So tripltek is working on the EVO issue and will get firmware to me to test. I’ll update you all on that progress
Thanks Ken. I need a screen compatible with EVO 1.....Would you consider testing with your EVO 1 please, if they get the firmware to play nice with Autel ? I love big nits!
Thanks for the review. We all need to support these companies that get our experience better and puss DJI and others to offer better products and customer support
UPDATE
Had a conversation through IG messenger with them, the issue with autel explorer is with the Google play protect. Just have to disable it, autel knows and hopefully it will get addressed in a future app update. They were amazingly fast, responsive and honest with my questions, so much so I placed my order!
So they just put up an Evo 2 video 15 minutes ago on their IG page flying with it and it didn't show any lag, does this mean they fixed it with an update? Cause their IG post is painfully short on information other than claiming it works with the evo2.
Stop spending my money! I am saving it for the 200 DJI releases this month! 😂

Based on your review and others I purchased once today. It's not on Amazon right now and Tripltek says it will be back on Amazon soon depending on when Amazon gets it worked out on their end. I live in Arizona and the Sun kills the display on every tablet I use. This will sit just fine in my Dobo Recommended Lufthor Mavic Air 2 mount! thanks for what you do!

Say, I want to say that the Tripletek 7” tablet works GREAT the Autel EVO2. I will say at first I had a few problems. But after a firmware update and purchasing a new good connection cable all of the problems where solved. No more app crashes it works very well with a T mobile data connection. And I will say thy have one of the best costumer service that I’ve had to deal with in along time, the are out to please. I had no problems flying my Mavic2 with this tablet what so ever. And Tripltek is working hard to better this tablet. The good thing you can do with tablet it is a phone. The only thing I did to this tablet was removed the screen protector cause I like to use a stylus when working on any tablet or phone but that is just me.
Typically the price of ruggedized daylight viewable industrial tablets is well above $1K. So the price of this one shocked me.
Perhaps version 2 will have 1080p and HDMI.
The res on the screen attributes to good battery which is fine I think V2 will have hdmi. I'm working with them on this now

HUGE drawback is the absurdly high price. Seriously isn't there a plain old tablet that is BRIGHT, or one we can easily hack to be brighter??
Nice one DB. The new Note 10+ with OLED screen has 1342 nit brightness, almost as big too, but more money.
The Note 10+ has 1300nits peak. It will not keep that brightness for more than a minute or two, the working brightness will be under 600nits
This is a rebranded tablet. I have the same one by xenarc {P67}. Biggest drawback is that usb-c out will not work with an HDMI adapter. android version is kinda old. The power pads on the back dont work (they are not connected to anything inside). GPS is very weak. Had to send my first one back because it wouldn't work at all. Skydio controller doesn't recognize this either. Basically we need this screen, with the LTA and micro sd capability and with a new version processor and android. Still better than the CS.
you may need to take a look at the Tripltek because it has 6G Ram and 128GB ROM with octa core processor, the one you are talking about has 3G RAM and 32ROM with Quadcore processor , big differences.
Turn off play protect and you should have no issues with using it with the Autel Evo

Great content! I got the tripltek 8gb pro a day ago from Amazon we’ll see how it works out. I figured $100.00 difference wasn’t worth compromising maximum performance and features in my P4PV2 drone and part 107 commercial use.

I fly the DJI Mavic Air 2 and the Autel Evo 2. I wanted it to work with both to justify the purchase so we will see what happens. Good review.

I was dying when you said in that one video "Sully, you hit that tree". Im thinking FPV must be pretty damn hard if the best pilot ever (commercial and military) crashes it but can land a giant plane on the hudson River with no engine power. Wow. Completely amazing and can't wait for more content. Super cool you hook up with Billy kyle from (Billy from Philly lol) and Mikey aka Philly dronelife is a character, always puts me in a good mood when watching his sillyness too.

Howdy Ken, Dang, that is one bright screen. Yes, it is a bit beefy, but one thing it will hold up to abuse in the long run. I sure hope the company can correct the Altel problem, but it looks like a great way to go for DJI products. I agree; it would be nice having an HDMI output. Thank you.

Hi Ken, great video. Glad I came across this. So it's been 5 months, do you still recommend this tablet? I'm looking to buy a larger tablet that can be used on a few drones, unlike the dji smart controller. PS, does this tablet charge off the controller, if so can it be disabled? I hate how my note 9 drains the charger. There's no way to disabled it like my iPhone 7 =/
I'm looking for something that will fit my present controllers, is bright enough to see and wont overheat in direct summer sunlight and works with the DJI apps and Autel Explorer. My S8 batteries are getting destroyed by the high charge/discharge when using apps that charge the phone while discharging. Lipo batteries do not like being charged when warm, it's a big no no and replacing the battery in a S8 is a bit of a project, the battery and back are cell phone taped. On top of that I can't see the screen from the get go on a sunny day, I have to get under a tree or use one of those very restrictive hoods. I have also had the phone overheat, shut off charging and dim so low that you can't see anything which ends the flight.

What were the specs on the internal battery? If my crystalsky fails in the field my backup is a Xiaomi Mi Pad 3 tablet, wouldn't use anything else with my i2 or mp2, that's if I had to. Regards Tony in Australia
When you conect android tablet did you chose *charging onley* funkcion?Do not choose data transfer bu chargin onley and that will fix your problem.

Man, I wish I had saw your take on thisTablet before I purchased this tablet. I had all the problems that you mentioned in this video regarding the use of a Autel EVO2 but I did find out if you disable your WiFi and pull out the SIM card it seems to work smoothly so far but I’m still a little scared to try it up in the air. And yes the last firmware update in the tablet is dated 2018.
My whole plan is to put my Mavic2 and Autel all on one device. The only thing that gets me is there excuse that because it is a Military tablet is the reason why the firmware is so out dated????. The problem with Autel EVO controller charging the tablet is a Autel issue as you described. But thank you for making feel that I’m not crazy. I will be looking for a firmware update for this device or a fix and please post if you find out anything.
I'm getting the same charging issues with the mavic zoom remote charging the tablet. Apparently its a DJI issue with android devices in general, and its driving people nuts. I guess Autel is doing it too
@@datamike00 Yes Autel has the same issue. Compatibility is the problem with this Tablet. Right now Tripltek is offering a cable that will slow down the charging from your controller to the tablet. I'm waiting on the mail to deliver mine but I will post my findings.

I'm thinking about picking up the tripletek tablet for my mavic air. My galaxy s9+ is a little smaller than I'd like and doesn't fit the controller in the speck case, doesn't have the brightness or battery life I'd want. I cannot locate the tripletek mount for the dji mavic air controller though. Can you send me the link for that?

I can't seem to find the warranty info anywhere.. not on their website.. not on the internet. Does your docs say what the warranty is? Mine will be here monday and I'm slapping myself for spending that much money and not knowing if it has a warranty. DOH!

I heard him say android version 8.1 which is the non pro version.
I just bought the android 9 pro version, we’ll see how it goes once hooked up to my P4P controller.

As far as I know the 'controller charges tablet' is not specific with this tablet, it's a common android problem 😝
It happens with all Android tablets. I know, I tried using my Evo II controller with 3 different android tablets and all have the same problem. They drain your controller.

@600 bucks for a 7 inch tablet it’s not very cost effective compared to the other options available on the market for half the price and a 20 dollar sunshade, I’ll stick with the 8th Gen iPad and sunshade.
For commercial apps where people don't have time for that shit yeah it's plenty cost effective. But that's the difference between someone making money with their drone and a hobbyist
