Hows the weather up there? Y'all getting new lakes on a daily basis like we are down here in oklahoma?
Westen Champlin hey, a buddy of mine has a ford fire truck from the 1970s if you want to buy it from him
Will you be selling the truck when finished?
@@sinformant If that aint the truth its been raining like crazy.
@@joshuahixon1425 i dont think so.
Never in my life have I seen engines removed with such finesse and precision....lol
As graceful as a bear driving an 18 wheeler
LMAO
They make it look so easy even know both me and my dad have degrees in automotive and are working on a degree for diesels it took us almost a year
just yank it and hope for the best!!!
Farmers in general🤣 who cares if it's easy on the eyes aslong as it work
I used to work for a company that had several 6.0L Ford's, one 2008 6.4L and a couple 6.7L trucks. The 6.0's broke down on a regular basis and the 6.7's had issues also. The F250 with the 6.4 was the most reliable truck in the fleet. It had almost 300k miles on it when I left the company and still running strong. It also had an engine mounted generator and would run for several hours at a time. Sometimes it would stay at a high idle for 24 hours while using it for the testing we did. It had way more hours than a truck that would 300k miles. It must have been a unicorn.
Must have been, engines are like individuals, they are made slightly differently than the one before
This is my favorite automotive channel. No joke.
So thats how you fix a ford!
A 6.4 atleast
Yeah, if you have one that someone tried to boost the power to without bullet proofing first.

I know this is an old video but I still see plenty of examples in your newer ones too, I absolutely love the energy you put out there. Super positive, a big motivation especially when it come to working on cars 😂
These are exactly the kinda guys I like working with.
These are exactly the kinda guys I’d like to help just for the experience.
that f700 has a perfect amount of space to work on. I wish all trucks were like that.
Yessir, please keep us updated on the progress. Thanks for sharing and have a safe holiday weekend. God Bless. From Arkansas
Yeah a little trick for the forklift, at the end of the forks drill two big holes (One hole in each prong) and get a bolt with two nuts and tighten the two nuts together to make the bolt protrude about 3 inch on the top side it stops it from slipping off and causing injuries to others and gives you more pulling force since you don't have to worry about it slipping off and you can use it as regular forklift afterwards with the bolts removed
I've got a Cummins 6.7 in my 2009 Ford F-350...it was done by Optimum Diesel in Greeneville, TN. Gino (the owner) and Clay are awesome and did a fantastic job. The truck is a beast and turned out better than I hoped for!!
Have the same truck looking to do the same. Would u mind sharing how much it set you back?
Awesome swap can’t wait to see the final product. Y’all do awesome rebuilds!
Love the gentle disconnects of any missed lines, wires, etc😆😆😆

Nice. Glad to se the exchange taking place. Looking forward to the completed swap.
6:21 "That 6.4 life!" Thanks for making my day!
Been waiting for this! BTW...on our forklift, we drilled a hole and installed a 2 inch ball on one fork to move trailers with. It also comes in handy to prevent such oopsies as you had pulling the powerstroke.
Robert Schneider good idea
I was thinking the same thing, works great
Just use a heavy duty c-clamp. Removable and adjustable.😊
Robert Schneider ooopsies there darn near 2 accidents at the same time, did you see his brothers look when it fell ! Just kidding around but your correct on the trailer ball suggestion !
@@davekimbler2308 those accidents always come in twos. First you say it, then you do it😉💩
Been waiting for the beginning of the Fummins project and now the project is in motion, loved the video and love watching you do everything that you do out there.
Weston you got a lot done in this video! I am looking forward to the next video! Thanks for the great content!
They might not even take that 6.4 at the scrap yard. Awesome job keep up the good work! Cant wait to see the reveal.
Evan Turner rebuild the 6.4 and it makes 3x the power and torque tho
A great way to start my Memorial Day weekend! God Bless you brother!
Vyper 👍👍👍

