Love mine! I went from the 7 to the 8 and there's really nothing else I'd rather be using. I have to use the SC for my M2P only because I got it as a bundle. Highly recommended! Great review,
Thank you for suggesting this. I am now loving my tablet from Tripltek!
Thanks for this great review! Looks and sounds like an awesome product.
I hope they will also make a 5 inch version.
Hello! I acquired the 7 "PRO and I am delighted with it. It is the best option to enjoy the flight of my Mini 2. Two weeks ago I ordered the new 8" PRO since in my opinion this new version solves the weak points from the previous version. It is really amazing. Thank you for this complete review! Greetings from Granada, Spain 👋
I just got my Tripltek 8" pro for my Autel Evo II Pro and I love it. I use my Sky Fire Aerial tablet mount on my Autel controller. And, since you asked, I'm happy with my Autel Evo II pro. Autel has regularly improved with firmware updates; I would like a few more improvements, which Autel says they're working on.
I'd put the cost of it towards another drone before buying that tablet , I know they're good but a bit pricey for me
you can buy a flagship tablet and a weather proof case for less than this tablet.
And then you'd have two drones without a good monitor. ;-)
750 quid. Really !!!!
@@tintersniffer9929 Games-Workshop prices!!!
@@theantiantichrist You need to buy the rugged version of any "flagship" or as soon as the sun comes out the screen goes completely dark like my useless S20 which says its 1200 nits but goes black in one minute under the sun. Marketing vs reality for the flagship phones etc
Thanks 51 Drones for the recommendation: used it for a quick test flight yesterday and I think this will be a keeper. We've had multiple days of continuous rain the last few days, predicted to go through to Monday at least. 😞
I have an Air 2S and preferred using an iPad rather than my phone for multiple reasons: a larger screen, a dedicated device, no distracting alerts during a flight. I'd been looking to upgrade my base iPad (5th gen) with something newer because mine just couldn't keep up. However, another iPad or other standard tablet wouldn't solve the display brightness issue.
Yes, this is expensive! As some have said, the cost of another drone. However, I don't need another drone; I need a way to make my current flights safer, less stressful, and more enjoyable. In my opinion, the value is there in having a dedicated device with a screen that can be used in strong daylight.
Now, if only the weather will break so I can try longer flights in full sun.
Great review Russ and thanks !!! Have not flown in about two and a half years and am one of your original subscribers. Getting ready to get back into it again and have an Autel Evo Pro 6k, that has to be un-packaged and put to good use.
This would be a perfect fit for that set up, since I am an old timer with old eyes and a phone is useless for me.....lol!
I do have the Crystal Sky Ultra Bright but could put it on Ebay and use the proceeds towards the Tripletek.
Keep up the great work and many blessings !!
Awesome!
Thank you yet again! I get mine tomorrow. Ordered directly from them though for quicker delivery. Should be a nice addition to my drone kit.
Yeah. From what I've read I'm sure you'll love it. Drop a note on your experience with it sometime.
For myself and my MA2, I only have a Samsung S9+ for display(not sure it's nit value), so I can't even imagine a 1,200 nit display!
Enjoy!
Tripltek has taken good care of me. I had a defective sim/mem tray that was not working right. It took some effort, but all good. And, I love the product. This is PERFECT for somebody needing to fly in bright conditions.
Thank you for giving us a perspective on how great this product can be. I just bought my mavic 3 and I am using my Ipad mini and I have had that for the last 4 years. I am 95 percent sold on this device. Btw, this was the best review on this product. I hope they gave that to you to keep.👊💪
My only drone, DJI Air 2 came with the Smart Controller from DJI, so I am all set. I love the smart controller's portability and function. Leave my phone free for many other important tasks.
Just received my tripltek 8 Pro in the Netherlands today. Nothing to add, great device!
I'm flying with a Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, and cannot wait to get the Tripletek 8! Thanks for yet another great video!
Good to know! It's on my list. Mahalo
I have Mavic 2 Pro and Mavic Mini 2. I use the Smart controller for both. If I am going hiking/biking, I leave the 2 Pro home and switch to an old iPhone 10 to fly the Mini (mini controller/iPhone is much more compact and lighter than smart controller…)! Always appreciate your content and very well done videos! Fun and enjoyable to watch! Thanks Russ!
I like your plan!
