddy husband 😊 but I am desperately looking for à photo and nothing please me as much as your. If you prefer to keep your référence I will understand. Already a big thank you for all tant I learned

    • @JoelPilcherArt

      There are many resources for artist reference photos. I either work directly with a photographer to gain permission or purchase rights from a website. If you google wildlife reference photos for artists you should find some good ones. I can't remember exactly where I got this one. Thanks!

    Es un duro en dibujar bien grande increible, como hacen las sombras, y el boceto todo a pulso no necesita copiar todo a pulso maneja bien las proporciones, eso deberia demorarse bastante el cuadro.

    Awesome work, Do you prep your canvas before the acrylic or charcoal base layer? I've heard of using watercolor ground medium, but it's very expensive to cover a canvas that size.

    • @JoelPilcherArt
      @JoelPilcherArt  3 года назад +1

      No, I buy the canvases stretched and pre primed, but I don't do any additional prep to them. Thanks!
