Hi, you forgot the main option I always use from/to the airport: the half-hourly Railjet express trains going non-stop to Hauptbahnhof in 15 Mins and Meidling (and further in Austria and internationally). Tickets are the same as for the regional trains, but they are faster (depending on where in Vienna you are going) and usually much emptier. And they offer all the convenience of long-distance trains. One additional feature for travellers from further away: Railjets carry flight numbers, they can be booked with Rail&Fly like connecting flights.
Would you be kind enough to inform us where we validate our ticket if we take a train or a bus? Is it on the bus and train or before we get in? I've watched so many tickets that say to remember to validate our ticket but they don't show us where. Is there a direct bus/train to WESTBAHNHOF? Even with a few stops I don't mind but with WESTBAHNHOF as the last stop. Thank you for everything!
Coming to Vienna in about four weeks! Wien mitte Will be the blosset station to our hotel. We have decided on the ÖBB train. I am wondering about the way BACK to the airport, think I have seen it mentioned that it will cross the city zone and there will be two more stations outside the zone that we need to buy a ticket for?? How does that work? Can I buy a ticket in wienmobil from vienna to the airport (those two stations included) or do ÖBB have a desk at Wien mitte where we can buy the return ticket?
If you buy the ticket to the airport for 3,90 it’s already including the remaining two stations. Tickets to the airport I would advise you to buy directly at the terminal at the train station. Just enter your end destination “Flughafen Wien” and it will automatically calculate your fare. If you have a Vienna public transportation card you can “exclude the city fare” through a checkbox, then it’s 2€ cheaper.
Thank you! Looking forward to our trip! You have alot of great videos with info! Coming from Sweden where we basically do not use cash anymore I have learnt that I need to bring some euros😄
Hi! I am going to Vienna next week. We need to travek from the airport to hauptbahnoff. We want to buy a ticket in advance, because that seens easier. I also heard you can get a 72h ticket for all buses/underground/tram etc in Vienna, is that correct? Does that also include the travel from the airport to hauptbahnoff? I also wonder where to buy such tickets online... would be amazing if you could help! I really love your content
There is a ticket which includes public transportation in Vienna + airport transfer for 24, 48 or 72 hours. It’s mentioned in the video aswell. Around 7:41
@KhyatiPuria thank you. Will probably buy a 72 hours one. I did notice the airport is just outside the main zone by a stop , so need to get a ticket for that and then the 72 hour card. I'll go have another look 👍👍
@KhyatiPuria that's the one I saw it was around €1.80 which is fine and can get it from the red ticket machines all together , there is 3 of us. Thanks alot looking forward to Xmas markets
Hi! Thanks for your video! I’ll be coming this summer in Vienna, do you think I have to book in advance the OBB tickets or can I buy them when I arrive at the airport?
You could buy it online aswell but you have to select a specific timeslot (including a 2 hour tolerance) - in case of flight delays you would have to rebuy your ticket at the self-service terminal. shop.oebbtickets.at/en/ticket
Normally I would say summer clothes as June used to be always a hot month, however this year seems different. Bring layers. It’s not cold but could get wet.
We will arrive Vienna airport with 2 kids and 2 large luggages at night around 11pm, heading to city centre. Do you think pre-book taxi will be best option for us ? It is safe to walk at city centre at night please? Thanks for your video!
You can book your hotel in districts 2-9 to be in close proximity to city center. Definitely check out the Bassena Hotel in 2nd district. They sometimes have great deals. www.trip.com/t/4IUJs7T45U1 E-SIM you can buy online from Airalo. Use code AIRALOJUNE15 to get 15% off. airalo.pxf.io/1rNx5B
No unfortunately not…like all other public transportation it operates from around midnight to around 5AM. Please look up exact times on the Oebb timetables

Thanks so much for your informative video of the Vienna airport. I plan to visit this country soon. Greetings from Puerto Rico.
Hi there,

Hi! I’ll be travelling to Austria in 10 days. What kind of clothes do you recommend packing? Is it cold there?

Vienna is pretty safe during the night - especially the city center. However comfort-wise, I think a taxi is a pretty good investment at that time.
super helpful
THANK YOU SO MUCH ♥♥♥♥
Hope you will benefit from it!
@@KhyatiPuria Thank you! I think it will! Your instructions are very precise and helpful! ♥♥♥♥
