That's quite similar to how rusty mine was before I started restoring it. Yes I whole heartedly agree with you that its a lot of work but I'm fortunate I've got the space to bare shell it and repair it properly in my own time. It's also been a great learning tool and an opportunity to learn some new skills. 🙂 Keep the awesome videos coming!
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the login password. I love any help you can offer me.
@Kamari Terrell Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and im trying it out atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Is it possible for an MX5 to live forever if it's driven year round in the UK or does all the undersealing etc only serve to delay the inevitable with these cars? How about if it's all done from when the car's new as well?
Like the vids. Ash is a funny kid. Would like to know what zinc primer you use.? Keep on meaning to start sorting my mx5 out but house keeps on getting in the way. Keep up the hard work lads.
Still working out ways to get mine to you ASAP, every time I look at it something else goes wrong, Plus the girlfriend is keen to go to the Gudetama cafe that’s open just under a hour away!
Could you ballpark how much the welding on the blue one would cost? Understand that it's not the full extent and might find more etc but just the stuff that's visible in here?
If you look on facebook.com/roadsterrestoration you can get a feel for how much more rust lurks behind the outer panels and how much work is involved in rectifying it all
@@rob_evans Yeah I get that there is likely much more beneath the surface, I was just curious as to the cost for what was visible. I have a rusty MK1 that's nowhere near this bad, just some bubbles on one sill. I expect there will be more inside but nothing else visible.
The MK3 Audio issues are almost definitely due to the amp. The machine gun sound is what happens before the amp completely dies. It's almost never the speakers :) There is a shop in Scotland specialised in repairing the BOSE amps, a well known weak point of the sound system on Mazdas - boserepairexperts.eu/ I suggest you give them a ring before you spend too much time trying to track down the problem.
The problem is, it's the shells that are worth the money these days, and the reality is there just aren't any good shells available that aren't complete cars
Hahaha! This is the limit... This much rust... 20/20hindsight there. Mine was inner and outer sils, both rear arches, front chassis rails, complete engine tear down. I saved one you wouldn't even give to the breakers yard!!! Ignorance is bliss!

Lots of Rusty mx5,s in the UK, sad
I had an MX5 years ago, I would love to own another again but this completely puts me off 😭
Just do your research and check it carefully, or buy one from us ;-)
Do love the blue ones .
it's certainly a colour we have grown to love as time has gone on

Thanks, we will look into that
mines far worse lmao . nothing a few days and a few old filing cabinets cant fix
Very true, it all comes down to how much someone is willing to pay to repair.
Liking the horror movie lighting effects at 8.50. 😊
Sad 😭
We agree
That’s ridiculous :o
Reshell it
