It is impossible for me to state how incredible I believe the Beatles were. I'm a professional musician and have played everyone from Gershwin to Tchaikovsky to Bernstein. I can tell you that I have never come across composers that have not only written such great music, but in SO MANY STYLES. And the Beatles not only composed, but PERFORMED their music on their instruments, and SANG also. I honestly believe that it will be another thousand years before the stars align to bring a small group of such talented people together. And another little-noticed piece of their impossible puzzle is that the voices of John and Paul blended so perfectly, and when combined with George, produced harmonic overtones that few could equal. Think of them singing "Because." The choir-boy sweetness of Paul contrasted with the sardonic growl of John. Their harmonies would please Mozart. I don't believe in anything 'supernatural' but the coming together of these impossibly young people at the perfect time in history was straining the limits of probability. I am so glad i was around when buying a new Beatles album was an event worthy of excitement and celebration. By the way, the songs here are two in the medley from Abbey Road that was voted the best work the Beatles ever did. And i completely agree.
