    Just wanted to commend you on your patience to achieve what you consider your finished product. I find myself always wanting to go back to my paintings to refine and change areas trying to create more realism. When is a creation complete? Also, where do you get your outstanding wildlife subjects to create your paintings?

      It's always difficult to decide when a piece is complete. At some point I find I have to force myself to walk away otherwise I might never. I work directly with photographers to get permission to use images as artist reference, or I purchase rights through online resources.

    When you seal a piece like this that is charcoal and acrylic do you use the same method as just an all charcoal or charcoal/oil glaze? I saw your sealing video and wondered if that applied to all of your artwork regardless of the medium. Thanks in advance.

      I use Liquitex satin varnish for charcoal art and for charcoal/acrylic. I use Gamvar satin varnish for charcoal/oil paint artwork.

    do you prime your canvas before surfacing it with charcoal ?

    • @JoelPilcherArt
      @JoelPilcherArt  Год назад

      No. I buy them stretched and pre primed, but I don't do any additional prep.
