    Hey
    Yesterday I discovered this and your channel after being in such pain with my right forearm with constant numbness, tingling etc that I actually didnt want to be here anymore. I couldnt even lift 50 gram things without being in miserable pain. A few hours later I was able to game call of duty on my ps4 without any discomfort or pain for a couple of hours and type on my keyboard with both hands and today I hit a very light workout without any pain. Whenever things flare up I watch one of your videos and remind myself that everything is perfectly fine (I had nerve conduction study which showed no damage at all to the motor nerves and just minor damage to the layer around them I think?) and a mri scan of my neck, chest, shoulder, forearm which were all perfectly normal. In fact they said they havent seen such a "perfect" body on a scan. Thank you so much for this. I have faith now that some day I will be able to heal myself. In fact when I was about to fall asleep yesterday every symptom pretty much disappeared and my body came up with a short of breath feeling that woke me up 100%. I had pain in my left wrist and forearm too which have disappeared almost completely too. I literally said to myself this can only be cancer because the pain got so much worse and would continue to get worse even tho I rested it and I had such severe anxiety that I was locked up in my room for 5 years. I have been through so much personally too with my parents that werent always the best (even tho I love them endlessly ofc), bullying, chronic hip surgery at the age of 12 that ruined my table tennis career and now this at age 19. It all makes so much sense to me now and its so scary what the mind can do to distract you for your feelings and so on. The one thing that actually concerned me always was when I woke up in the middle of the night I would have no pain, no numbness, no tingling or everything but as soon as I woke up it would be there

      CR Victory, can definitely relate with the being on the hamster wheel. I must have eight 5-Subject notebooks that are FULL of journaling. Sometimes it helps me to write things out, especially when I need to vent and this is the only way I can, however, I have also found that that can keep me on that hamster wheel and even re-traumatize myself. Thank you for directing me to this video after I commented on your "What Do You Want" video from last week. I saw this video back when you first posted it, but it helped a lot to watch it again today and take notes. I think I'm going to go back to some of my favorite videos of yours and re-watch them, as there is a lot of "gold" there - and repetition helps a lot! I think the soothing piece is big for me, as well as the mindset. I have done quite a bit of emotional work and I feel like I have the foundation down. I have the standard TMS personality - very perfectionist, hard on myself, don't relax enough or have enough fun, people-pleaser, etc. I also think that even after learning about TMS, I've made it too much into a "job" to "do the right thing" and get better. The "What Do You Want?" video really hit me and has given me a lot to think about. I'm going to reply to your comment there, too, but I just wanted to tell you here that I appreciated re-watching this video. Thank you so much for all you do! I hope to one day also be well so I can help others to heal, too. You're a superstar and I really admire you! Over 500 consecutive days of videos - amazing and a mark of true dedication. You're a man with a mission and I appreciate you!

    For me, the moment I feel my emotions, my symptoms either reduce or vanish . I have convinced myself that the pain is merely that exact emotion , misplaced in a part of the body . It can be uncomfortable to feel and release this negative energy as an emotion , but its better then it being dumped in a body part . Feeling pain ? Its just an emotion, is my mind set. Update.... If I have a deep ED, bringing up a cocktail of all sorts of unlabeled stressy crap, it can also cause a flare . sooth and back to life. 😀

      Determining which emotion is causing my pain is the hard part for me? When I hurt, I start searching for emotions, but have a tough time finding the one causing the issue. Is that important? Or can I just focus on things that generally piss me off or makes me sad? thanks

    • @cdracos1
      @cdracos1 4 года назад +17

      @@rootedrotor525Yep, I used to go nuts about this . My opinion is , it doesn't matter which emotion it is . If you can feel displeasing feelings or emotions that's all that matters , sometimes they hide deep, sometimes near the surface and sometimes search less and invite them to come. . The names and labels are man made anyway . Anger might as well be called Mickey Mouse, its still going to feel uncomfortable . Accepted them, sit with them , calmly watch them with confidence, don't judge, analyze or try to fix them........validate and fear them no more . 😎

    About 4 years ago, I accepted and even commited to a TMS diagnoses and worked on it diligently for a long time and I think I quit just as I was getting better now that I look back. I quit just as I was making real progress. So let me put a warning out there. It's easy to get discouraged when the pain comes back (to test you it seems) and then go back to doctors and meds and believing its structural again.
    Now I'm trying it again with the info from Dan and more committed to the end, which I'll have to work on till I'm 6 ft under I suppose.

    I just realized 💡 that I very often feel an emotion at the moment something happens, and then within literally one or two minutes it’s gone from my mind. This is a crucial discovery for me, thanks to listening to your words over and over. Doing that it just as bad as not feeling them at all and stuffing them away. I do this all the time and I can’t believe that I just realized that.! Going to really feel them fully and either act further on them (with whoever is involved) or resolve them and move past.

    Thank you so much Dan. I'm a bit stuck on the emotional discovery at the moment. My main emotion that bubbles out is rage and anger. Even over the smallest things (even a silly advert on the radio in the car on the way to work can have me literally screaming and shouting) in anger. Yet most people say I'm 'the nicest most polite person' and 'always so patient and helpful'. I feel like these anger emotions are not something I want to engage with as they could be incredibly destructive - how can I safely feel or experience this rage as a part of feeling my emotions and my emotional discovery? Thank you again. Mark.

