Just now found your video and I have never done oil paint, but this is beautiful at this point, you’re a great teacher and great explaining each step that you’re doing. Thank you
I really enjoyed this. You did not have lowed music in the background and you didn't chatter all the way through. It was very relaxing to watch you work. Thank you again. ❤
Thank you for making this video in real time. I totally understand what you mean by hating the painting after the base coat. I know it's cliche, but it's so true, "trust the process!"😂 This is just amazing!❤❤❤
@@deborahcarrillo9624 To avoid overpainting, let layers dry before adding more paint so you don’t end up with mud. Paint a layer, let it dry, add another layer. After you’re satisfied with the details and how the whole looks, you have to make decision to stop or keep adding, but again, make sure to let each layer dry. Ending a piece always boils down to a decision, when you say enough.
I often use the tip of my pinky finger to rest somewhere and keep my hand steady, and sometimes my wrist is resting on my other hand, but you don’t always see that in videos.
Great video,no annoying music and straight to the point no messing ,interesting and very helpful Thankyou ! Malvern.England

I have to add to my post that I have never painted with oils. I use acrylic paint but I love the look of oils more. ❤
Love your work and the laidback way you teach in these tutorials. Thank you.

Thank you so much for this wonderful tutorial!
You are so welcome!
very nice indeed, but I would ask you to do more full tutorial of oil painting. By from Lecce (italy)
Thank you for sharing .
You say at the beginning line art. How do you make your line art? Thank you
This is stunning. Did you paint this all wet in wet?
I work in layers, so never wet in wet. I let each layer dry before applying the next.
Trying to order this paper…what’s it called again? I want to learn on smooth paper before I try it on Masonite or a board
It’s Arches oil painting paper. It has a bit more drag than a smooth panel, but much better than canvas.
Are you holding your hand above the painting?
I often use the tip of my pinky finger to rest somewhere and keep my hand steady, and sometimes my wrist is resting on my other hand, but you don’t always see that in videos.