Your video presentations are the best! Request:
I am having difficulty, obviously, since we don't know all the facts yet, in comparing the Mavic 3 with the Autel EVO 2 Pro 6K. The more I see about the EVO, the more I like it, especially the way they handle geofencing. Please, once the initial evaluation and tutorial videos are made, make one comparing the M3 to the Evo. Hopefully, you are, or soon will be in the process of producing the initial ones so you can post them the same day that the drone appears on the market.
Just got my Tripltek 8" Pro tablet today. Excellent bit of kit. I am trying the strap method of securing to the DJI controller. This works well although it is a bit tricky getting the controller antenna under the strap. A bit of practice may help. I certainly am impressed with the screen and how much easier it makes seeing and using the Fly app.
I just ordered, do I need order separate bracket or strap for my drone ( mavic3 ) ?
I just received my Tripltek 8 inch and I am in absolute love with it!
Good to hear!
I went from an iPad 9.7" to the Tripltek 8" Pro. Huge difference. I have it mounted to a Mavmount with a Fendtek Universal Tablet mount on my Mavic 2 Pro. This mount has a wide mounting surface that holds the display secured.
Russ once again another great review.. I got the 7inch pro and it is great but a bit bulky. The investment I have with all the drones I have I think this is a wise choice except for my typhoon h . It will work well with the DJI products and my Evo line. Thanks again for the review
Thank you for the info
I use the Feelworld monitor attached using the Lifthor bracket to my smart controller, it copes with very bright sunlight, and even better still, if you add a shade to it and the smart controller.
My SC has view and flight info, monitor has only view…..a neck strap is recommended.
I fly M2Z and M mini 2, the mini now working with SC is great, and works with the DJI goggles via Hdmi, and there is both Hdmi in and out on the Feelworld if you want to keep it attached to the SC.
My enjoyment of flying the drones increased enormously once I stopped using phones and tables that can’t handle bright sunny weather.
Well Informative Video , As Usual , Thank You .
I use the Tripletek 7" pro and I got a special holder from Tripletek for it. I always like your videos. Good Job!!!
I was wondering, I just recently purchased the Tripltek 7" Pro used, I like it, what was the special holder did you order? Thanks
Great review of the Tripltek 8" Pro tablet.I use the DJI Smart Controller V1 with my Mavic Air 2S Mini 2 and the DJI Crystal Sky 7.85" High Brightness tablet with my Mavic Pro Platinum and my Autel EVO II 8K.
Thanks Russ! Great video.
This is a nice upgrade to Tripltek, so many owners of the first generation model complained about weight and bulk of the tablet. A little pricey, but if do a lot of flying bright sunset light, it might be worth it. But if you only fly DJI drones, it might be better to just get the smartcontroller, or wait for the smartcontroller 2.Great video Russ.
Thanks man!
do the smart controller work with the Mavic air 2s yet.
Well done 51, ty 4 sharing
Well worth it, based on the specs. I've been looking for a Droid tablet for Ham radio use. The fact that I could use this for both makes it very tempting.
Ya, multi-use is what I also look for in expensive purchases.
I'm curious how are you using it along with HAM radio?
With my Air 2S, I've been using my iPad Pro 10.5" as a monitor, attaching it to the controller with the bracket which DJI sells. That bracket barely holds an iPad of this size, but it does work.
I am typing this one on my new M1 IPad. My old iPad Pro got placed into service a few years back for only drone use. I set it up strictly as a drone device. I reset it. Then as a new device with no email accounts, no ties to texting or other interruptions. I love the 10.2 screen which is much better for me than a phone screen. You are so right about brightness. I would love to have 1200 nits of brightness. It has never overheated in even when my body is completely uncomfortable. Battery life has become an issue. So the device will go back to Apple. Nice video.
I thought the 2021 ipad pro with the M1 chip has 1600 nit screen?
@@novicefpv874 I am using my old IPad
Pro. My new one is used extensively for music production.
Looks like a great option if I didn't already have a tablet and an Android phone. It is hard to justify the cost, and even the smart controller for that matter in my opinion. I would love to hear if you find any more affordable options in the future that offer similar benefits. Thanks for the review!
Your camera quality is so good! Like starting at the very beginning at 0:00 the video looks awesome. Idk what camera you have but great investment 100%
Sony A7C. Thanks!
I use the original Smart Controller with my DJI Air 2S and my DJI Mini 2 drones. I had been getting some lagging video back to the controller UNTIL I changed my SD Card in the Smart Controller to the fastest V90 type of SD Cards that can support up to 285 mb/second. I bought other cards up to 120mb/s and they still lagged but not the fastest ones. If I record the screen I get a very occasional lag but nothing that distracts me at all. I like the fact that the Tripltek 8 is a multiuse device but I don't like having to carry more stuff in my bag as opposed the the SC. Love to know how the new SC with Mavic 3 compares to old one. Love to see you do that comparison!