    I have some autoimmune issues but even they are influenced by stress so I think even if you have some physical issues, you can't separate that from the mind and I am breaking point stressed 24/7 so it makes sense to focus on that rather than restrictive diets or other treatments for illness that isn't well understood medically. There are some physical things but overall I don't think I'd have most of my physical issues without the long term stress. Addiction also causes damage to the body but again, that's coming from trying to suppress emotions too.

I feel it’s the frustration that always creeps back that I will work on accepting and working through. Indifference seems to be the most challenging for me..😐

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  3 года назад +1

      I totally understand. Indifference is challenging. The first step towards it is to stop freaking out and catastrophizing as much and move towards a calm, reassuring response to pain and any flare up or change to it. Indifference gets easier with practice and when you know that TMS is truly the only thing going on. You'll get there.

      The overall rule of thumb is to rule out anything catastrophic / life threatening. Once done, we rule IN this thing called TMS / Perceived Danger Pain or Symptoms. The best way to rule in TMS is to do the two assessments on my getting started page:
      www.PainFreeYou.com/start
      If they indicate TMS, then it's TMS. The doctors didn't miss anything. Your brain is creating the pain or symptoms. Hope that makes sense.

    I’m ALMOST convinced that the issues I’ve been having around sleep (chronic/severe/no pain/) for the past 6 yrs are TMS but of course the pain test isn’t relevant for this. Is there any other way to discern what’s up apart from an elimination process which I’ve already done extensively?? As you say Dan, we need to believe it’s TMS in order to move forward...

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  3 года назад +3

      Answer the 30 questions on the PPDAssociation.org/symptoms. The more you can say yes to, the more likely it is that you have TMS. Insomnia may not be classic TMS, but it is most often stress induced and a result of a conditioned response. Look at TMS as Too Much Stress and perhaps this can shift your perspective a bit.
      The good news is that there is literally ZERO downside to teaching your brain you are safe. It can only help. Likewise, try to use memory and imagination to remember when you used to be able to sleep without trouble. Vividly remember that. And then vividly imagine falling into bed and sleeping soundly in your bed which is your sanctuary.

      I healed my severe insomnia and night terrors by using a brain retraining neuroplasticity program. There are many good ones out there such as DNRS, Primal Trust, Vital Side, Gupta, to name a few. In my case, my sleep issues were a combination of TMS and limbic system impairment of the brain.
      The limbic system of the brain’s fight-flight-freeze stress response is not working properly. My brain was so hypersensitive that it took about a year for the insomnia to improve and took about 2 1/2 years to fully resolve. Don’t put too much on that timeline because everyone is different.

    Hiii Dan i done with pain test and i scored 27 out of 50 as in video you told that if you score over 29 then it means it is a TMS so can is till consider it TMS cuz doing daily emotional work i have seen dramatic change in subsiding of my symptoms and pain

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  3 года назад +1

      A score of 27 is still close. If you are seeing pain levels changing as a result of the emotional work, then you can get rid of the pain completely. It's a matter of teaching the brain that the pain is not needed. The steps in this video that you just commented upon are the concepts to implement to turn off the pain.

    I just took your 10 question test. Why in the world would your list of potential contributions factors whether or not someone is spiritual or has religious beliefs? re you thinking such people are blaming the spiritual powers that be for their pain, as punishment for something. Please explain and point me to what data supports this as a contributor. This is important.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  3 месяца назад

      Nobody is insinuating that spirits are responsible for the pain, nor is it "punishment" at all. However, many religious people were raised to believe that emotions are bad and should not be felt. Thus repressed emotions occur. These concepts were put forth by Dr. John Sarno who wrote about some of the first concepts around the mindbdy reasons for pain. Dr. Sarno theorized that these repressed emotions were perceived by the brain as dangerous and when they came close to consciousness, the brain created symptoms to distract the person from the emotions. You can read Dr Sarno's books. Healing Back pain, The Mindbody Prescription where you will see reference to religious people sometimes having a propensity for chronic pain. No blaming spiritual powers at all. Just psychology.

Are you saying, hey, it’s okay to feel these emotions and daily we should take time to feel JUST the emotion of sadness, or guilt, or anger and don’t put a reason behind it. Or should we take the time and feel the emotions of sadness because my brother passed or the guilt because I’m not where I want to be in life or anger because my neighbor is always blasting music. I hope you get this and can answer the question. Not sure how to go about it. Thanks.

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  3 года назад +1

      Stress can affect all of the systems in our body. Stress and fear can cause heart palpitations, so an irregular heartbeat is within the realm of TMS (Too Much Stress). Follow the recommendations in this video. Trust the body.

    • @simontai1
      @simontai1 3 года назад

      Thx for the reply. Strangely I just asked my wife how are the heart palpitations and she replied she hasn't had them for a few weeks after having them daily since 2016. Doctors couldn't find out why and gave her beta-blockers that only help the upper chambers of the heart calm down. I wonder if the distraction caused by the anxiety of Covid might have changed her neural pathways as she works in a hospital.
