BEST BRAND I EVER USED ! Using it from my engineering then Masters IT and now in my software Development professional life ,365 Days 24 hours without any problem and many time in worst conditions .
@Zaz3329 this design is for the engineers working in a very dark environment can open the keyboard light very easily - only press lower left corner "fn" and upper right corner "PgUp".
I could argue about some design decisiones like non replaceable battery and glossy screens, but I'm impressed you managed to fit an i7 non-low-voltage on a slim and light machine.

@Zaz3329 And a guy like you who never bought a Thinkpad don't know you can switch FN key and CTRL key directly in a bios. So, a day buy a thinkpad, and come again...
f*** the glossy gorilla glass. And I also don't like the magnetic lash. They certainly shouldn't name it Thinkpad. Maybe it's a Okish Laptop *but* it has nothing to do with the original IBM philosophy.

Here I am in 2020 and to confirm that this machine, for almost 10 years, is still kicking ass.

And a thinkpad hybrid X1 is on the way with two processors, two operating systems and one laptop...

I am disturbed by the placement of the lenovo logo on the lower left of the screen. Removing it would have made the design cleaner and stronger.

Looks great. Now please add a higher res screen, a dock, increase the battery life, and decrease the weight..
Yeah, that's why I love Lenovo, they do look like world conquerors tool :D
Price tag is going to be around $1399, which is awesome!
@Zaz3329 You do realize they do that so people can turn on the think light easily when its to dark to see the keys.
No dock? are you kidding, Lenovo? I'd love to upgrade from my X200, and would love a slim design statement, but the lack of a dock is a deal-killer...
ok, nice work and all.... but the last line really got me laughing! :P
Sounds like it's got some good specs but why does it look like it was designed in the 90's?
if they lowered prices, their sales would be outstanding.
This is a mighty SUPERB thinkpad!!!!
Would be perfect if had:
1)Matte screen
2)1600x900 display
3)Thinner bezel
4)Thunderbolt Port
Now do a Video about the X1 Carbon
The battery life on this unit is pretty crappy without the 2nd battery
Now if Lenovo could just figure out how to get their support website to not take ten hours no load.
I agree, ThinkPad X1 is a very reliable machine.
@iceshiel disturbed. is arbitrary, is subjective. Use Apple if you care about "design", as in, aesthetics. Lenovo is for real computer users.
Nice! :) I'm hoping that the pricetag won't hit the clouds :D
I love my X1.
@morloff
Look up X300 vs Air. Lenovo already blew Apple away.
Or search youtube for X300 videos.

Thumbs up if your watching this on a Lenovo computer.
@goaboi Well that, longer battery life, and a dock.
I am from the future
I am using lenovo phone.
i use it
IBM IS THE BEST PC!!!
You're almost there...almost capitalizing all of your first person personal pronouns. What a day that will be. We'll drink some wine that day.
@petenatandt or ShinyEdgepad ;-)...
put ubuntu or linux mint in it ....! i will buy it ..
the glossy screen made me not want this
just that one feature
ALL THINKPADS MUST BE MATTE SCREEN )":
PWND by engineering awesomeness.. :D Now shut up and take my money!
