In last 9 years I only used 2 laptops, the Thinkpad T41p and Thinkpad T400s. The last one is still in service. And both of them never disappointed me. Now I am really glad to see what I want next, and also glad I don't not by a Surface Pro yet. Because who needs that if there is a Thinkpad?

It's fantastic how Lenovo presents high bleeding edge technology with a few simple sentences.
I don't agree that Apple's / Foxconn's mass-produced designer gadgets are on the same level with Lenovo's engineered masterpieces, neither in terms of innovation nor by technology or service standards.

The Helix is now listed in Lenovo's latest Personal Systems Reference document where you can see the specifications of the different models (March 2013 Version 434 as of this writing).

There is the Samsung Ativ Smart PC Pro - which on paper has been available since October last year, but I am still unable to buy it in Eastern Europe at all, let alone for a reasonable price.
And now finally there is also the Surface Pro... but actual availability until now has been dismal, even in USA. No telling when I can get my hands on it in Eastern Europe...
Here's to hoping that Lenovo will be available to my neck of the woods soon... it beats the other contenders in specs easily.

Absolutely amazing... I hope and and wish you there is no HW related technical problem behind the delay... Your web states "spring 2013", so I keep my fingers crossed this spring will be very short :+).

I am completely torn between this and the Lenovo Yoga for my next laptop. I will wait for the Haswell versions, but I really hope you guys put the X1 Carbon's keyboard and trackpad in the next Yoga! They are fantastic.

I think I understood your comment but don't see why having the trackpoint buttons built in to the touchpad be a problem because if you don't use the touchpad you can disable it. And i'm positive that Lenovo didn't do it randomly and without thinking therefore its probably just as comfy if not more.

Just a quick question: Did you guys remove the dual rear camera on the released version? On many pictures and including this video the prototype helix looks like it has 2 rear cameras, but on the released version there is only one

So I'm guessing, you named the fans "owl wing blades" because they spin silently like how owl fly silently with their fringed wing feathers? At any rate, I can't wait to see a live demo of this when (not if!) it arrives in the Philippines.

apparently this will be out by the last week of April...! I've been waiting since last year, 3 more weeks of waiting is nothing now. Just hoping that it will really come out in April and no change on the release date again!!

What is the graphics card on it? All and all it seems pretty amazing and while I do want one, I would like to know more about the system, possible customization ect. This seems like a very amazing device and I must say I am very impressed.

Please please tell us what is the color gamut of the Helix display? For years digital artists, designers and photographers like me have been waiting for a good light weight Lenovo machine that has at least full sRGB gamut ... and a tablet mode that can actually be used for creating digital art. We are so tired of waiting and spending time with our macs ...

How many programmable buttons does it have on the bezel? Does it have trackpoint/trackpad on the bezel (see MSI windpad 110w etc)? These can be great for use in pure tablet mode.
Will it have an option for the new specially binned 7W IVB CPUs Intel announced? What effect do they have on the battery life in your testing?

In my opinion this is the most innovative Tablet of the year 2013.
What you might do a little bit better are the hinges and the tablet connection on the dock.
They could have been made out of metal. But this is the only thing i have to say about a device i was waiting for years since i had the idea to buy such a thing.
Keep on improving it to revolutionize the industry

And they all fail on a proper color gamut that a photographer or artist needs on an ultraportable (at least full sRGB is needed to get something professional done without help of an external monitor). Even MBP went full sRGB only now when retina arrived. I don't go around complaining in internet for no reason - I have searched for a long time with no vail. I really hope Lenovo will consider designers and artists more in the future as their potential customers of their business series.