DJI Smart Controller with Mavic 2 Pro. Although it's clever, I prefer having a device specific to it's intended task, as opposed to being multifunctional. Great product review, Russ.
Great video as always. I have three, Samsung Tab A 10.4 (Free from work), Lenovo FHD 8 ($85), and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 ($190). All units suffer from nits envy. I always reach for the Redmi on sunny days because it has close to 500 nits brightness. After watching your video, I am thinking about selling all and buying this tablet.
I have a Mavic Air2 and I use the Smart Controller. As much as I find the Android operating system to be cludgy, I do like its brightness over the iPad mini that I used to use. Now I need to upgrade to the Mavic Air 2s.
Great review, Russ. Thanks!
I use a 10 inch galaxy tab S5e LTE and works great with it's own data. I do love the ruggedness and brightness of this 8 inch tablet though.
I had ipad mini 6 and been using it without problem at all
You have convinced me! I just placed an order for one and the tablet mount you recommended. It will make a beautiful display for my new Mavic 3 when I get it, since the only way you can get the Smart Controller II is with the outrageously expensive option, which I do not need. Very nice review.
There are STL files you can get off Tripltek to 3D print a better holder ….
Unless you are in the know that the rest of us aren't yet, the final pricing has not been announced, nor the exact features, nor other needed facts to make a final decision so I will wait a week or so before doing anything...
@@vonheise The final price on Amazon yesterday was $860.50.
@@MicoGhostTheOldCodger I was not clear, I was referring to the final pricing of the Mavic 3. I would want the Cine version unless it is priced the way some seem to think it will be, in which case I would get the basic version and the Tripltec 8 for the controller. I will have to compare price differences, I assume next week
I fly with my iPad pro 11". Tripltek may be an option in the future but for now I'll stick with my iPad. I live in the south so it's not hard to find a shade tree to stay out of the sunlight. Anyway keep up the good work. I look forward to seeing your next video. This is my favorite channel.

I have been using my Galaxy Z Fold 3 the past month with my DJI Air 2s. I have had a great experience with it so far, zero issues with sunlight and heat so far. Z Fold 3 is a perfect option for drone video.
I've been using my Z-Fold 3 with my Mavic 3 and I agree, it works great
I exclusively use the 5 “ and 7” HD CrystalSky monitors with my P3P, Mavic Pro, and Inspire 2 kits. No complaints about brightness or reliability.
I love my 7” Crystal Sky also. The only sad part is that I can’t use it for work because Dronedeploy won’t accept it. No idea why. Just is what it is. One of these days I’ll ask!
I currently use my iPhone 12 Pro. I Was going to get the current smart controller when I got my air 2 s in April but I figured a new one would be out this year and waiting to hear details on that. Just a few more weeks hopefully 🙏. But that tablet definitely looks like a good option. I’ll have to keep that in mind and compare it to the new smart controller when we get details.
Smart controller is the go.
Bit dear ,but saves having a seperate device just as a slave screen.
Great video as always mate 🙏💯
I love the Smart Controller as well, but I do find it to be underpowered. Particularly when adding automation apps.
@@tonysimek I didn’t even know you could add apps to the SC.
@@markkempton4579 You sure can. See RUclips. Several different methods. I use the Google Installer mentioned in a few, then can install from Google Play.

Good review Russ
Thanks and good informative video. I fly with my iPhone 11 and it works good. My wife has an iPad and it’s really nice to have that big screen, however it froze a couple times so I stopped using they. Some day I would like to get like an iPad mini or smart controller for that bigger screen. This tripletek looks really nice. Definitely keep this on my mind too.
I mostly use the Smart Controller but am thinking of adding an Autel Lite+ when I’m satisfied that it’s good. So the Tripltek might be the way to go.
Great info as always, so much so that I just purchase one, should be here by Wensday. Thank Russ. I've been using a Galaxy Tab A7.
I hope you enjoy it, and if you don’t, returns are easy these days!
@@51Drones I know I will enjoy it, have 2 other tablets & both are hard to see in the bright sun here in TX plus old eyes don't help.
I currently fly with the Samsung S21 and the brightness is good but I use an iPhone X as a backup but it gets way too hot and I loose the screen.
