A Ticket for the Vienna Zone (2,40€ or a 24/48/72h ticket ) If you buy the Ticket at the ÖBB Machines they will automatically add the City fare of 2,40€ so your total would be 4,30 € to get to Vienna. When you buy your ticket in the App you need to pick the right discount out of the unreasonable long list haha 😂 it's called "Ticket Stadtverkehr Wien (Kernzone) exkl. Jahreskarte". Another trick is to buy a ticket from the Airport to "Kaiserebersdorf Bahnhof". This Way you only pay the ticket to the border of Vienna 😁 but make sure to have a Wiener Linien ticket for Vienna as well, otherwise you have to pay a fee, and you really want to avoid that ❤️
every ticket is a VOR-ticket 😉 But anyways you can certainly buy it in the normal stations aswell. (Maybe it was a WienerLinen Vending machine and not ÖBB? For within Vienna that wouldn't make a difference, but they don't offer tickets for outside of Vienna.)

No, the 24 hrs ticket is only valid within the city borders (zone 1). As the airport lies outside Vienna in zone 2, you need to purchase an additional ticket from the city border (station "Wien-Kaiserebersdorf") to the airport.

If I buy a monthly pass, can I ride without buying additional tickets both S7 and CAT from the VIE airport to Vienna city center? Is the monthly pass valid for all cities or Vienna and the VIE airport only? If there is zone A, B, C like in Germany, please explain it in more detail. Thanks in advance.
Hello Sasha. Can you please tell me if the mobile ticket needs any validation?
Do the trains working 24 -hour?
I will arrive at 2:30 am
Hey sasha: great videos man. i am travelling solo and first time to vienna for 2 nights only, so the best thing for going around would be to buy 24 hrs red ticket and it would cover all buses, tram and every transportation to travel in city?.
Go for the 48h ticket! It’s 14.10€ or the 72h ticket is 17.10€ 🙌🏻 it covers everything (private carriers obviously not) have fun during your trip! Why only 2 nights? 😅
So helpful.
You're welcome :)!
sasha why on obb website they say 4.20€? thank you
That's how much it cost from the airport to the city center
Hello Sasa, nice video!
I am planning to come to vienna with my two small children (under two years old) how do you recommend go from the airport to our place in 16th district with suitcases and all?
Thanks in advance!
we are travelling from Flughafen to Praterstern.I think buying only S7 tickets without Vor option(1.80 ) we ll be ok.
I m trying to buy tickets from OBB app but there is no option to exclude VOR.All the available S7 tickets cost 4.30(including one way VOR)
I want to buy only S7 train adding a 7days tickets.But the only option is 4.30 +17.10not 1.80+17.10
Probably I have to buy them from the red machines at the airport
When you buy your ticket in the App you need to pick the right discount out of the unreasonable long list haha 😂 it's called "Ticket Stadtverkehr Wien (Kernzone) exkl. Jahreskarte".
Another trick is to buy a ticket from the Airport to "Kaiserebersdorf Bahnhof". This Way you only pay the ticket to the border of Vienna 😁 but make sure to have a Wiener Linien ticket for Vienna as well, otherwise you have to pay a fee, and you really want to avoid that ❤️
every ticket is a VOR-ticket 😉
But anyways you can certainly buy it in the normal stations aswell. (Maybe it was a WienerLinen Vending machine and not ÖBB? For within Vienna that wouldn't make a difference, but they don't offer tickets for outside of Vienna.)
@@viennacalling-travelguide4727 Thanks so much for your replies and they are very helpful indeed! May I ask if I could buy the City Tickets 7 Days instead of the VOR 72 hours, as I need a 7day ticket. Is this the same method you mentioned above, or do i need to buy the Wiener Linien ticket? Many Thanks
Wiener Linien ticket for one week 👍🏻
Thank you for these and other videos with excellent content. However a question for those who will visit Vienna in the next few days:
My hotel is next to Vienna central station. In this case, how can I buy a ticket to this station? Just choose "Vienna" and the ticket price will be the same as the one shown in the video?
Also from what I understand, if you buy the City Pass (without any extra), the ticket by OBB from the airport to the city is not included, correct?
Thanks again!
If you buy it on the ticket machines, by default, the city fare is included. You have to take away manually!
@@viennacalling-travelguide4727 Oh ok, so I just choose "Vienna" and I can go to Wien Hauptbahnhof, is that it?
Thank you , I want to ask you if the 24 hrs Vienna ticket include return ticket to Vienna airport ?
No, the 24 hrs ticket is only valid within the city borders (zone 1). As the airport lies outside Vienna in zone 2, you need to purchase an additional ticket from the city border (station "Wien-Kaiserebersdorf") to the airport.
