Volumes 5 and 6 were absolutely the most intense and exciting. Volumes 3 and 4 were medium amount of DONT RUN. 5 was DONT RUN!!!! 6 was blink of an eye
Sounded like Jon Bunnell just smoked some green in the evidence closet and thinks he’s reading a Dr. Suess book to a Kindergarten class in this one lmfao He’s a national treasure.
😆 I think he was TOO excited during the first one, and the production team asked him to tone it down for the second one, but he went too far. He missed the happy medium.
John Bunnell was not the narrator for the first World’s Scariest Police Chases, it was another guy whose name I forgot. But CW Jensen is there making commentary.
I think maybe these episodes are so early that he hasn't found his enthusiasm yet. He's introducing himself as sheriff instead of sheriff retired and wearing uniform.
Even then he had that witty sarcasm that he continued to have years on the later shows. In all honestly, at least to me anyway, he was even funny during the earlier videos, too.
27:06 The amazing thing is that he was able to go in a straight line, and NOT spin himSELF out, going that fast in reverse. It's NOT easy to do that, I've participated in several reverse races on a paved oval track. NOT as easy as it looks...
@@Trrippy_Shades You forgot the JK if not you're gross. The chase in Japan always caught my interest. I found a little bit, but not much. The suspect was a 45-year-old taxi driver named Takumi Yanagita. His wife had been hiding from him for about ten days in the town of Kitakata when he found her, committed the murder, and took the kids. He's reported to have fired his weapon about 30 times during the chase. A lot of what led to the domestic dispute and subsequent crimes is largely unknown. Going off a quick look at how murder is dealt with in Japan, he likely got the death penalty. Reason for that being that he committed kidnapping/hostage-taking during the crime. Japanese law considers those "aggravating circumstances" from what I can tell. Otherwise, the man and this case have largely disappeared in the sands of time.
The chase happened on October 17, 1996 and lasted several hours. There's no record of a Takumi Yanagita being executed, usually the death penalty is reserved for multiple murders so it's likely he got life in prison. September 26, 2023 4:18 am
@whattheheck1000 As I mentioned, my conclusion was based on a quick look at Japanese law. In this case, the aforementioned aggravating circumstances connected to the murder. In his case, kidnapping and hostage taking. I'm not surprised that it's likely he received life in prison.
21:26 Officer: "What is your problem, bud?" 🤔 Driver: "I need a beer!" 🍺 Officer: "Cancel F.S.T.'s.... Just take him straight down to the station for a blood draw." 😒
Grant you the chases have changed, but I find it interesting to see what changes have come to fruition. Like then they could shoot the tires, now days not so much. The driver that was driving backwards, don't see that these days. To see how things were done back then and how things are done today, but the one thing that hasn't changed is they will get the criminal. Have a blessed evening and stay safe.
24:56 The cut this part off. After the car flipped the boyfriend ran away left his girlfriend bleeding with her arm. He was caught immediately and brought back and showed no remorse.
The driver who stole the truck ran because he smoke marijana ends up in court with a smile thinks everthing is a joke what was his sentence i like to see that smile taken off his face
The chase began when he was heading the wrong way up a one way street where the cop was gonna cut him a break. If that cop let him go they wouldn’t have known about the stolen truck.
This special aired before FOX picked it up as World's Wildest Police Videos. Once the show got picked up as a weekly series, his enthusiasm changed to what we know
Bet that guy at 7:20 will never help the cops again. He did not need to push the guy they could have walked over and took over with out the aggression to the helpers.
This was in Los Angeles. You ever wonder why LAPD is regarded as one of the worst police forces in the country? This is a pretty good example. LASD is just as bad, because of the killer cop gangs.
Officers in the first segment of the video, rams the blue pick up numerous times, and Bunnell narrates.."The suspect hits the officer"???😂😂....other way around actually
Never been able to watch these without laughing thanks to the overexaggerated narration by the 'helicoptor' (who is always the same guy regardless the chase) and the ridiculous sound effects they add it. Like....aren't these chases spectacle enough? Did they REALLY think they needed more?
I’m not taken the criminals side, however, the first video when the host states the truck hit the officer that was not true the police car slammed into the back of the truck.
I understand the rush of adreneline and the frustration the officers must feel during these dangerous chases, but don't lie. The truck "ramming the officer" simply didn't happen, the officer rammed the truck, which was absolutely necessary to save innocent lives. Keep it real. And the officer who fired and killed a driver, was not about to be "run down," the bad guy's vehicle was at a dead stop and the officer who fired, came from behind the vehicle. Be honest, we're not stupid, and we'll have more sympathy and compassion for the police if they tell the truth.
I was looking for this comment about the guy who was shot. I read up on it, and the 24 yo was killed. You can see clearly from the video that the cop ran out and shot the guy out of anger, not to “save his own life”. And the narrator didn’t acknowledge that the guy died at all. After looking through some articles, the suspect was a screw up and a bum, but didn’t deserve that.
I come back to watch this series every time I need some good old fashion justice. I miss when this was the police. I miss when cops protected people even at the cost of their life, cops now will choose their life over a civilians now and so many are suffering the consequences. None of them are the cops doing this to us
This was basically one of several pilots that led to the creation of World’s Wildest Police Videos. Obviously Bunnell’s commentary has evolved considerably since then.
40:30 - "veering through the wrong side of the road." in Japan, the driving lanes are the same as in England. Being on the left is the correct side of the road there although it looks backward to us.
They acfually very strict gun laws in japan google it cuz its very complicated for me to explain. Put it this way when i found out that someone shot and killed former prime minister shinzo abe i was stunned.
the guy with the baby in the back seat, i did not expect the kid to be so young, thank god he somehow had enough sense to strap his son into a baby seat, if that boy was not strapped in he would have flown from the seat and slammed into either the back of a seat or fly into the windshield
I like Burnell's later episodes with his more edgy tone of voice. He has too much Mr. Roger's in him and not enough Gen. George Patton. In fact, I had to turn it off after 20 minutes. It is as if the man is two different people.
That officer would have been reprimanded for letting him go. Bunnell did mention the officer wasn’t gonna give him a ticket for going the wrong way on a one way street.

DRag page down a little and hit search icon and see if they have it I know they do cause I've watched it good luck
Can somebody dig threw all these chases an find the videos with a story behind it, chases that can be stringed to other situations
This really is the calmest I've ever heard John Bunnell narrating one of these.
I thought the same thing
He's on drugs!!!!! 😮😮😂
Trying a different approach
He was pretty calm on all the first videos he did. Even on the World's Scariest Police Shootouts, he sounded like this.
These aren't as wild as World's Wildest Police Videos.
This is the calmest narration I have ever heard. I looked at the 2010 episodes and the old ones and the looks he has now is astonishing.

I was a little disappointed that the lunatic was still alive when it was over.
He's narration went up several levels later on.
John’s Bunnells don’t run from volumes 3-5 gets more severe. Volume 6 was the most intense. A 7up truck becomes a 6-pack of panic
You don't steal something flashy like a Bentley and get away with it.
😆 He wasn't trying to....
Not even god?
I just watched a video of someone driving a Rolls Royce escape the cops in LA. Happened this year.
They steal the really expensive cars because cops are less likely to damage them during the chase. They don't want to hear it from the rich Karens.
Did John smoke that good stuff before narrating? 🤣
28:39: The Almighty sent word to this car-thief who stole the Bentley:
"Son, your Divinity has just been revoked. You're going to prison!!!"
