In February 2010 I purchased one these same saws and a handheld leaf blower also Husqvarna branded, the leaf blower was a piece of crap, but that saw I still own, after hurricane Maria down here in PR things were hard especially when I needed a new chain, all I could purchase was an Oregon 18 inch bar and chain combo, the saw came new with a 16 inch bar and chain but that saw moved that 18 inch just as good, made some good money with it in them days following the storm,I have always kept in good shape and always tear it down and clean it after each use.
bought this exact same saw, started same as yours when new. after 20 minutes run time it would not idle, had to stay on the throttle all the time. after 1 hr run time, it would not even start. tore it apart and cleaned the carb, runs pretty good now. must have been dirty from the factory. "CHINESE CARB". Here's a funny thing, I bought a Poulan pro 295 new in 1998 or 99. has run like a champ ever since, have worn out 2 bars and several chains, have left it in a unheated shead every winter full of fuel. it has always started 2nd or 3rd pull every spring. Admittedly though, everyone I know that has bought a "green" Poulan saw, has had issues with it.
GoGreenPM Im sure youve heard it a thousand times, this is a Poulan unfortunately, sly move by Husqvarna. I think you'd be very happy with a lightly used Stihl MS250 or 026/ MS 260. Great saws.
I bought the 240 from Canadian Tire as well, just to use as a limbing saw. I have my Stihls for the main cutting tasks. About two minutes into cutting it bogs down and craps out. Then have to wait a good 20 mins to let it cool down before it will start again. It doesn't even have a tank of fuel thru it yet. Go figure.
I'm not sure they could have changed it but the last husky I had took a 40 to 1 mix which is more oil than your 50 to 1 mix running 50 to 1 in a husky or poulan want work they are both 40 to 1 saws and that oil you set Adobe is probably a special break in oil all ways read your stuff First stihl and huskies are professional saws people down hear make a living with them
No, it is built to last longer than poulan. Husqvarna builds poulan as cheap as possible to make the saw cost less for the typical homeowner that needs a chainsaw once or twice a year.
@@donaldbower4097 Thank you. I have learned that about Poulan since that comment. I learned the hard way too. I will never even consider using a Poulan ever again. They're disposable junk.