So the Tripltek will be my next buy. Thanks Russ for all you do for the drone community. Peace.
Is the S21 not rated to 1500 nits (maybe 1300 I can’t recall)?
Hi, Great video! In fact I enjoy them all, keep up the great work. Just ordered the M3, and would like to order the tripltek 8 next. Talked to Verizon about adding a sim card and they couldn't tell me for sure until We get the tablet and bring it by. Did you add a sim to yours (if so which carrier) or do you connect to a phone thru blue tooth? Thanks in advance!
I use a Samsung Note 20 Ultra, a sunshade, a wide brim dark hat plus some +3 reading glasses to magnify the screen. All works great.
It's a fantastic tablet (and a great review btw thanks so much) with one major flaw. 99% of use is in Landscape mode, yet both stereo speakers are placed on the right hand side. Hopefully the next model will have left and right stereo speakers
Excellent video. Thanks
Great info, I use Iphone for Mini 2 and Ipad mini for Phantom 4, since screen is cracked on Ipad maybe in the furture for upgrade, yes cost is big factor, I'll tell Santa, but he has listen lately to my request
, keep up the videos
i use the DJI 5.5" Crystal sky monitor, its great and so far the 1000nts brightness beats flying with the iphone, but it is more stuff to bring along for sure. Russ thanks for the recview, tablet looks interesting, specially if we are going to have to pay extra for a smart controller when they launch the MP3, and unfortunately I'm not sure they are updating software much on the Crystal Sky.
Seems to be great tablet ,looks very ruged and would last .
I currently use my I pad mini 6 to fly with .
I’m currently using my iphone 11pro to fly with. I am saving up for one of these tripltek tablets.
I bought it with preorder, just received it, 10 days to Europe, Slovenia. Paid 168€ (194$) more for customs. What is interesting is that I got the smaller sized owners manual with it (like with 7 inch pro), also an USB to USB C adapter and an anti-glare screen protector. I'm surprised that wasn't in your package...
Awesome video Russ...and to answer your question, I use my Samsung phones to fly my Mavic Mini. Yes I said phones plural. I've had this funky issue that I've been in contact with DJI about the Fly app crashing when using my main phone (Samsung S21 Ultra). The Fly app runs just fine on my back up Samsung A50 no problem. In order to get it running on the S21U, I have to go into Airplane Mode then launch the Fly app then turn off airplane mode. I gotta say that Behemoth of a tablet the Tripletek 8 Pro looks super enticing for drone flying and editing. I've been wanting to upgrade to either the Air2S or Mavic 3 just so I can use the RC Pro as I've seen people just whip out the drone and RC Pro and their up and flying in seconds. Whereas for me, I'm still getting setup throwing in my tablet mount (just so I can use the ball joint to adjust the angle of the phone) onto my controller, getting the phone situated into the mount, plug in, turn on the drone and controller. So yes a much longer setup and tear down over the Smart Controller/RC Pro. Still though that massive 8" screen plus the fact I could most likely use Adobe Lightroom and other editing apps...is making me lean more to that instead
Love your videos. Do you have a hard case and a bag recommendation for the drone, batteries, tripletech pro, and the tablet mount, as well as some accessories? Thanks for your help.
I fly using my iPhone 12 Pro Max and the controller that came with my DJI Mini 2. I have researched the Smart Controller, but it really seems like it is going to be more trouble than it's worth. Aside from the fact that is is egregiously expensive for what it does, it also seems to reduce the range over the DJI Mini 2 controller. This is why the Tripletek really intrigues me. It has 200 more nits of brightness, and it lets the mini 2 controller do the work, so I don't lose any range. And bigger IS better, don't let them tell you any different! Oh by the way, I take my Part 107 exam next weekend, so wish me luck.
Good luck!
DJI Mini 2? Dude that’s a kids toy, and not only that the Smart Controller doesn’t even support Mini 2, lol.
@@digifortressllc8646 The smart controller does support the Mini 2, not the mini 1. I am a beginner and can't fly worth a shit, so I don't want to crash an expensive drone. Plus I only fly a couple times a year.
@@MrWhiteKeys1 if you fly that little. Just stick to your phone as a screen. Seriously.
@@Stiandragland That's what I was thinking. Well, now that I passed my Part 107 with a 97% (!!!) I am thinking about getting the Autel Enterprise. I am closing in on a contract with one of the largest pool companies in Arizona to do timelapse construction progress videos and showcase their finished pools. So it looks like I will be flying more often. But the point is the whole advantage to the mini 2, being such a great platform, is its portability. So just use the phone for that one, but use the giant controlller that comes with the Autel Enterprise setup for the more serious stuff like roof and building inspections, construction sites, etc.
