- ThinkPad T and X Series are seen as the gold standard among business laptops thanks to their superior design & build quality; award-winning, spill-resistant keyboards; and new hot-swap batteries that deliver up to 17 hours on one charge. Learn More: lnv.gy/lenovo
"We start by listen to people by listening the people who use the X and T-series" - People who really don't listen.
There is clearly room on the palmrest to support both the trackpoint buttons and clickpad. I'm also very sure that Lenovo's Facebook page once asked: "what colour do you want your next laptop to be?" The majority of your responses stated "Carbon Black" or "Matte Black" or "Buisness Black." That thing right there, is gray.
Anything they will say to keep the shareholders happy
A lot of people are complaining about the trackpoint buttons missing. At first I did not comment on it because I never tried it. Just bought a helix from lenovo and returned it the next day. Now I am very confident to tell you all, don't bother even try the new touchpad, without buttons it is AWFUL!
they technically did listen since they brought back the track point buttons
Wait, you listened to the users of the X and T series? Then why is there no 7 row keyboard or TrackPoint buttons...otherwise, I guess aesthetics look great.
Thinkpads still have TrackPoint buttons which hide into the touchpad, but they'r still real buttons. You can press the upper left and right corner of the touchpad.
Zi Cong actually from what I've seen the trackpad is actually one big button. all that matters is where you are touching the trackpad on when the button gets clicked down.
still doing great with an x240 in 2024!
i love the x240 it's the best thing i ever bought
I have a question for you: the x240 is good for play games?
@@martinalejandroortiz8446 It's ok but not so good if the games too graphic demanding
@@oneilmyles I understand, it's fine for most games but not for the most demanding ones, right? Thanks, I was asking because that way I know if the pc is fast, it is obvious that the better it is to play, the better it will be for other things
Was seriously considering this model, but won't buy it because of missing trackpoint buttons.
Yep the "clickpad" was a complete and utter clusterf*** though.
I like the new touchpad which is large but still has trackpoint buttons.
I would like to have the new yoga tablet twice in detachable laptop form and military grade... and done. With a combination of 18 hours of battery life twice I can have a laptop that is 2 computer in one with 2x4 core A9. Why should I carry power bricks? Where are the docks?
since the ThinkPads have benn produced by Lenovo, the build quality and design have been degrading with each iteration. Soon there will be no decent business notebooks to chose from... Sad...
These are barely Thinkpads. No Thinklight? Missing buttons on the keyboard? No physical buttons? RAM soldered to the motherboard?, You know, even if it's more expensive to produce premium parts for professionals, professionals will still pay for it.
Launch a P-xxx series for "those who do", and leave the rest to the hipsters.

"we start by not listening to the people using the x- and t-series.."
Still derping the T420.
Nice!!
Well mine is no longer as fast as on the day I first started it. Sometimes it doesn't even start at all when it was on standby. The fan goes crazy even though heat paste has been changed recently. This device will retire in one month from now.
Hi Nami. Sorry for the trouble. We'd like to clarify, are you referring to slow in booting or also when doing some tasks? How are you trying to power on the device from sleep mode? About the fan issue, are you referring being loud? Are you getting this fan noise as soon as you power on the laptop? Are there any changes or updates prior to these issues? Ash_Lenovo
@@Lenovo oh wow. I did not expect to get an answer. I could imagine the slowdown being due to the higher load current software puts on the system. The heat issue developed gradually. The case is free from dust and the OS was installed recently. Still even having a browser opened makes the fan go with at least half speed. The standby issue is the is the worst, because it makes the PC unreliable. At some random times, there would be no signal from the PC of any sort when I press the power button. Not even the LEDs would go on. The reset pin didn't help as well only removing all batteries, including the internal one, solved the issue. Deactivating them in the BIOS was NOT enough. Sometimes I even had to remove the CMOS battery. For that reason I removed the internal battery permanently. That makes hard resets easier with the swappable external battery 😅
@@Lenovo I can't recall a certain update to have caused this. Standby was problematic for a longer time throughout several installs of Win10. Sometimes the screen would simply "stay black" and I would need the fully restart the machine. Last summer, while I was finalizing a paper I had to send in, the problem described above suddenly happened. After that, for some reason the docking station did no longer work. The screen connection flickers and all USB ports go on and off in regular intervals. Something major must have broken ...
Thanks for sharing those details. Does the device can still power on? If yes, could you try to go to advanced power settings and change the PCI Express setting to off? Go to Power & Sleep Setting > Additional power settings (under Related setting on RHS) > Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings > PCI Express > Disable both sub-options. Also, does the device originally came in with Windos 10 as its operating system? Let us know how it goes. Ash_Lenovo
Hi nami! Have you tried the steps that we provided? Rai_Lenovo
