A quality review worthwhile watching. This level of equi Pment would be more than adequate for 90% of the condition experienced in the outdoors.

The synthetic jacket really packs down well

Thanks Jeff. It's a really good little jacket and packs down small enough for synthetic. Definitely a go to layer for me now.

I have the waterproof jacket and am going to be switching over to it as my main waterproof layer for hiking particularly for multiday hikes. My only issue that most stockists only tend to carry the dull colours black, dark blue and dark green where as I prefer the bright colours 😊

I tend to order most of my Regatta stuff online as I know the medium stuff fits me really well. I do like my brighter colours these days.

Nice review of these budget items. I own both of these and managed to find both in different charity shops - not the same gaudy colours though! They are always sitting in my every-day bag and pad the bottom of the bag quite nicely and are always then available if the need arises.

Ha ha, these are quite bright and not for stealthy walkers! Glad you're happy with yours. I find them relaxing to wear as often on local footpaths you're head high in brambles and don't want to snag expensive layers.

@@TheWalkingKev I tend to trust your reviews over most. I've spent well for the kit I have. I pushed the boat out a bit for a mattress and pillow last week. But still saved money. Pillow was brand new. Paid £30 with discounts. Mattress £76 2nd hand on eBay ( new over £220 ). Both thermarest products. High R values. Bulky but extremely light.
I'm certainly equipped, but because of my disabilities, I'm still keeping things very simple, to practice and be better prepared to then introduce a proper hike out alone with my dog.
I can't jog up mountains with a "trucksack"like you for 40 miles Kev, but I can walk the flat coastal paths taking it easy and slowly 😉

Hi Kev, Good review of these bargain price items, My packaway jacket is the Trespass Qikpac waterproof jkt with a 5000 H/H Rating costs around £18 ,it has kept me dry in some heavy downpours! I have few different Regatta jackets all great value for money and designs are getting better all the time, years ago these cheaper brands were pretty poor miles behind the premium brands but now for style and quality they have come on leaps and bounds, My latest Trespass fleeces are as nice as any of those double or triple the price! I have one huge bug bare on manufacturers- making jackets without a chest/Phone pocket! How many people do not carry a phone these days??? Cheers Mark!

@@TheWalkingKev Hi Kev since I discovered Vinted my outdoor gear has got much better for a bargain price, I have also done some good trading of stuff! I loved my time in Wales doing the likes of Crib Goch and Tryfan, Snowdon was a bit busy but the cafe and the 5 pints made for a happy decent! The fleece jackets I have bought have been around £7-£8 excellent value! Cheers Mark!

@TheWalkingKev Obviously they have lighter jackets haha. The MT100 for about £49 is a steal. Equivalent to a RAB micro-alpine for a 1/4 the price. Just 1 or 2 less frills but perfectly serviceable.