I'm glad you mentioned how it felt in your hand. A sign of a pro tech reviewer. 👊🌞
Ha!
I use my iPad Air as my monitor and one of these would be a good investment. Thanks, Russ for sharing this super kewl video. Cheers from yu OL mate DownUnder
Thanks for making this great informational video. I'm just wondering is the seven that bad? Would it be fine for some people or would you just recommend going straight to the eight. Is the extra price going to give you more of what you need. Or just extra gimmicks you might use once in a while. Thanks a lot.
Nice review. I bought the 7” model and liked it except for the weight and thickness. I’ve ordered the 8” from Amazon and will have it on Friday to compare with my 7”. The best setup I’ve used for drone flying was my Crystalsky ultrabright at 2400 nits but of course I can’t use it with my Air 2S or Mini 2. Very annoyed with DJI for not supporting this great monitor for the Fly app! I’m starting to accumulate a lot of expensive monitors. If anyone wants a really good deal on my old Tripltek monitor give me a holler.
So how does your new 8 compare to your 7?
@@thejimmy6533 Bigger screen and faster processor. Very nice indeed,
I agree smart phones are horrible in sunlight one reason I don’t use my drone much. My question is do you need a SIM card to fly? Not sure how it all connects to the drone if you 1,000 yards away. Thanks great video brief and to the point, i was thinking of the DJI Comptroller but I am sold on this product.
Cheers from Vancouver Island Canada 🇨🇦
You do not need a SIM card to fly. The map data can be collected before in your home, or you can connect the tablet to a WIFI Hotspot on your phone at the field
I like it my I phone too small overheats little battery life Going to check that trippletek out
All things considered, a pretty decent and rugged tablet for eight Franklin's. Even more so considering you can use it as a phone.
I use the NVIDIA K1 Shield. IT's a great tablet for drones too, but lacs in processing power. The DJI Fly app won't work on it so I have to use Litchi app, which is alright by me. The Tripltek looks like the ultimate and I'll be getting one as soon as the piggy-bank gets a bit more in it. Greetings from Alaska.
When I bought one last there was 10 left, now there are 0. taking pre-orders now! I cant wait
to get my hands on it!
Well, mine is going back. In addition to not being able to get AT&T to successfully get data going, it has also ruined every memory card inserted.
Flying with a Samsung S21Ultra . It’s plenty bright enough , awesome screen resolution and fast enough to fly my air 2 S and to at the same time . Best part I can easily transfer all pics and video files onto a USB Thumb drive or even onto a large micro SD card or even a portable hard drive. And it fits in my pocket too.
I live in Florida and never have a problem flying using my iPhone 11. Possibly use a screen shade if it’s that bright and treat your electronics properly.
Great!!! Video 51 Drones.....I might just grab this Tripltek Tablet when the new DJI MINI 3 come out
By then i hope the price for that tablet comes down....But as of right now i'm happy with my DJI Smart controller:)
But you have a new subscriber...
Definitely a better iPad mini if you fly drones too! 500 nits vs 1200 is a huge difference when the sun hits your screen. However I don’t need another tablet so I will probably go with a dji smart controller in the future.
I fly using my 11" ipad air, never had any issues with it or seeing the screen, also have the cellular version of it and works great . Plus I get a 1080 picture to my screen not 720 and that's what triple tech needs to do..
11" full 4k capable tablet.
That would be way out of price range, and quite heavy with the shell on
Just ordered one!. Sorry the Amazon link was out of stock so I had to order direct. I'm psyched. Finally found what I had been waiting for to use with my Mavic Air 2. (I don't feel bad about the Mavic Air 2 S being released- They didn't upgrade the cpu!) I had been holding out for a long time waiting for DJI to release a New Smart controller...I may still get that when it comes out though. I already have the Mac mini and a larger (9" I think) but still mostly use my Galaxy S9+ to fly. I like your review. Thanks for posting. This 8" upgrade fits the bill. I passed on their 7" model when it was released. This one has a larger battery but is thinner, has a larger screen and is lighter! ...they upgraded the cpu and gpu, it has a brighter screen, doesn't go dim over time, Can be used as a cell phone, you can also insert an sd card to view pictures and videos (my Macbook pro can't even do that at 3 times the cost) it doesn't glitch like the DJI Smart Controller, It 's Google compliant and works with android, I don't have to worry about getting it wet, It won't break if I drop it or accidentally run over it with my car, has a tactile feel, looks good, doubles as a tablet etc. Yeah $800.00 seems like a lot of money when I compare it to a very nice $700.00 Epiphone Guitar but its a steal when compared to a $2000.00 cell phone.
