Man this show was a staple of my growing up in highschool. We'd come home every afternoon and never miss world's wildest police videos and chases.

I still love these episodes and now that I’m older I just have to laugh at the cheesy tire squealing, sirens and fake commentary from the same guy who pretends to be the chopper pilot on every episode. Still, great show and I’m still enjoying them all over again 30+ years later.

This was back in the day when California actually held criminals accountable. Now they sympathize with them😂😂😂 I'm so GRATEFUL TO LIVE IN THE GREAT RED 2A STATE OF TENNESSEE where criminals ARE still held accountable, either by police or civilians!!!

She was way too late to the throw a garbage can at the fugitive's car. And then the stolen bus crash in Beaumont, Texas where the driver gets bucked around inside like a big bucking horse. At least no child was in there after being dropped off by the stranger that kids never knew was a criminal. Most of the chases were from Seasons 2 and 3.

always loved them...until i grew old and jaded and realised all the tyre screeching and crash noise is fake when viewed from the helicopter shot...no way you.re hearing that noise over the sound of the chopper...that was the day my childhood innocence died when i realised that

He was probably trying to slow down and stop and over-corrected, as he might have seen the suspect get thrown from the car and was thus trying to avoid running him over.
That kid is *very* lucky to be alive though. Being ejected from your vehicle means that it's very likely you will not survive your injuries. A few years back a childhood friend of mine (his mother used to be my babysitter when I was little, which is how I knew him and his older sister) died after he'd been ejected from his vehicle in a head-on crash (the crash was most likely the result of him suffering a seizure behind the wheel while he was driving home from, of all places, the hospital) despite him wearing a seat-belt, and he succumbed to his injuries the following morning. Even worse is that the driver and front passenger of the other vehicle were both killed on impact, and they were the parents of four children, the youngest three of which were all seriously injured in the crash (their oldest wasn't present). To this day it still breaks my heart imagining the living nightmare it must have been for their oldest child to learn that all in one night they'd lost both parents and all three of their younger siblings were seriously injured. Only silver lining was how quickly the community banded together to raise money to help support those four kids.