When Dom got himself in that location yet he forgot the tool to take the bolt out that was pretty funny.
Can’t wait to see and hear the finished product!!
8:52, a little shot of Cosby in a can always gets her going. Lol minty!
Oh Jeeze who let ol pegs fans in here?
Do yourself a favor and reseal that engine while it’s out. Tapper cover gasket, rear main, front main, crank case gasket and killer dowel pin. You’ll thank yourself in the long run.
THat was the plan lot better to do it while its on the ground!
@@WestenChamplin make a video of it pls.
I got that problem, got a gah damn rear main seal leak. These older chevys have that problem
yup - ALWAYS change all the seals you can once that motor is sitting out in open space where clearance isn't your excuse to do something important.
Bro, i watch a lot of youtubers and i gotta say your one of the funniest and spot on! Gotta get you more subscribers. Keep up the good work
You two big guys work like two clydesdales in beast mode, nice work.
I’m glad this channel popped into my recommended. Finally RUclipss algorithm finds me new videos
I’ve been waiting on this video! Western you made my Memorial Day start off right😎 appreciate you brother😆
One of my favorite build you done. Can't wait to hear that kitten purr with the Cummins installed
Gotta love them old style engines. She purrrs like a champ. And you got a decent ford to match it to.
First lets all say Happy Birthday to Westen's Mom.....Without her we would not be watching Westen's Videos. Thanks for the Video.... I love how you think. More Power, for way less money. Also if nothing else, a big old C clamp would keep that chain on the forks. Be safe so you can keep making Videos. Regards.
😃🤣😙 Your the Bomb!! Love from Westen's mom!!!
🎼🎻🎸🎤Just a good ol boys. Never meaning no harm. Took a cummins from a Ford to swap a 6.4 to give a F350 some charm. 🎙Uh thank you. Thank you very much.
I love this comment! Got me a new song to sing
@@WestenChamplin you got a new sub here brother.
Gov spring, fuel screw and some bigger injectors will get er to chooch. Think you got yourself a 215 hp at the moment. These mods will get er to about 250-275.
Isn't it two good? Love it tho
@@bladenrexroth2555 In my case, swapped one into a 1993 chevy 2500 with the C6P HD code. Was not too hard, since both the dodge pickup and chevy used the same manual tranny (different bell housing). Yes, your mods would get more power, but I just used propane injection and a slightly larger turbo. I wanted the power, but didn't want the stack smoke that your mods would cause. More fuel into a diesel ALWAYS MEANS BIGGER TURBO TO PUSH MORE AIR. DIESEL NEEDS AIR TO BURN THE FUEL!
Any men who tuck in his t shirt deserve all my respect.
👍 Good job guys!!
Yes!!!!!! Been looking forward to this build!!! Excellent video!
Found your channel a few months ago. I laughed so much then because this is exactly how me and my childhood buddy work together. I sent him a link to one of your videos. He was suddenly killed in a house fire a few weeks ago. He was 24, and left behind his young wife.
I came back to watch this and it's bitter sweet because I will never do another project like this with him. Miss you Ethan.
2 Good ole boys doin what it takes. Great show keep it up.
That's so Awesome!
Once you get that motor and Trans cleaned, freshened and installed, you will have quadrupled the value of that C(ummins)-350.
Man that engine sounded and looked fantastic on the inside for such an old truck. This is gonna be sweet when you get her running again! Looking forward to more vids
Man that's an awesome build so far. Can't wait for the first start up
Keeping 12 Valve Cummins on the road. That gets a like from me!
Great Work & Great video once again Bud!! Keep the videos 'cummin' (Ya see what I did there LoL). Love watching you & Dom do these pickup builds & repairs!!
Great job so far looking forward to what you do to the engine!

Great video, Ole BOB IS HOOKED ON METH. That new oli burner will finally make that Ford a good truck.
Couldn't help not replying...baught an old 1995 Dodge 12 valve seven years ago from a widow lady . Absolutely love that old truck with old Cummins.. Will buy a newer truck but will always keep the Cummins
Thoroughly enjoyed watching you guys! Keep up the good work.
I’m excited for you to start this project. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. I’m putting the final touches on my truck. I have a 2008 f550
With a 99 24 valve Cummins and a manual transmission. In hindsight I wish I would’ve found a 12 valve p pump like you have

I wanted to keep my 92 F350 simple and rebuild the 5.8 thats in it. A cummins swap always sounded fantastic but i didnt want to do all of that, until i started watching your videos.
Man i love ur videos and i like u guys personality. And happy late birthday to ur mom.
I've had this exact idea for awhile. Gunna be one badass truck. Keep up the good work.
I'm a illegal immigrant from central America i love these guys because we have so much in common. Our ingenuity we can make thinga work no matter what etc
In most states this kind of swap isnt even legal but its great to see you doing it. Bob wasnt ready but you convinced him.

