This comment is to warn others about the restaurant Plachutta Wollzeile (and this is no way to undermine the RUclipsrs, experience), I went to this restaurant today. What an awful experience. I didn't even get to try to the food. I'm a solo traveler and was seated and I swear about 15 min went by and no waiter acknowledged me, not even a hello. Then I saw a couple that came in AFTER me and were serviced IMMEDIATELY and the waiter answered any questions they had. I saw waiters service empty tables more - I'm not joking. I went to their Google reviews after and saw an American customer saying they 100% felt it was discrimination. That's what my gut was telling me too, but couldn't be certain. It was either that or I'm a single person so they'll make more money/tips with groups. Either way, that place is vile. I ended up leaving. It was my last day in Vienna too. Just please read the Google reviews on that place, a lot of people felt they were discriminated on, I'd hate for other to feel disappointed when on vacation (or at all).
Thank you for sharing your experience! Very unfortunate that you had to go through the same service quality that we also experienced when we recorded the dining experience. It was also mentioned in the video. Unfortunately service quality is lacking in Vienna in general. Rude service is considered authentic which is clearly unacceptable and very sorry for you and also the restaurant because the food is honestly good. Beside that I hope you had an enjoyable Vienna trip! Best regards Puria
@@KhyatiPuria Thanks Puria. Yes, very disappointed as the food looked good lol. Oh well. I still think Vienna is beautiful and have met people who are decent here.
@@gerliesb2857May is maybe the nicest month in Vienna. It can be chilly in the morning, but most likely very nice and warm throughout the day. Dachstein is a very high mountain, you should pack clothes for freezing temperatures and windy conditions as well. Better not need them than be sorry. 😏
@KhyatiPunia we are visiting austria after dec 20 from kerala, India . Please suggest some local tour agencies there ? Which all are the best winter spots in vienna
Hi Khyati and Puria, your videos were so much helpful to roam in Vienna. Especially the food options suggested. Could you also suggest a reasonable shops to buy souvenirs? Some of the shops are quite an expensive (like world of souvenirs)
Very glad that our tips have been useful to you! Unfortunately we aren’t familiar with souvenir shops yet, but you definitely want to skip buying souvenirs in the first district. There is one on Taborstraße 5 which I heard good things about! But we never experienced it ourselves! Maybe worth checking out.
Thanks. We will definitely check it out. Btw the cheesecake at Truth cafe is one of the best thing we ate. If it was not mentioned by you guys, it would have been missed.
@@shankar1211 😍 it's the perfect dessert. If you like creamy stuff and cakes, this cheesecake is a must-try 😍 If you haven't had a Sachertorte yet, definitely also try the one from Kurkonditorei Oberlaa. They have multiple branches spread around the city.
@@KhyatiPuria Thank u for the recommendation. Noted, along with this yummy cheesecake from the beginning of the video. I love Kaesekuchen & Streuselkuchen.
Definitely carry EURO - not USD. Don't have personal experiences with exchange offices but hopefully you can really on Google Reviews here. We personally love Revolut for withdrawing foreign currencies. Definitely check them out if you're looking for a convenient way to withdraw foreign currencies without the hustle of exchange offices. In the process of booking my flt tkts for a 21 day trip to Vienna and Swiss, 2nd wk of August, Thank you for a Very good coverage of Vienna. Planning a 3 nt./ 2 full day stay, be4 proceeding to Salzburg. Any suggestion from you and any one else on ideal location to stay. I prefer A BnBs. Much thanks!
We strongly recommend checking out the Bassena Hotel. www.trip.com/t/aihxomZfrT1 Great location, well priced and great connection with the city center.
As we are driving from bratislava and having halt at vienna for 3 -3.5 hrs ,Pls suggest a nearest car parking place from most famous sightseeing places .....so that in budget we csn park our car n use local transport to explore city
Google for park + ride garage (P+R). There are plenty spread across the city and very affordable. However If you’re coming on working days they might fill up very quickly by latest 9AM
0:55 The unique thing on the North Tower is not the view but the Pummerin. 1:33 Cafe Central was well known among large tour groups because it was one of the very few which could accomodate 50 - 80 people at once without reservations - thats the reason its became so popular among tourists. Its not the most historic, not the most important, not even the best cuisine...its just a tourist trap. 1:55 Thats not historic but if you want a more contemporary touch...sure...you defintly didnt get the main ingredient of the coffee culture -> its about doing anything you would do in your living room + having coffee served (business, study, reading, playing games, discussions,....). Here is a true story for you: I once met with someone in a coffee house at 9am - the waiter informed us that those seats were reserved for 1pm and if it was possible for us to leave by then. That information was indeed necessary. 5:02 Still Hofburg Palace. 6:34 Tram 1 goes about halfway around the Ring. 11:40 The queue is not a thing at coffee houses - exept for the tourist traps. I have been to dozens and never waited a min. If there is queue you are at the wrong location.
Thank you Khyati & Puria. Love your videos and taking notes when my family and I visit at the end of August of this year. If you can, would you visit Café Raimann on Schönbrunner Str. 285? I'd like to know if is any good in your opinion.
Some good stuff here, but much too much time wasted on talking about coffee culture. You guys aren’t the only ones guilty of it. Almost every travel blogger is. Seriously, most people don’t care.

it's not like in the US, here you often have to wave at the waiters or do something for their attention
That’s something often happens to solo travelers 😢

Great video, thank you so much. Can you please make a video on day trip to Prague from Vienna, thanks
Thanks for watching! Will see how we can incorporate that. But Prague isn't really a day trip destination from Vienna. It's more a weekend trip.
In the summer time, I HIGHLY recommend to go to a Heuriger. There are loads in the 18th/19th/23rd district (not exlusive to those districs though)
Couldn't agree more! Thanks for the input. Maybe we will make a Heurigen tour soon.
Brilliant video again. For the last cafe, is there disabled access to the first and second floors? My wife has an electric scooter. Thank you
Yes there is an elevator!
