Couple of mistakes: 1. You say once you leave Vienna, you have to have an additional ticket, yet you point out that the ticket from the airport has to be bought only to Schwechat. Now Schwechat is a different city, isn't it? As is Gerasdorf, as is Purkersdorf, as well as Kledering area of Schwechat. There are so many exceptions from Wien in "Kernzone Wien" that it would be easier to say it covers all of U-Bahn, Trams and Buses ending with -a and -b, whereas with regional buses and trains caution is advised where you are. 2. Never ever use Google Maps, sure they provide you with route, but never will they ever show any disruptions or important travel information while using Vienna's Öffis. Therefore go Wien Mobil, because even as you pointed it out, you can buy tickets there (couple of which, btw, are now cheaper in the app rather than in the ticket machine or Trafiks). 3. The "unwritten" rule of standing right on the escalators IS written, even a couple of times, a big red box at the beginning of every escalator, hard to miss, yet somehow you did it 4. Instead of using Großraumplan von ÖBB, use Gesamtnetzplan from Wiener Linien, all lines on it are in the Kernzone, and it's much more detailed (www.wienerlinien.at/documents/2424499/7499660/Tagnetz_2023-12.pdf/28d46ca1-e198-b563-8911-c2c6358ee301?t=1707905658399) 5. Drinking alcohol is forbidden everywhere on public transport, eating on the other hand is forbidden only in U-Bahn. So grabbing your Käsekrainer to a tram or a bus is not illegal at all. and last but not least, 6. The tram you have shown at 6:12 as cool tram has in fact no AC. Which area is the best for families with children? To have schools near by?

I am heading to Vienna next month. Thank you for the tips. You really gave good advice on real "tourist traps" I should avoid. Other vloggers say do not visit this place or that museum cause its a tourist trap. I think that is silly because it will be ridiculous to skip popular attractions just because its a touristy area. Thank you for letting me know about the Vienna City Card. When in European cities, I try to use public transport whenever possible.

I haven't been at a Viennese Christmas market in a couple of years, but I used to really like the Christmas market at the Freyung, and its nextdoor neighbour Am Hof. Am Hof didn't have the most cosy atmosphere, but some really nice vendor stalls. The Freyung is cute and cosy and very pretty when it's not too full, but can get crowded quite easily.

I meandered through Schonbrunn today! It was nice, but perhaps by being a weekend, it was rather overwhelming with a crowd. I may go back if I have time during my visit here mid-week though :)

It seems that your video of Schönbrunn is not from this year. There is a new operator there, as is the case at Spittelberg, and it looks completely different there. There are two carousels and a ferris wheel. You can also ice skate there. The market has gotten bigger but is still very pleasant.

Some good stuff here, but much too much time wasted on talking about coffee culture. You guys aren’t the only ones guilty of it. Almost every travel blogger is. Seriously, most people don’t care.

I never tipp in Vienna when it’s self service and you pay before you get your food. And it’s super rude to ask for tipps, even via the card terminal, so I never tip those places…. I do tip in sit down Restaurants, how much depends on service and food quality…

Can u get one ticket for the duration of our trip which includes to and from the airport?

My wife and I will be in Vienna at the end of the month for about 2 weeks. I've been here twice and love all the museums and cafés. Definitely visit the Xmas markets and look out for your family stall. The first time we visited was 20 years ago, and it was not overly crowded like now. Thank you for all the great tips.
