My favorite döner is available at Berliner Döner (Zieglergasse 33A, 1070 Wien). It comes with their own sauce and freshly baked pita. They are open every day until midnight (even on Sundays!), and on Fridays and Saturdays until 1 AM. Besides the Apfelstrudel, let’s not forget about the Topfenstrudel (curd strudel) either! The best one I’ve had was in the city center at Gutenberg Café (Lugeck 7, 1010 Wien). It is served warm, with hot vanilla sauce 🤤Yummm!🤗 Oh, yes! I almost forgot to mention the Käseleberkäse Semmel, which you can order at the deli counter in every Spar and Billa supermarket.

It's easy enough to reserve a table in advance online and worth doing if you plan to visit at a busier time. Yes, you can get cheaper elsewhere but you are paying for the ambience, the excellent service, the history, and the chance to tell your friends you've dined at one of the most famous and prestigious coffee houses in the world. Like Tea at the Ritz, Cafe Central should be on your bucket list.

Thank you for your clear and unexcitedly video about these area of Favoriten, where the medias wrote negative things, as if they didn't know it before. Some places in the 10th district were always problem zones - it's not new. You can read about this even from the time of the old monarchy. I know people which worked there in a rescue station years ago and they told me that they had average about 12 missions per night (casualties because of stabbings, shooting etc.). But as you mentioned the 10th district is a large district with a lot of different areas and some are unfortunately such hotspots.

What a great video about Vienna - thank you so much! The punctuality in Vienna in my opinion is caused by the good functionality of a bigger city (big for Europe 😉). But it's not the same in whole Austria. I experienced at example in Southern Burgenland, if you meet people, they came often about one hour later, but not one time, this was usual, it was the "Burgenland time"😂 I had no problem with this, but some got angry and I tried to explain, that the traditions in other areas are other.

Till to the end of the Austrian-Hungarian monarchy we had a lot of nobility titles. Then in the new tiny Austria the socialdemocratic government of federal chancellor Karl Renner has forbidden the nobility titles by law. An aristocrat was so annoyed about this that he let print on his carte de visite "Ennobled by Charlemagne denobled by Karl Renner". But the Austrians were so used at titles that they urgently needed a substitution and so they used then happily the academic and official titles. And so you can experience till now the Austrian "waltz of titles" ,🤣😂🤣

Have been in Vienna for a month now, trying to find an apartment that will allow my family to join me. This video is great and has lots of info that is invaluable to anyone starting the search. It is a tough market - I spend hours online every day waiting for listings, and half the time the vendors ignore your enquiries. I'd definitely recommend finding a temporary place and searching in person while here, unless you have bags of money it will be hard to find the right place for you. There are quite a lot of 1 to 6 month furnished lets in the city that cater to this market (R4R, Homelike, Tempoflat, etc.) Plus the different districts have so much character! Though don't be too hung up on absolute location - the districts are so well connected by the U-Bahns and City cars that these links are more important than distance as the crow flies, and are well worth considering in your search. Also be aware that many properties will require you to have proof of a net income that is 2.5 to 3 times the rent(!), which can make things tough if only one member of a couple has a job offer and severely limit your options as immigrants. Lastly, colleagues have warned me to make sure you don't inherit any unpaid annual maintenance fees from previous tenants - you could end up paying for 10 months of fees for the period prior to moving in, if you are not careful!

I think the title, with its routes from the identical titles of mass media articles, has 2 main reasons: 1.) Austria is and was allways a very, very safe place. In Vienna the objective level of danger is still very, very low compared to other cities with more than 2 million inhabitants. So: An Austrian from the countryside would maybe feel unsafe in these spots you mentioned. But ask people from big cities around the world! Would they believe, that your pictures came from "Viennas most dangerous neighbourhood"? 2.) For the autochthonous people living in the mentioned area not only the subjective feeling of security changed, and it´s not surprising that they regret this developement.

Good video. I am a relatively new immigrant to Austria, having moved here from New Zealand a year ago. I do struggle with the mix of direct and oftentimes indirect communication of Austrians. Also, coming from a relatively egalitarian society such as NZ, the formality and hierarchy of Austria does my head in sometimes. I am torn between sucking it up and becoming more formal just to try and fit in a little bit more (though unlikely as auslanders will always be auslanders here), or maintaining my own identity and the best bits of where I am from, which means I don't care what your titles are, I won't treat you any differently if you are a doctor or making my coffee.