hi, if we want to go to the city center by a taxi but we want to get 72 hour tickets (17,10 per ticket?) how we'll do it? i saw on the video that you buy a daily ticket in the "buy more tickets" menu AFTER you bought 1,80€ (it's mandatory to buy the 1.80€ ticket? ), and when you buy it you press the "Checkout" button and then how you pay? does the machine gives change?...thanks in advance
Buy them online through the „Wien Mobile“ app or the Website „wiener linien“!
@@viennacalling-travelguide4727 thank you very much!
Hi Sascha, is it possible to share a video with basic viennes language? Regards Justin
In every episode we teach you one word of the week in wienerisch 😎 check it out! 😛
Very helpful
Thank you a lot :D!
So this takes you to Landstrasse?
Yes, S7 takes you to wien mitte Landstraße :)!
perfecto thank you
You're welcome!
Servus und vielen Dank für die sehr nützlichen Informationen.👍
Mein Ratschlag für ältere gehbehinderte Besucher:
Öffentiliche Transportmittel in Wien können zum Voraus online gebucht werden.
I m confuse I only want to go from the airport to weird mitte .Do I have to get the 24 hrs ticket ?
hello, great video, could you tell me that is it ok to take 1.8 euros for a new visitor to the border? or must i but full ticket price ?
where are you from? I am from Pakistan and I will visit by the end of May for an official visit. I am very much worried and scared
plz reply brother if u have got experience and if you are there
@@dr.sadiaadnan1395 I am going to Vienna tomorrow.
@@bekind3050 good to know. be safe and happy. share me ur experiences. for how long will u stay there?
@@dr.sadiaadnan1395 Currently. At the airport. I'll stay until 16May.
We have a 3hr 25 lay over . Is it enough time to go to city center ? Or we cutting it close?
Yes it's it takes 20 minutes to get to the city center by train
Just remember to be back at the airport 2h before, if you have to check in and go through security check again :)
It would be one ticket for traveling within the City and another for the airport?
Yes, exactly ☺️
There are public transport tickets for vienna, but there only valid for trips inside the city. Because the airport is outside the city, you have to buy an extra ticket!
When you buy a ticket is it automatically validated because I heard from a RUclips channel- when you buy a ticket you have to validate the ticket before you get on the train… is this true for immediate use ?
Is Puerto Rico considered out side of the United States? Do I need one?
Fully Agree Alex
What is daily minimum expenses in Vienna…I am planning in august. Can I meet you there
Hey! Actually we will make a whole video about this topic :) we will publish it soon!
hai…what stop station when take train from airport
Hello Sascha, thanks for your helpful videos keep it up please. I have 18 hours layover in Vienna, I got a ticket from VIE to Wien and added 24 hours ticket. When i try to buy the return ticket to VIE before 24 hours ends it costs 4.30 euro i couldn't fnd out how to add the discounts of 24 hours ticket.
There's another trick:
Buy a ticket for Kaiserebersdorf to VIE, this is exactly the route from the border of Vienna to the Airport, and it will be also 1,90€ :D
So the train from airport is 24hrs?
i do not understand why need to purchase another ticket. Isn't the first ticket you purchased from Flughafen Wien to Wien Hbf? The second ticket actually go to where? The 24hrs ticket do not include the transportation from airport to Wien hbf?
There will be a follow up video very soon!
@@viennacalling-travelguide4727 May i also ask why there is two Wien Hbf in the google map? One is Wien hauptbahnhof, one is Wien Hbf( Vienna Central Station). What are the differences of these two stations? thanks
Wien HBF is Vienna central station
thanks
So who's gonna check the ticket?Coz i see a barcode at ticket. So what's mean for?
There are ticket inspectors inside the train, who will check your ticket 😁 so be careful!
@@viennacalling-travelguide4727 Thank you so much.I'll be in Vienna today.
Perfect 😁 make sure to check out the rest of our videos, if you want to save some money, and find really good restaurants 😁😎

I would appreciate to know where in Vienna should you get off the ÖBB
Depends on where you want to go
@@viennacalling-travelguide4727 To the Vienna Intercontinental Hotel
What if you get the ticket that goes to the border. How much?
Hello, Sascha, I'm going to the Vienna on Thursday for the first time, and I only stay one day. My question is, if I buy this 24 hour ticket, is it included also for returning back to the airport tomorrow morning (Friday) or I need to buy extra ticket for the return?
Keep up the great content!
Hello 😁 the 24h Tickets doesn't include any ride to the airport - you need to buy both ways extra
If I purchase a Vienna weekly ticket. Is it enough to travel from Airport to the city center?
No, you have to purchase the train tickets as well - the weekly vienna pass, allowes you to travel within vienna, but the Airport is located outside :)!
Hi sir can we see the way from international airport Vienna to voslau airport
What are you doing at Vöslau Airport? ^^