Western Champlin is to America as Top Gear is to the UK. Keep 'em rolling!
Excited to see this coming together!! 💪🏽💪🏽
It’s going to be like brand new!!! Can’t wait for the next video my favorite channel!
If you drill a hole at the end of your fork on the bobcat you can bolt on a truck ball hitch to pull trailers and it will hold the chain on when you use it pick stuff up
Had one just like that and someone stole the forks. I need fix these new forks up.
@@WestenChamplin just seen the chain slipping off when you were pulling motor so thought I would try to help.

I have a 94 7.3 extended cab 4 wheel drive F250. Not a powerstroke because it has an automatic transmission. Awesome truck either way. 21 MPG with no computer. I have a 99 F350 dually crew cab 4 by 4. 7 3 diesel of course. See this 2010-2011 style truck when the coming, has made me want that a newer truck. LOL I love a 12 valve Cummins. Simple, dependable, amazing engine. Your videos are addicting. I live way over in Virginia. You all are some hard-working guys. And you do amazing work. Keep making great videos. Good job Westen can't wait for part 2 buddy
That block will make a great anchor just the way it was meant to be!
A neighbor in Delaware once used an old tractor for his boat mooring, laughing hard here
Who needs a cherry picker when you have a forklift
You need a forklift when a cherry picker isn't strong enough lol
Who needs a forklift when you have a cherry picker?
I worked on a dairy farm, we used an old backhoe
I have a wrecker with jerr dan wrecker box that has twin ramsey winches and its boom that extends to like 20ft out and pos can still lift 7k fully extended its the best thing I ever found to buy on facebook.
I think the true hero here is Bobs battery.
Can’t wait to see it installed and running
Fords have the nicest interiors. That P pump Cummins will make a very good power plant for the Ford. Cummins have such a great torque curve they are fun to drive. I put a VE 12 valve Cummins in an 85 F250 and used a ZF 5 spd tranny. I did this conversion back in 1999 back before conversions became popular. The F250 had a 460 but after the conversion I doubled the fuel mileage. I can now drive 600 miles without stopping for fuel. At that time the only part I could purchase was the transmission adapter. Every thing else was fabricated. I did use a radiator and air charge cooler out of a 93 Dodge. I am still using that old Ford. But I am looking for a Ford Superduty to re transplant that engine.
Very nice.
Is the old truck rusted out? If not, I'd set about upgrading the Cummins already in it.
@@cryinglaughter6792 This was a refugee from a wrecking yard back in 94 it had been totaled. So I will find a superduty someday.
@@cryinglaughter6792 Why upgrade? Any Cummins upgrade from what he already has would mean a computer controlled engine, and would get worse fuel mileage than the 12 valve! Sure, a 24 valve has more power...but it's not worth the fuel mileage. My dad had a 12 valve that was getting 28MPG on the interstate unloaded, and his 2005 24 valve gets 18.5 MPG... I'd prefer the fuel mileage, since the 12 valve has enough torque to grenade any Chrysler/Dodge/Ford Automatic hooked to it under full torque conditions pulling a gooseneck with a bulldozer on it's back
They let you guys put Diesel engines in gas vehicles where you live?
Bob is a tough machine!
Can’t wait to see this completed!!!!!!!
LOVE THIS BUILD💪💪💪 I’ve always love the way them fords look!
Man I had to stop doing yard work to watch your video. I been waiting for this one
I’ve been waiting patiently
First video I’ve seen of yours and I’m hooked man. Love it
Another sweet build by a great dude on RUclips, Can't wait for the next part Westen, I am pumped to hear that baby purr
THanks bud!I know ive been wanting to be able to do this for years!
I remember my 96 Dodge had a Cummins in it. On the injector pump, I took the cover off & adjusted [advanced] the pump & could get another 100 miles out of a tank of fuel, which put it up to 700 miles per tank. I went to a 2000 F-250 with a stroker & wish I would have just bought new doors, fenders & lower rear cab corners & kept my Dodge. Try getting 23 mpg with a PowerStroke, You can't... Cool video....
Great swap cant wait to hear that cummins in the ford
Excited! Learning alot cant wait for next vid
Watching you guys, y'all get on like me and my late buddy Mike (Twink) Golden, RIP. It was good times!
