In this review, I explain the difference as it relates to my opinion when it comes to different sizing of teleprompters, I explain why Amazon prices are so much lower from your local profession camera shop, and of course what I recommend.

I cannot trust the teleprompters sold in Amazon after having the experience with Neewer X12. Like in your case, the item was sold as new but came used with pretty obvious scratch marks. But this was not the only issue. The material of the cover was not actually opaque and was transmitting some lights from behind the teleprompter, causing a terrible experience when reading the script. I ended up throwing a black cloth on top of the cover to ensure no light pass throught, but it was a dirty and unreliable hack. Ghosting, tinting are another potential issues with cheap brands.
Now I don’t want to purchase anything in that price range, I would like to know recommendations that are suitable for professional studios, considered as industry standard and set my budget around those. Things I am looking for:
1. High quality beamsplitter(manufactured with strict quality control checks)
2. High quality cloth material that does not detoriate over time, does not transmit light
3. Support for ENG or cinema bodies, such as FX6, FX9.
4. Support for iPad
5. Easy to set up every time
Do you have an experience with higher tier brands which you can suggest?
My takeaway is use the 12" if you're referencing notes and doing standard content.
so i'f I have a 10 inch iPad to use is there any use in buying a larger then 10 inch teleprompter
It gives you more space on the sides. Plus if you later upgrade to a screen or something else it is worth having. I bought this new monitor that inverts everything. I use it for day to day things.