...and I bet money when DJI comes out with a new smart controller it will be a rehash of what's already included with their drones.
Good review Russell, but I like my DJI smart controller and if for some reason my smart controller is not available I’ll use my iPhone pro max, it works for me.
Russ, enjoy the channel. Just starting on the drone journey. I ordered the tablet today. The fact it is a tablet and not a dedicated unit is a big factor. Also the DJI Smart Controller with the Air 2S doesn't get overall stellar reviews. As I am just starting out, have you done, or are you considering, a review on Apps other than DJI you use for flight reference? Thanks for all the information.
How has your experience been with the tablet? I just started my drone journey, and I’m back-and-forth between the tablet or getting DJI’s sc. I have an iPhone 11 Pro, and I won’t be upgrading anytime soon, starting to think the tablet is my best option..
@@jmg7683 HI. I've been using tablet as a tablet for now. Still haven't purchased a drone yet. Waffling between Mavic 3, Air 2S and Autel Lite +. @@kmpankopf Thanks for the reply, I have the air 2s sitting in the box, and I’ll be unboxing it today. I’ve really gone back-and-forth with the tablet vs sc, but I opted for the regular RC. And I’ll end up getting the tablet in the next couple of weeks. I’d like to think that the tablet would be even more of a better option since there will be more variety for flying apps and flight reference. Not sure what the sc pro will say, but I haven’t heard much of a difference..
I’m in Arizona and spring is just about in full force, I’m looking forward to getting out with it! Hope you’re able to get yours soon!
Great video, I use an IPad mini 7.9. Haven’t had an issue with screen going dark, but the brightness isn’t the best on a sunny day. I’m not sure which is the best option, Tripletek or Smart Controller. I’m sure time will reveal more….
Great timing on this review! At least for me. I was days away from buying a smart controller and you really got me rethinking my purchase. Give me the bottom line. Smart controller or triple tek?
Smart controller is more compact and natively supported but could be obsolete with a new product release. The tablet has better specs overall but adds bulk to the hand held experience. So if you you enjoy quick and easy setup and compact form factor, go with the Smart controller. If you want the best specs and potentially more battery life, go with the tablet.

I received the Tripltek 8 last Friday after purchasing the iPad Pro 11". The remote controller was not connecting to the iPad because the word was that DJI drones are not compatible with iOS 15. Then I ran into an issue with the Tripltek 8 when trying to update the firmware. It wouldn't progress past 40%. However, to make a long story short I updated the firmware with my phone and then everything was fine and I was able to use the Tripltek. I then tried the iPad and was able to use it. So I figured it out. But my only problem with the Tripltek is that it's a little heavy for the RC. I was thinking of returning it for that reason and also I'm now able to use the iPad Pro. But if I return it there's a 20% restocking fee. So maybe I'll keep it. I also have to see how bright the screen is on a sunny day. I'm in SoCal so we have plenty of that.
Thanks for sharing. Here Joop from the Netherlands. The price is too high to buy and change to this one when you have already a tablet.
Might be interested, for just a little more they new 9" version is out saying 70% more powerful. So that sounds like the better buy to me assuming it still has the great battery, not too heavy, and is compatible like this one is.
Already ordered, I don’t like to use my iPhone pro max to using for drone , please tell me do I still need to order separate bracket for this ?
Thanks for great review of this tablet
Russ, first off, thanks for taking the time to add something to the hobby, your hard work is appreciated and yes, liked the vid because I did and do find something of value in each of your vids. Unfortunately for me, I just upgraded my drone monitor from an iPad Air 2, to an iPad Air 4. I am flying a DJI Phantom 4 (first production) and cannot get ship data to display on the tablet using a USB A to USB C cable I picked up at Walmart. I did note that settings in DJI GO 4 seemed to be back to default. When switching back to the iPad Air 2, all is back to normal. Any suggestions on resolving this issue other than buying a Tripltek 8?
There appears to be some issues with certain iPad Air series and various DJI drones.
DJI has a drone/phone/tablet compatibility list on the official DJI website.
Please look there.
And also DJI forums.
Tried to update crystalsky good for the commercial drones. Works with the zoom but not all features work. Saw this and going to order this
